I think you will find that that is a bit of a mith. In 1908 the UK parliament declared "the union jack will become the national flag of great Britain".
Really like the ragged look of the flag. I wish I had time to participate in this one, but with it being winter in Canada and my garage shop not being heated, I just didn't have the time to do it before the deadline. Hopefully next time!

With the greatest respect it is called the Union Flag, it’s only called the Union Jack when it’s flown from the Jack Mast on a ship.
