- Hi!! This was an unplanned, spontaneous video I decided to film showing you guys what I eat in a typical day when I haven't gone grocery shopping in a while. RECIPES
Perfect buttermilk pancakes: bit.ly/3b9jlZA (I omitted the part with the oven for reheating)
The BEST blue cheese dressing EVER (not vegan)
Ingredients
3 ounces blue cheese
2 tablespoons vegenaise (vegan mayonaise; I use the grapeseed variety)
3 tablespoons buttermilk
3 tablespoons sour cream
dash garlic powder
dash sea salt
dash black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cane sugar or turbinado sugar
3/4 teaspoon white wine vinegar OR rice vinegar (I prefer rice vinegar but both work great!)
Add blue cheese to a bowl and press with a fork to break up. Add the rest of ingredients and mix with a spoon until combined. Store in refrigerator for up to a week. Enjoy with fresh veggies/on everything.
Angela’s VEGAN chili recipe (SO GOOD!!!). Note: makes enough to eat for a week. Adjust ingredient ratio for smaller quantity or see other chili recipes below.
Ingredients:
1 chopped onion
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 tablespoons dry oregano
1 tablespoon salt
2 celery stalks chopped
2 green bell peppers chopped
2 cups of mushrooms
2 jalapeno peppers chopped
3 cloves of garlic chopped
2 x 4oz cans chopped green Chile peppers
1 lb ground Beyond Beef (1 vacuum sealed pack)
3 x 28 ounce cans of whole peeled tomatoes crushed
1/2 cup of chili powder
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 x 15 oz can of kidney beans
1 x 15 oz can of garbanzo beans
1 x 15 oz can of black beans
1 x 15 oz can of whole kernel corn
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a very large pot. Stir in onion and season with bay leaves, cumin, oregano and salt. Cook and stir until onion is tender then mix in the celery, green bell peppers, jalapeño peppers, garlic green chile peppers, and mushrooms. Mix in the beyond burger and stir/mince it all up until well combined it all up (a couple of minutes)
Add and squish tomatoes in pot. Season with the chili powder and pepper. Stir in the beans. Add the corn, Bring to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 mins.

I don't add siracha to the sauce I use rice vinegar instead. Also, if the sauce is too thick or the peanut butter doesn't seem to be mixing well after heating it up, adding more water/soy sauce/rice vinegar will get it to a thinner consistency. This website in general has some really good recipes I've been loving and they're not too difficult to make!

Sharp knives is one of the greatest joys in life. A great and very satisfying hobby to learn is sharpening on a whetstone although I do not always sharpen my own. 😍

i love thai food, and when i am in a city i look for a thai restaurant, food is subjective, to each their own, different strokes for different folks, all food is good except for spoiled food, and even then, the alaskans might argue that point, cuz they put seal flesh in the ground and let it ferment for like 6 months and then eat it, ,,,hmm, why did i type this? lol, love you though

Little snack type meals are my favorite way to make it through the day. I eat a ton of fruits and veggies and a little bit of protein at each meal! Big meals tend to make me nauseous so I tend to “eat like a bird” according to my husband! And I drink a ton of water because I’m always thirsty!!
I dont usually eat pancakes but after watching your pancakes I'm craving pancakes 😭😭😭 I make one with oat flour, flaxseed and almond milk I mix it all and cook them . Then I top it with almond butter and fruit !

weird question BUT how do you sharpen your knives? I have yet to find a good knife sharpener, and clearly you have a great one!
It depends on the knife! Sometimes I sharpen them myself on a whetstone, sometimes I get them sharpened professionally at a cutlery shop in LA.

@@crispytylerjosh327 well, swiss fridges (talking traditional, family, working class..) are not even half that size. Usually actually 1/4 of the above! Everything is smaller here. Including bottles (all 1liter size max) and portion sizes of packaged foods. I currently have one head of salad, two veg, one carton of almond milk, two tupperware with leftovers, one stick of butter, two small pieces of cheese, two oranges and 4 small bottles of condiment in mine. That is all.

So, if you literally google Charcuterie it is a platter centered and defined by an assortment of cured meats. The crackers, cheeses, and fruit are all meant to accompany said meats or to palate cleanse.
So no meat on a charcuterie board just means a party platter, lol.
Nor am I dogging on those who do not eat animal products, that's all well and dandy.
However, a charcuterie board without cured meats is akin to eggless omelettes.

Love that you didn’t plan this ahead of time and just filmed with what you already had! I took love making snack boards for myself. The best meal I had recently was one I made: baked rockfish with broccolini, black lentils and oyster mushrooms. I’ve recently become obsessed with lentils. You can use them in dishes instead of rice or quinoa and I find them more filling and satisfying.

Petra Middendorp there could be many answers to your question! but one is that fruits and veggies have now become less nutritious due to SOIL depletion. Most people are deficient in magnesium, iron, iodine, calcium, vitamin A, D, and C.

This makes me want to eat a snack right now! I had a friend's bachelorette party this weekend and made a DIY charcuterie board which was delicious! Not too fancy, but enough to satiate the pallets of everyone involved.
I am total 'drink a lot of water' person. I start my day with a glass or two and keep a water bottle bedside. I also love to create little platters of various ingredients, satisfying to the eyes and tastebuds! I could watch you cut food all day long with your beautiful hands and knives! 🤲 🔪

@@melisandre6324 I generally eat more than the average amount of calories recommended for my height/weight because I am an active person. I am not on a low calorie diet, nor do I restrict myself from food, so there is no reason to that imply that my diet is unhealthy or encourages weight loss. Some people prefer to eat larger meals and some people spread food out more throughout the day. I do both depending on my schedule and what I feel like eating. X
itsblitzzz I wasn’t trying to imply that at all. I was more responding to comments suggesting that your diet would “shrink people’s stomachs” (an implication that it’s unhealthy and encourages weight loss), and that padding out diets with water is a safe way to eat.
I have no problem with your diet and didn’t intend for it to come across as such - I have a problem with the people who are putting forward “weight loss” narratives in the comments.

I LOVE that you are volunteering with an riding therapy program!!! If you keep riding in paddock boots you may also want to invest in a cheap pair of half chaps as well. I have very long legs as well and I find them essential if I am schooling or hacking in paddock boots. Honestly you could probably find a pair on ebay that would do the trick!

Julia, I do the same type of snack meals too like your lunch you did when food gets low. I also don't shy away from things like oatmeal for dinner. I know if I didn't have a family to feed my meals would be super simple with random days of special meals I love to prepare. I've been putting off grocery shopping for way too long because of stress, but I'm going to try and go today. Last night I told my family- Ok here is your choices: Salmon sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches or peanut butter and honey. I made salmon filling, and egg salad filling because everyone had a different choice. 2 had egg salad, I had the salmon sandwich, and my youngest had peanut butter and honey. Frozen blueberries, fresh pink lady apples and cut up cara cara oranges as a side.

You have so many healthy habits. I don’t even eat breakfast every day since I have to wake up early and I’m really not a morning person. I’ve honestly never thought about pre prepping fruit and veggies so I might give that a try, I could always eat it in the car on the way
