That series John Deere is durable as they get. Looks like a well cared for machine. I am excited for you friend and look forward to your new adventures with it.
🎉 CONGRATS! Nice looking tractor! Here in Nebraska I've seen some of those and they sell for a ton. Often way over retail price. lol. I'd call it a great trade. 👍👍
Love that jhon deer i don't know if you deal with any diesel engines but the oil will always be black change it and check it after you use it for about a hour and it will be just as black
@@MidwestToolReview Very nice tractor and you should be proud to have one. I have a nice 1984, 4wd, with P.S., same turf tires, #67 loader, 5 front weights and the ROPS you're missing. Had it here on the farm for about 7 yrs. now. 1st thing I did was power washed it real good. Then changed ALL fluids, filters, fuel lines and installed thermostat and block heater. 90 minutes on 400 w. block heater and starts like mid summer. This diesel is a, " Pre Combustion " design and you can NOT use starting fluid,,,,unless you want to do extensive repairs. Says so in the manual. It uses a, "ThermoStart" system, not glow plugs. Turning key ccw for 15 sec. should produce a diesel flame in the intake. Had to fix mine but never use it. I thought I wanted ag tires but love the turf here on the farm. Never get stuck even on the muck and work perfect with 7 ' rear blade in Mich. snow. It does have rear diff. lock. #67 belongs on it, #70 loader fits. Problem is you must have front and mid tractor frames. Toughest part is you need the hydraulic system that is also rare. It's steel pipe, short hoses, control valve and mounting bracket, plus has a large spin on filter by r. rear brake. The kit was available W/Without P.S. About the only way is buy a 750 with loader, switch everything, then sell bare tractor. Yours is worth the hassle. These are built like a tank but are slow, neediing to shift gears without grinding, Hi-Lo range and you can't shift anything on the move. It's a small tractor, not an overgrown garden tractor. Cast iron, not aluminum housings. Service, Part manuals are available from PeacefulCreek. com. That air filter shows it hasn't been to a J.D. dealer for service for a very long time. 10 + yrs?
The key with the Milwaukee grinders I'm they are very pressure sensitive. You can't just force them like you can with a air grinder. I have 4 of the m12 angle grinders 2x m12 straight and a m18 straight I like them all but all have there place.
I've heard a lot of good feedback on the 1025's..wish I have the JD70 bucket loader, but you already know I'll be visiting farm auctions next spring/summer...
I finally bought a blue handle Matco ratchet today.New Matco dealer came by and had it out.Found out he knows about Clay Koon, has watched his videos.Get a shop manual for that tractor too including a parts manual
I did actually. The deal had been established over a week ago, and before doing so, I was able to look over the unit, review the records and test drive the tractor.
Diesel oil is supposed to be black. If you change the oil 10 seconds of it running will turn it black again
Good to know...as stated in the vid, this is the first diesel engine I've owned, so there's a bit of a learning curve that I need to navigate...

Good deal for both of you
Very excited to see what’s to come with this!
That looks like a fun project
When I had a commercial mowing business I had a smaller John Deere mower that I mowed with for several years and loved it!
Very nice

This is my first diesel engine, so I'll have to learn a bit to understand what to expect, etc.

I have the shop manuals for the unit, which has been very helpful
I wanted to know if you would sell your ct761 that doesn’t work
I can always count on you to be cooking up something new. Nice toy! Enjoy it
More to come!
I just got a newly released rechargeable light from Kline Tools and absolutely love it.
That is awesome!
I would have checked it out a little closer before deal hope it’s a good trade

@@MidwestToolReview Awesome trade man! I'd have done the trade even if the tractor didn't run.
