Even if you could, you would still need the 10 snow permeants to make it trigger pretty sure. But you couldn't. Anyway this Goblin just phases it's self out I could be wrong but I don't think there is any ability that say's can't be phased out.

Come to think of it, it also gains “creatures lose all abilities” from Humility, so your guess is as good as mine.
Also, I was referring to Dark Depths, which would sacrifice itself due to having no ice counters.

    • @thek838
      @thek838 9 месяцев назад +3

Oh I was thinking of Marit Lage's Slumber lol. So the real question is would it phase out before it loses all it's abilities or would it just a be a silenced goblin... either way not very useful which is actually on flavour for a goblin. Him thinking he's gonna do something big but not really.

    First half of this video:
(0:09) Winter Gargoyle: OP, ship then ban. 0 mana?! IT DANGER! Make its mana cost like 6 or 7 and it would be fair.
(1:22) Christmas Blood Power: Fair, ship. This is a great late-game thing to plop down, especially if your graveyard stocking is stuffed full of creatures with care. But, even if you manage to cheat it out early, you still get a decent hasty body. I like it a lot. It zibers!
    (3:27) That's a really nice Island.
(3:31) Brain Boar: Fair, ship. What a silly creature, but it's got a neat effect. Might need to clarify the wording a bit, though. That "your next creature spell" could get confusing.
    (4:19) It's not a +1/+1 counter in this case.
(5:13) Icefixer Clique: Fair, ship. Nice little overpriced Terminate effect in the right colors for its adventure, and then the creature itself has some niche blue flying hate.
(7:32) Holiday: Fair, ship... if we figure out what rail 2 means, and if it's not broken or inappropriate.
(9:27) Icy Moonsilver: Word salad, shred. Umm, spells can't have loyalty abilities, right?
(11:11) Bellowing Unicorn: OP, nonfunctional, ship then ban. As written, it's too strong for 1 mana, and unfortunately, this card doesn't have a reverse side, so it does nothing. It would've been neat if it had a reverse side that was weaker, so you'd want to strive to keep this thing's stronger front side showing as much as possible. Maybe if the back side was a 0/1 creature instead of 2/3, but then could be transformed again by having two or more spells cast in one turn.
(13:13) Holidays Assault: Fair, ship. Neat variant of Tempest of Light, to have everyone draw a card after blowing up all the nontoken enchantments. Tiny grammatical issue: "enchantments cards" should be "enchantment cards", with no "s" on "enchantment". And, since it says "cards", it implies that enchantment tokens (like role tokens) are safe.
(15:23) Saproling: OP, ship then ban. Instant Timmy! IT DANGER!
(17:54) Pia Leader: Fair, ship. This one's neat. And, I love the sign in the art, which fits with the activated ability perfectly, even if "HITTING" is misspelled as "HITING". It zibers! Also, that reindeer has 5 limbs. IT DANGER! :P
(20:02) Galadrial, the Rage Looter: Fair, ship. Seems kinda neat, especially if you can run a bunch of zombies (maybe white ones from Amonkhet) and have ways to give +1/+1 counters to Galadrial for her to share with your undead army.
(22:03) Heavy Fiend: Fair, ship. Horsemanship FTW. 8 mana may be a bit pricy, though. Perhaps this could've gotten away with costing just 6 or 7 mana.
(23:23) Christmas Executioner: OP, word salad, ship then ban. A 4/4 for 2 mana with no downside is quite pushed, even if the cost-reduction ability is of no help except maybe for the commander tax, except this guy's color identity is mono-white. Also, the "until end of turn" part of it is a bit salad-y. Make this cost 4 mana and get rid of the first ability, and it would be okay.
(27:03) Frozen Vigil: OP, ship then ban. Yeah, the discard is random, but you can still rifle through your entire deck in a heartbeat! Lab Man / Thoracle, anyone? IT DANGER!

2:25 ok but for real that card is awesome, the only issue is the name doesn't sound like a creature. But It's fairly costed while still a good payoff, you can use it in many different types of decks, and the flavor actually is neat, a powerful santa giant that gain power from your dead creatures. With minor adjustements it could be a great card to print.

I still don’t think it’s fair to fail AI cards just because you don’t understand the keyword the card has. The AI is trying to come up with something new, it just doesn’t understand that it should explain these new keywords to us flesh and blood players.

I'm pretty sure these keywords the AI makes up HAVE no explanation. The AI has no idea what Rail 2 means. It just tossed that shit in there basically at random. It didn't come up with some new mechanic for Rail behind the scenes and just fail to add the text in parentheses that explains it.

Damage blocking would an interesting effect though. There are a small number of cards that say a creature is blocked. It works as if there is a virtual 0/0 creature in the way, trample still carries over, but any creature without trample just doesn't get to deal damage. A triggered ability that makes a creature becomes blocked if it were to take any damage, I'm not sure how exactly to make use of that, but if you had any kind of ability that deal 1 dmg to all creatures for example, it's intriguing a little.

Festive war faer wouldn't cause you to die to phage, the untouchables no matter how you cast it. Phages ability is an ETB, and you cannot activate festive war faer's ability until after it has already entered the battlefield, making it physically impossible for phage's ability to activate and kill you. I'm sure there are other cards that would cause you to lose, but phage wouldn't matter in this case. Neither would any other ETB ability.

Blizzard Meditionary doesn't keep its name when it becomes a copy so first off it's ETB is not that deadly but still strong but secondly it's return it to hand doesn't even work, and if you kept the cards name as Blizzard Meditionary you would then be able to get two copies of a legendary thing you control

That’s not how card names in ability text works. If the card says the card’s original name in the text, it can be directly substituted to mean “this card”, regardless of any name changes. The exception is an ability that says “cards named x” rather than just “x”.

    Second half of this video:
(31:31) Wandering Surgeon: Fair, maybe underpowered, ship. Everything is doable, but mostly niche, especially that last ability. But, there are some creatures that can "gain haste", and you could use something like Accelerate or Goblin Motivator to make a creature gain haste at will so that you can exile it with this guy.
(35:20) Holidayer Warrior: Word salad, shred. If this card does, then I don't. :P
(36:44) Gravefreeker: Likely OP, ship then ban later. At least the creature it fetches from your library enters tapped, and this thing does cost 6 mana. But... I still think it's OP. Fill your deck with lots of clones and/or blinkers, and watch the ETB damage pile up.
(39:17) The creatures fetched with Gravefreeker enter tapped, so you'd have to jump through additional hoops to be able to attack with them on the same turn.
(39:50) Wintermutter's moon: Word salad, shred. How can it make something both a 4/4 and a 3/3? Here's my fix: The creature becomes your choice of either 4/4, or 3/3 with flying added, which would seem like a fair choice. (And, the +1/+1 counter is applied atop whatever you choose, so it'll either be 5/5 or 4/4 plus flying. Of course, if the creature already has flying, then you'd obviously choose the bigger size option.)
(42:26) Icy Yourrophy: Word salad, shred. How can damage block a Dragon as though... Huh?! At least you can cycle this thing instead of trying to make sense of it.
(43:50) Icy Bouttire: OP, ship then ban. Whoa, 1-mana land destruction? And, you can overload it for an Armageddon that leaves Swamps alone. The overload cost might be fair, but the base mana cost should be at least 3 to be on par with Stone Rain.
(47:22) Blizzard Meditionary: Fair, maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. Interesting clone effect. It's just one mana, but then if you copy something with it, it bounces back to your hand at end of turn. Still might be OP and easily abusable, but I'd say it zibers!
(48:32) If you have no other creatures, you can at least cast this guy as a 0/2 for 1 mana which will stay on the battlefield, so you can chump block with it I guess. Keeps it from being a totally dead card in your hand.
(50:25) Festive War Faer: Underpowered, fair, OP, word salad, all of the above, shred. Umm... Well, I guess this thing would just instantly sacrifice itself to create the 20/20 Marit Lage token ala Dark Depths, since it has no ice counters on it. But, it would also cause you to lose the game, because of a plethora of cards that say you lose the game when they leave the battlefield, such as Nine Lives. However, if you have something like Platinum Angel present, then you could avoid that fate, but Festive War Faer's death would also trigger False Prophet's ability, exiling all creatures. Maybe you'd still survive and get the Marit Lage token afterwards, but then Festive War Faer would come back due to Persist and/or Undying, and then kill you via Phage's ETB since it wasn't cast... unless it exiled itself upon death instead like Cyclopeon Mummy does... No, wait. If it ETBs again, it wouldn't have all abilities anymore, so it can't kill you the Phage way... Ack, my brain hurts now. This card is the literal manifestation of "chaos ensues"! IT DANGER!!!
(54:57) LOL, Festive War Faer is now part of all the Hitchhiker's Guides to the Galaxy. :P
(56:31) Merfolk of Lord Drake: Ship, Fair. Maybe a tad underwhelming, but everything is doable, and you can have it be a co-commander with a Time Lord Doctor if you want. Honestly, after Festive War Faer, I'm glad to see a much more sane card now.
(58:05) Jungle Drake: OP, ship then ban. "NO" means "NO"! And, "IT" means "DANGER"!
(58:12) Oakhame Strider: Fair, ship. Seems simple and fine to me.
(58:15) Tizil Britce: Underpowered, ship then never play. Wow, a 2/2 creature for 6 mana that can become a 3/3 temporarily for 2 more mana. What a "bargain". If the base mana cost was 1 instead of 6, then I could see this being fair, starting off as an Isamaru, and then being slightly pumpable until end of turn if you need the extra +1/+1.
(59:40) Elderfank Wily-Marps: Fair, ship... Wait, that doesn't say "untap". It says "unbap". How do you "unbap"? What is this concept of "bap"? It confuses and enrages me! Roar! ...Anyway, if that did say "untap", then everything here would be doable.
(1:01:54) Minotaurist: Fair, ship. Wow, that is an amazing pun. It zibers just for the name and image alone! And, it's an okay bounce spell that can be reused once. I just wish this thing was an actual creature with the Minotaur creature type.

26:30 technically speaking The Lord of the Rings is supposed to be set in ancient times long before Santa Claus existed. So if the ring actually survived the lava and was just submerged inside, then it is possible during an eruption sometime before Santa showed up it was ejected, then it is possible he found the ring at that point. Also you could consider the fact that Sauron was being maintained by his connection to the ring, is the ring maintaining him. So when the ring was put in the lava it was forced to use its power to protect itself and was forced to abandon its link to Sauron, that would be how he died and the ring could have survived.

34:00 I read Wandering Surgeon as a hate tech for effects like Twisted Fealty and Sibling Rivalry, that gain control of a creature and it "gains haste" or guys like Ragavan who gain haste until end of turn when they ETB. Being able to target specific types of modified creatures is pretty niche, but it is unexplored space.
