The lack of legit RPO has ruined the efficiency and rhythm of the offense. That is the problem. It's not just about the threat of Hurts running. The RPO with Hurts forces the Eagles to "dink n dunk" and run the ball. The RPO also results in quick efficient pass plays. Quick decision making. Not WRs just running go routes down the field all the time. Too many long development plays always looking for the deep shot ruined the offense. They don't need to adjust but get back to what they do well. The RPO. The defense is another story.
Other teams have figured out the RPO, and that is why it’s felling. Just like when the Wildcat formation, worked good at first, then other teams figured out how to defend against. Gimmicky formations always work like that.

Giants threw the kitchen sink at the eagles last night and had nothing to lose… they screwed themselves and pushed themselves out of range to get a top QB or Receiver or Tackle
The eagles did not end 2022 ice cold. They were so far up they could rest Hurts for 2 weeks (DAL and NO) and still finish with the 1 seed. 2023 though…
The real problem with Philly right now, more than anything else is they have no idea how to implement a non-RPO system, and Jalen can’t properly play it. Without the ability to play action or hand off the ball in front of him after the NFL banned it, he’s a shell of his 2022 self. Honestly probably the 8th-12th best QB in the league as compared to the 3rd best PLAYER.
@@DonovanFlamingusIIIJalen needs the RPO or else he’s a sub average quarterback because he’s a sub average pocket passer. That’s what Bosa meant when he said the 49ers put out a blueprint with respect to how Jalen handles the rush from within the pocket. Gonna be interesting to see what they do coaching wise.

Can Chris and Kyle discuss how the Eagles and Chiefs stood on defense after the high-scoring Super Bowl and how things got corrected in KC and went the other way in Philly? The coordinator loss + Hargrave in Philly obviously, but wondering about the inside baseball take.
Any coach who doesn't realize his QB is struggling and needs help and does not run the ball, intall blitz beaters and hide his defense who God and everyone sees is a joke should be fired💯

Think it’s a lack of confidence mixed with a bunch of other stuff obviously but when you aren’t playing with confidence you’re just not gonna win games. Guys aren’t bought into what the coaching staff is selling and you can see and feel the vibes through the tv screen… this ain’t the year for the birds and it’s gonna be interesting to see what they do in the off season
Idk, Chris- you spent time there. You know how analytical they are as an organization. There are priorities in different areas that could be influencing their performance. The way they practice to maintain health, turnovers, lack of great talent on the 2nd and 3rd levels of the defense, and front office priorities could be what we are seeing currently. To me, Howie and Jeff know the limits but are trying each and every season they can make the playoffs to win the Super Bowl. I believe a lot has changed since you have been there. This year, talent and great play alone wouldn't give any advantages, because they got worse on defense. They see each postseason as an opportunity to win a Super Bowl. Anything is possible, can you imagine if the Eagles hit the post-season fully healthy in 2018, and 2019? Look at our injuries in the secondary and at WR those years. It wasn't magic that they got back in 2022, I think they operate as a legit org, not letting one single coach or even coaching staff be the determining factor in an opportunity to be a Super Bowl-contending team.
You brought up the Patriots, and hey, they had a few SB wins in years where they weren't the 1 seed and everyone said it wasn't their year. Post-season is just getting started.
I hate what I’ve seen but I think they could be playing possum like Ocho said. Sirriani is big on not giving away anything for competitive reasons. Maybe he’s keeping it vanilla and horrible so teams Don’t have as much tape.

Chris, I disagree with you on the Saints scoring on Atlanta (on the Rich Eisen show) because "Victory Formation" was designed to protect football players - it was fortunate that the Falcons or even Saints players were not injured. This is pure stupidity by NFL players and needs to be called out, not blown over!
Fake victory formations lead to unnecessary football injuries. This affects everyone from pee-wee league to NFL. The Saints faking victory formation without strong condemnation from football commentators and ex-NFL players tells 7 year olds it's okay to fake victory formation, catch opposing players unguarded, and injure defense players who aren't (justifiably) prepared for the offense to actual run a play. Seriously why do ex-NFL players claim to promote NFL player safety then encourage unnecessary injuries with a "fake" victory formation?

Eagles need to run but won't. Their coaching is so bad that even when they have had a recipe for success against a team they do the opposite on the next game against them. I have a ton of examples. Last game last 2 against giants they didn't use Boston Scott. He was dubbed the giant killer because his best games were against the giants. They beat Tampa running. They won't run
