ABOUT KIM'S CONVENIENCE:
"Kim's Convenience" depicts a Korean Canadian Kim family that runs a convenience store in the Moss Park neighbourhood of Toronto: parents "Appa" (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and "Umma" (Jean Yoon) - Korean for dad and mom, respectively - along with their daughter Janet (Andrea Bang) and estranged son Jung (Simu Liu). Other characters include Jung's friend and coworker Kimchee (Andrew Phung) and his manager Shannon (Nicole Power). The series is based on Ins Choi's 2011 play of the same name. Mr. and Mrs. Kim have worked hard to give their now-twenty-something children, Janet and Jung, a better life in Canada. This comedy finds laughter in the trials of running a literal 'Mom and Pop' shop while raising kids in a culture not quite your own.

@@utkarshnn I have known about this yes! I'm looking forward to seeing him again, and feel that he will fit in the universe very well. Still, the show being cancelled is still a terribly sad thing for everyone, and I do agree that Jung still had a lot to develop on. As well as the other charecters.
Despite that, this show will always be one of my favourites x

almost everyone wants to do another season! If we do go the spinoff route (which has been in the work for 2 years now), can we pepper in side stories focusing on the family and eventually dedicate a whole episode to giving this show a correct finale?

When ever I feel sad or can't sleep I turn this show on. It gives me warm fuzzy feeling. One of my all time favorite shows. I wish the network would have continued with season 6.
Same! This was my comfort show. So sad we didn’t get a proper ending. Hopefully one day they will bring it back for another season or a spin-off at the least.
It's so weird hearing mr kim talk without an accent, I always wondered if it was real or not 😂

I couldn't believe how much I ended up loving this show. I never thought I could get into a show like this.
It makes me so sad to know how hard the cast members had to fight for their voices and accurate + respectful portrayals while filming. I hope these stars know that revealing their struggles with scripts/producers/cultural inaccuracies on set is such a helpful and honorable thing to do. It's clear that these actors are knowledgeable and each have their own impressive paths - I am rooting for you each all the way.
I'd like to see a Kim's Convenience in every Rosebud motel.

I'm so sad that this is the last season. I really hope that their network would reconsider and bring it back to bring closure to everyone. Especially to Appa and Jung.

CBC renewed it. They were happy to have a sixth season. Sadly we’re not gonna to get a proper ending because of the creators/producers. Perhaps they can be convinced to give us that sixth season. It’s really unfair of them to pull this now. There is petition out there.

I came across this show on Netflix but didn't gave it a chance but one day couldn't figure out what to watch. Decided to click on it and wow was not disappointed. I loved.

Goodbye, my nostalgic taste of Toronto! I moved and I miss that city so much, and seeing familiar places always made me happy.
OMG I LOVE Toronto too! Used to go there a LOT circa 2009 through 2011 when I lived in Buffalo NY.
I am so saddened by the end of my favorite show. I thank all actors and crew for their remarquable performance, bringing joy and happiness in my life, week after weeks. Thank you all.

I just started watching this today, and I binged season 1 in 1 sitting. Just like Superstore, it's one of those "hidden" gems.
About a week ago I prayed to God to show me the way in this here life. And for some reason, i tried something new, and now im on my last episode of Kim's Convenience , and man, thank you for sneak attack this wonderful series. You brought me something I really needed and took it in to my heart. I love this series. It's funny, because my kiosk where I grew up was from Korea (im swedish) and also christian. And also, his name is also Kim.
we all need heartwarming shows like these to know that there are good things left in this world

My heart is broken from the ending of the show. This was my most favorite show since Frasier.

Finding it very difficult to accept the show it ending! Me and my wife just discovered the show just over a month ago.... Hopefully a different show runner step in and bring the writers/cast together to save the show...

Just discovered this show and cant get enough! Everyone is really great but Mr. Kim's Indian friend is the best imo! He really cracks me up whenever he shows up lol they have great chemistry!!

Sad to see the show is ending, and it will be missed. I feel it was the best comedy that CBC produced for a very long time, and I worked there for 36 years prior to retiring in 2020.
One of the best shows ever....But in my defense I also loved Red Dwarf LOL.

@@dirys24 Yes I did. I began working there in February of 1984, and retired in February of 2020 just prior to the pandemic.
Just finished season 5 on Netflix (it came very late in my country), very,very sad knowing that the show was cancelled. It's a very funny comedy with tons of heart. I really hope for the best to all of the casts and i hope Ins Choi could come up with even better show in the future. I'd give Stray a chance if it ever come to Netflix
We NEED 6 seasons and a movie! Please, these characters deserve proper closure. Jung and Appa must reconcile. Janet, Kimchee, Jung, and yes Shannon must become successful in their own rights. Eomma needs to conquer her MS. After everything they went through and their obvious feelings, who really believes Jung and Shannon were going to remain broken up? These people have been welcome in our homes for 5 seasons. We love them like family. We the fans as well as the characters deserve a real heartfelt ending to this endearing show.
Gonna miss this show and cast so much!
