The thing that was said in his video is that the baguette gets bottlenecked and limited by the bullet limit, making it weaker. I dont think it will change the outcome, but it will give it a better chance.
Definitely, at long range (but won’t change short range battles), however. We could clearly see some arcuballiata shells despawning before impact too lol
@@GMODISM I am unclear about that, as even at short range of we have *this* many high speed APS theres a decent chance it can bottleneck relatively quickly just because of projectiles in air. Not saying its a guarantee, but with limit @ 500... I've hit the limit with CIWS guns at decently short range. This isn't an issue with CIWS really, but especially fullPen guns could be a thing. Honestly it cracks me up that the Baguette could be radically improved by adding dual CIWS controllers to even three or four of the turrets XD
The weirdest part of that video was that he did the first battle against the weak side and naturally won, second battle against the strong side and lost (though had a pretty decent showing), then made a few improvements to his ship and.... fought the Gimle's weak side again. Just a baffling choice that third time around, seemed like it was done because of his rules about whether or not his designs get further big iterations is based on if they can overcome the challenges he sets for them. Also for me starting nose-on just makes more sense - starting out broadside-to-broadside makes any kind of maneuverability a moot point and all it tests is guns/armor
@@Rocket-doof Honestly that just speaks to me of content treadmill behavior - the mindset that putting out content now is better than putting out good content tomorrow. He's not familiar with Gimle battles beyond knowing they exist (it's pretty frequently called a onesider in the videos) and he didn't even look at the ship enough to go, "Hey, there are a ton of weapon emplacements that are only on one side of the ship. And the armor on that side is a lot thicker." It is what RUclips encourages, though. Hate the game, not the player etc etc.
He didn’t realize until the recordings was done, that’s why it’s smart to look at ships with cut through view and only important blocks, then he would have seen it easily. However upon realizing I wished he had shown a extra battle slapped on the end of the video, with Gimles better side vs baguette long range and his maxed RPM aps projectile custom setting, that would have been cool!
The baguette is all about saturation fire and excessive targets to shoot at, essentially death by a thousand cuts by a thousand assailants. It's not the greatest tactic, but it's cheaper than overspecialization most tend to evolve to.
The tactic hitman employs is called "sandblasting" it's legit one of the best and most tested ways to make good ships in this game, as you saw however, swapping to sabot made it perform a lot better, thus making proper "cuts" tbh I'm working on such a battleship too!
One thing I'm trying to learn is: how can I build small-ish and evasive crafts while also having redundancy? For example I've been thinking about trying to build a rush-down front-sider that warps close to try avoid the armour of other front-siders by shooting top armour, but things like warp rods are the size of the ship more or less which makes redundancy really hard. I'd really appreciate any tips you have.
42:52 it would have been 40% better on perfect impacts and on average probably 30% better. Best shell for sandblasters are either sabot with 2 fins (because it needs no recoil absorption) or havy head sabot sabot basebleeder (vs metal)
@@GMODISM with double fin you can have laser accurate shells without any recoilabsorption which is why i like to call it "the second best solution for every problem" because you can get crazy efficiency aps that can hit any target and deal great dps
Whaaaat? it gimps damage, 20 module right an only gunpowder yes? Can you send me prefabs of the most optional shells for this or detailed specs, I think we should do a empirical testing about this!
For most aps systems a neck would make sense but for crams theres basically no reason. (The neck is the cooling/gauge line that connects the fire piece and autoloaders trough the deck)
The gimles aps are also neckless, feel free to inspect them, even if no components are it head I still advise to have more than one cooler line connecting the turret cap to the internals
Well it’s a funny one, and really well made since it’s a bit meme based, makes my think of the suuuper long marauder haha, that interior is awesome! Also the it is a good concept since it was a winner in his tests, that’s exactly how to find stuff that eventually works well :)
Well, some of the most powerful ships are long, which means that being even longer than them will be even more powerful. It's simple data extrapolation.

I'm curious what you mean when you say turret neck. Does a neckless turret have internals that go all the way up past deck level?
I think so, like the crams on the gimle. Sounds like a bad idea if you want reasonably sized turret caps, but would give plenty extra space for guns.
