My cat went missing October 1st. I’ve pounded doors, left flyers, called the humane society and cried. My other cat has been acting up. I know he misses her too even though he loved to jump on her and not let her go. He acted so violent towards her. Yet she never had a single scratch or wound of any sort from him. It only looked bad. But he’s definitely hurting too. Cats and dogs feel just like we do I believe 100%.

According to one of my housemates (a post-doctorate chemical engineering researcher), some scientists treat life like it's nothing but science, another thing to figure out instead of a living being or experience. It's really sad and really telling of why some people treat others with such disrespect, pain, and lack of regard. 😞 Science creates an absolute, and as much as I believe in science, not everything has or is an absolute.

You'd be surprised how it was the norm not more than a few centuries ago how almost everyone believed that animals DON'T have feelings or emotions because they lacked a "soul" (in the religious definitional sense). So I am just glad that we actually DO have the science to back up that you don't need a religious "soul" to have feelings and emotions and to prove ignoramuses wrong. Scientific research to elucidate on this ignorance is a blessing and we shouldn't shoot down science because they are slow to back up our modern day intuitions. Rather they add more support to what we already know, and add further granular details to what we might not know i.e. cats have over 300 different facial expressions.
