@GMODISM you don't need to spend extra material on a weapon controller and save space, letting you either make the turret smaller or more armored, perhaps emp-proof it more. It's a small difference but adds up the more turrets you add.
Make mega marauder. Just a ship centered around a powerful gun just like marauder but make the central cram something ridiculously stupid or a multi barrel monster or replace it with an alternative weapon system. Keep the paddle propulsion and add a twist on the secondary simple weapons by upgradiythem somehow.
