- I had the opportunity to travel to South Goa lately in the month of August which is typically the monsoon season. This vlog is a compilation of the things I did in South Goa besides the wonderful beaches that the place is famous for.

Goa was predominantly Hindu before Portuguese invasion.
Officially on records 700 temples were destroyed and large section of Hindus and even some Muslim population was persecuted by Portuguese during protuguse Catholic inquisition. This is by europeans accounts only.
It just that demographic has some how to a bit regained its original number.
Your St. Xavier was leader of inquisition by Portuguese. Ironically we have lots of institutes in India named after him.

Hi Tanya! That was a good vlog! Just a thing to clarify to u, St. Francis Xavier's (at Bom Jesus Basilica, Old Goa) body was not MUMMIFIED when it was burried. Yet, it has remained intact without any use of preservatives. That's why we catholics believe it's a miracle and have a strong devotion to him.

This vlog was mostly about North Goa and Mayfair. South Goa has Agonda, Palolem, Margao, Cola, Cabo De Rama and many others. Very misleading video title.

Bom Jesus Basilica and Dona Paula are in North Goa, near to Panjim, and not in South Goa.

South Goa is the more serene half of the state, and for many travelers that’s the attraction. There are fewer activities and not as many bars, clubs or restaurants, but overall the beaches of the south are cleaner and not as crowded as those in the north.

It is amazing how the Portuguese achieved a wonderful and inclusive symbiosis in their territories in India. So different from the English and so much more inclusive.

Dear Tanya
You might have stayed in a hotel in South Goa @Mayfair beach resort & dined in a restaurant @Thefisherman's wharf, cavelossim & walked on a beach in mobor.
However the places your hotel sponsored a 'South Goa tour' via taxi IS NOT THE REAL SOUTH GOA.
Goa has only 2 districts: North & South Goa. While North Goa & it's tour points are closer there are various points in Panjim City (which is still North Goa by the way) that are treated as areas of South Goa.
Donna Paula, Mira Mar, Old Goa & even to an administrative & geographical extent Mangueshi are STILL North Goa fall in the Panjim City jurisdiction.
What is the difference?
As 2 districts, there are two Lok Sabha seats, 2 different administrations, 2 district capitals & more importantly 2 different areas.
Most tourists coming to the state firstly get the wrong impression of what is available & what is Goa. And by the time they tour ends they take back all wrong information of the state to their hometowns. I am not blaming you or other such tourists for this misconception but the govt. Of the state & it's tourism department.
The real South Goa begins beyond the Zuari bridge from Agaçaim and comprises so much more heritage and beautiful areas than North Goa. It is a peaceful & quite place but those pots are extremely far. That is why to make matters easy for your operators & hotels (&save on costs) they say South Goa as those areas; when in fact it can be rightly termed, Panjim darshan
Thank you so much for your detailed account and description. I was told at multiple points during my trip that everything south of Mandovi river is South Goa. When infact it is South of Zuari Bridge. Thank you for clarifying. :)

Tanya your vlogs are astonishing.
Also, as rightly pointed out by my fellow Goans, the places you have covered are not in South Goa. It's the North Goa Jurisdiction. Hence, two suggestions:
1. 'Goa Vlog' would be a more suited name for this video.
2. Next time you are in Goa, try visiting the real South Goa. It's more on the calmer, laid back side with less parties but with great food (like you've had at Martin's Corner and Fisherman's wharf) and beautiful scenery. (May contact me for further suggestions! :)

that was an awesome video! just a gentle suggestion ma'am, please try to minimise the use of plastic straws as they are really harmful for the environment.
Displaying non-veget.food and boring scenery does not help the missing spiritual culture in India-which is why so many are suffering there. Eating & supporting seafood is a lot more harmful than some plastic straws.

Tanya, I have a suggestion. You are fantastic at your vlogs and the way you go around covering the trips. But when you pack too many things into one single episode then it is hard to make sense out of it ( I mean value addition). Would be great if you just cover two places at the max in one episode so that viewers have more substance to watch in your videos..

Tanya ma'am your presentation is superb ,liked your video .Just one suggestion for observing a code of conduct before entering a Hindu temple one has to be on veg diet plan. You head out directly from fisherman's wharf after relishing fried prongs to the Holy Mangeshi Temple, thats unadvisable . One can move around temple premises but for actual darshan sanctity is an prime concern,

Not all the things are expensive . all type of hotels are there according ur budget & they expensive from Oct - March but if u travel Apr-Sep the cost is very low.
Most 3 nights 3 star hotel included break fast in 8000 thousands, to ata 20000 is more
