@@TomAntos All the biblical accounts suggest that Jesus was not a movie "heartthrob" as you portray him. He was probably a person of average appearance or even below average beauty as Isaiah 53 suggests. All the representations I see of him are of a very handsome person by today's standards, which contradicts the biblical accounts.
This is so interesting! And, a fruitful use of your advanced filmmaking talent to craft something on this subject at a high level. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
I believe in the descriptions of the texts that he presents in the video. The men who gave his descriptions would not lie. I believe that the appearance of Jesus is as he showed in the video from the Holy Shroud.
You could use the image made by an artist in Jesus time, seek for JJ Benítez pic of the portrait of him. He had hi honey colored eyes, and not blonde his hair was dirty blonde due to the Sun damage, he was 1.81m tall, and an athletic body. I have the pic...
1) It is biblically and historically known that when Jesus was born, the Shepherds were still out with their flock. Hence, it was not....December/Winter, but Sept or October/Fall. 2) There is absolutely nowhere in the Bible, you can find a scripture commanding a celebration of the day he was born. Matter of fact, every single false Holiday (Holy Day) can not be found in the scriptures. Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc are all derived from Pagan customs and beliefs. Many know this, but yet continue their pagan customs.
@@ShadowsofSmoke does it really matter what day you celebrate Jesus? These are just traditions now that remind us of the teachings of Jesus. which is what really matters. I agree with you that the dates of these holiday are not correct and based on previous dates that Romans and Egyptians celebrated.
@ShadowsofSmoke yes, but it makes me and many other catholics and Christians happy. I celebrate God, Jesus, and the Virgin Mary every day because they live in my heart. If you chose not to celebrate Christmas, then who am I to convince you otherwise. If you're happy, then believe me, im happy. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I find this video compelling. Good for you. Personally, I enjoy many ancient day coins having depictions of "Jesus". Also, more ancient artworks are a pleasure to view. I feel very lucky for coming around this video. Happy Yule.
I also find it fascinating looking through all the different depictions of Jesus through out history, in some where he is Asian and others African etc. In the end all that matters are his teachings. Thanks!
This is so so beautiful to watch. The entire video warmed my heart. Almost cried. Loved the final portrait recreation. He really does look beautiful doesn't he? And the integration with runway was a great choice to give a glimpse of what he may have felt like to talk to in person
He looks very European. Jesus was Palestinian, I don't think he had such light skin and blue eyes. Anyway, what do I know? You did a very beautiful job, Tom.
Thanks! I also don't claim to know exactly what he looked like... but after doing the research this is what I came up with... in the end whatever way you want to see Jesus is what it should be. He can be white, black, asian, etc as along as his teaching help us live a better life.
@@sandrabenevidesrocha9157 On his mother's side we know he came through the lineage detailed in Luke 3. People claim Jesus was Jewish but that is also a weak argument i.m.o. because Jewishness only begins with Jacob (Israel) or Judah. Abraham, Noah, etc predates anything "Jewish", and Jesus lineage goes back past Noah to Abel and Adam. So Jesus was in the lineage of Jacob/Judah but claiming he was Jewish is also a misstatement.

Atheist here. Do you have any advice which god to choose If I want to dabble in some religion? I thought it can’t be that hard to list all the pros and cons to each but there seems to have been so many throughout the years that it is hard to decide!
You’re probably asking Tom specifically, not the comments section, so forgive me for jumping in and giving my two cents. I’ve always thought the most important “Pros” to consider are the religion’s TRUTH and GOODNESS. Is there evidence supporting the religion’s claims? And has the religion done good for the society it exists in? In Christianity’s case, the evidence is really substantial and far exceeds the other religions I’ve studied. I’ve also been impressed by the amount of good Christianity has contributed to western civilization through science, art, and politics. That’s not to say Christians have ALWAYS done good - some people have been really cruel and called themselves Christians. But in those cases, I find the person is living cruelly precisely because they’re NOT actually following the teachings of Christ that they claim to adhere to.
@@AustinParenti Just to confirm, when you say TRUTH, what do you mean by it? Do you mean truth as in how repeatable in controlled environment the religions magic is or do you mean something more symbolic like how true the religion is to it self? Thank you for the explanation of GOODNESS, that makes sense.
@@TaukasauvaYou should probably check its teachings against your experiential truth. Personally I recommend Byzantine Catholicism. It has the added benefit of being beautiful, as well as true and good.
Did you mean to write “experimental”? Do you have any tips on how to make a reliable study on the Christian magic? I think it would be of great help to Christianity if a study of it powers would be released in a well known scientific publication! :)

Here in 2024, there is virtually _no one_ that is both intelligent and has plenty of common sense that will call Jesus or the Holy Shroud a fake. That is simply impossible.
@@ShadowsofSmokeplease read the rest of that verse. It said hair white like wool and fire coming out of the eyes and a sword out of his mouth... this is the only physical description of Jesus in the Bible and its after the resurrection. It doesn't describe what he looked during his life.

Thanks! I wish you the same, a Merry Christmas!!!
Thank you for making this, Tom! Have a blessed Christmas.

Jesus looked like every other man. That is why Judas had to kiss him to identify Jesus to the soldiers.
Valid point! However the only first-hand descriptions I was able to find describe him in the way I painted his portrait.
