I’m a big fan of sheet pan dinners. Roasting veggies and adding sausage (or not) is super easy. I also found a great sheet pan panzanella recipe from Bon Apetit. Also Amy’s Chili slaps-I don’t care if it’s in a can.
Some sort of veggie/cheesy flatbread with chili oil. On a different note, it sucks that you feel the need to clarify certain (normal) aspects of your life. Sending you good vibes ✨
pasta with olive oil, eggplant, garlic, chilli flakes + miso!! cheap-ish, quick and it really hits the spot!! with a little bit of parm on top it's perfect!!
girl, you are allowed to eat when and what you want!! I'm two years recovered from anorexia, and what I learned through recovery and implementing intuitive eating, is that our bodies are not clocks!!! there is no specific time we are allowed or not allowed to eat! if your hungry, eat! if not, don't! but even if you're not hungry and you want some food, go for it!!! love you blitz
As someone who feels like I've been precariously circling an eating disorder the past few years, I appreciate hearing not to pay attention to clocks. writeitandweep oh love, I get the constant cycle. The only way to break it is opposite actions. You have to literally do the exact opposite of what your brain is telling you... and trust me it’s no easy task :( but the more you do it, the easier it becomes!! I wish the best of luck towards your recovery, and soooo much love ❤️ it can be so hard at first, but trust me life in recovery is beautiful, and is so fulfilling! Take it from someone who had a long stint in the hospital... you are never not sick enough to get help. You are worth it!!!
I really like that you highlighted that not everyone eats 3 meals a day or eats at the same time etc. I definitely eat depending on what I feel and it changes depending on the day.

There's something to be said for sitting down to eat for dinner every night with your loved one(s), at a table with chairs, without phone or TV (which is so unheard of these days! I think the last time I did that was when I was 10). 🖤 I especially think it's lovely that you two always take time to set a little ambiance, like using real plates/napkins, simple but nice glasses, candle light, and it's always cozy. It goes to show, even if you're just having a can of chili for dinner, you can still make it nice and an enjoyable experience, and there are many ways you can practice small acts of love/self love/care (this being one). I think sometimes many of us (I know I do) tend to get so absorbed in the day to day fast paced minutiae and get so used to what we have and who we around regularly that we can take it for granted and not want to do much because "it's just me" or "its just the my fam/bf-- the usual. I'm just gonna eat dinner on my bed, over a beach towel, while watching Netflix." I think that's one of my favorite thing about Julia's videos- I love seeing the small, simple, doable acts that when combined, make all the difference. They're like small reminders for me, giving me a sense of calm and being "re-centered" in a time where that can be really hard to find/feel. Thank you, Julia. 🖤

I lost 80lbs and it's been a wild ass journey. So many mental games, emotional self beat ups and at times feeling completely defeated over what I eat. It's insane how food has become such a trigger for me. It really expose on how I have such a mess up relationship with food and how I will use food to regulate my mood. It's been quite the learning journey and one hell of a battle in my life. But I have 40lbs left to lose and I just take one day at a time. I sound like an addict but addiction runs in my family. I already had issues with alcohol in my early to mid 20s and defeated that, so I can defeat my chaotic relationship with food. There will be a day when a look at a restaurant menu or go to a grocery and not be full of anxiety. At the moment, keep myself center by watching ASMR videos, working out and focus on my goal.
I personally never have lunch, I basically always have a late breakfast (either because I've been working all morning and I never eat before I finish the work because I have a good workflow that feels natural and therefore why would I ruin it or because I've been sleeping in) and then a late or early dinner, depending on how hungry I am. I like drinking tea or coffee in between. I've done this for as long as I remember and I've never heard a single comment about my style of eating so I was weirded out when Julia mentioned that she might get criticism about her skipping lunch. Just do what YOU gotta do, folks. Your eating style is good as long as you are healthy and it feels natural and nice, not when it works for somebody else.
I cannot relate to this video ENOUGH! Lately, I only require two meals a day--no restriction, no binging, just eating when I'm hungry! I find that there is so much pressure for these types of videos to be "perfect" (three square meals a day) but it doesn't always work like that! Everyone's body is different! Hey, since I'm Polish American we eat dinner early like about 4-5 ish and have a light supper in the evening. I hate going to bed with a full stomach. I also have breakfast/ lunch in one. And yeah if I eat something from a can or a box I also dress it up with fresh veggies and spices. I try to eat very healthy.

I think the standard breakfast, lunch and dinner is a western idea sold to us to sell us and market us food, I don’t for one second think it’s the healthiest way. Why do we need our biggest meal of the day at 6-8pm when we are winding down for the day and don’t need energy. It’s always confused me! Intuitive eating is the way. Eat whatever makes you happy and healthy Julia x
Agreed! It doesn’t make sense. And although all bodies are different & require different eating habits, I’ve found that I do not need 3 meals per day everyday. I’m not always hungry & I actually feel more lazy & drained by eating that much. I’ve always believed that eating a bigger/balanced breakfast is the most important part to give you that energy for the day. Making a bigger meal as we wind down doesn’t seem to make much sense even though that’s what we’re taught along with the 3 main meals per day, it’s definitely not the healthiest way.

So right about everyone being different. I am trying to lose weight and tried plant based foods, gained weight and bloating - now on a more Keto plan and the weight is coming off and full of energy and feel great. Not every plan or eating habit works for everyone so it’s so important to listen to what your body type wants x

I’ve been alone and struggling lately and I don’t have anyone to help me or anyone to talk to and I’m hoping you can see this and help me. I’ve just been trying to take any opportunities to try and reach out to people I admire and have their lives together because I feel like they can help in some way and I think trying is better than nothing. And it’s hard not to do nothing lol. For a drink like that, I'd put it in a shaker with ice and stir with a bar spoon, and then strain into the coupe. Also, I think a dash of bitters would give it some extra depth.

I would definitely try that breakfast but I think I would do the eggs open face because I’m terrible at cutting things nicely 😋 The guy I’m dating never eats breakfast. I am not really sure why but he’s just never really hungry before lunch. I usually am hungry within an hour or three hours of waking up so I rarely skip it. Nothing wrong with eating when you are hungry, as long as like you said Julia, you aren’t starving yourself or punishing yourself through food. ♥️

Everything looked so good!! I love Amy's chili and also their veg retried beans. As a vegan I wouldn't eat your waffle egg sandwich but it looked super yummy. I sometimes make vegan scrambled "eggs" but the consistency isn't quite to my liking. For easy meals, I make a lot of quinoa or rice veggie bowls (using whatever veggies I have on hand) and often use vegan sausage/crumbled black bean burger. I like stir-fry and burrito bowls & wraps. I liked the chips on the side of your chili. I forsee vegan chili & salad in my near future!
I'm a mom and wife and I never had eating issues, still If I lived alone I would totally have 2meals a day plus snacks in most days! When I have a rare alone day I eat big meals at 09.00 and 16.00. thats when my belly really wants food.

Yes! Both of my grey ones are really protective of their food (Ruby & Chilly)!!! Not sure where they learned their manners but they can't be trusted to share and sometimes it gets really ugly! 😭😩 smh

I think the standard breakfast, lunch and dinner is a western idea sold to us to sell us and market us food, I don’t for one second think it’s the healthiest way. Why do we need our biggest meal of the day at 6-8pm when we are winding down for the day and don’t need energy. It’s always confused me! Intuitive eating is the way. Eat whatever makes you happy and healthy Julia x
Agreed! It doesn’t make sense. And although all bodies are different & require different eating habits, I’ve found that I do not need 3 meals per day everyday. I’m not always hungry & I actually feel more lazy & drained by eating that much. I’ve always believed that eating a bigger/balanced breakfast is the most important part to give you that energy for the day. Making a bigger meal as we wind down doesn’t seem to make much sense even though that’s what we’re taught along with the 3 main meals per day, it’s definitely not the healthiest way.

So right about everyone being different. I am trying to lose weight and tried plant based foods, gained weight and bloating - now on a more Keto plan and the weight is coming off and full of energy and feel great. Not every plan or eating habit works for everyone so it’s so important to listen to what your body type wants x

I’ve been alone and struggling lately and I don’t have anyone to help me or anyone to talk to and I’m hoping you can see this and help me. I know on your post you said to watch this video and comment how our lives are going and mines not going. I’ve just been trying to take any opportunities to try and reach out to people I admire and have their lives together because I feel like they can help in some way and I think trying is better than nothing. And it’s hard not to do nothing lol. It’s a little difficult to post this in the comments because other people can see it but I have the reassurance of the fact that I didn’t specify anything about my struggles and now I’m rambling for my own mental relief 😂. I would definitely try that breakfast but I think I would do the eggs open face because I’m terrible at cutting things nicely 😋 The guy I’m dating never eats breakfast. I am not really sure why but he’s just never really hungry before lunch. I usually am hungry within an hour or three hours of waking up so I rarely skip it. Nothing wrong with eating when you are hungry, as long as like you said Julia, you aren’t starving yourself or punishing yourself through food. ♥️

Oh my gosh that breakfast looked heavenly. Also, I must admit I did not eat until 5pm today. My anxiety wipes my hunger out completely. I feel I don’t have that desire that most people have to eat and enjoy food. I don’t drink alcohol now but my 20 year old self would have been all over that drink!! 😆

Everything looked so good!! I love Amy's chili and also their veg retried beans. As a vegan I wouldn't eat your waffle egg sandwich but it looked super yummy. I sometimes make vegan scrambled "eggs" but the consistency isn't quite to my liking. For easy meals, I make a lot of quinoa or rice veggie bowls (using whatever veggies I have on hand) and often use vegan sausage/crumbled black bean burger. I like stir-fry and burrito bowls & wraps. I liked the chips on the side of your chili. I forsee vegan chili & salad in my near future!
I'm a mom and wife and I never had eating issues, still If I lived alone I would totally have 2meals a day plus snacks in most days! When I have a rare alone day I eat big meals at 09.00 and 16.00. thats when my belly really wants food.
