A refresher for straight hair wavers:
Everyone has a curl length, the straighter the hair the longer it has to be
BRUSH/comb everyday. Stick to medium or medium soft brushes till you have really long hair like OP
Flat brushes help connect, curves for the angles and crown.
For good connections no forks, at least 8mos of brushing with correct angles and cutting down the wolf every 2-6 weeks(depending on hair)

You need to brush a lot more. You should have some sort of ripples on week 8, pick up the brush and get atleast an hour a day

my wash n styles never turn out like that. My waves shift n I gotta put in mad brush work.
You probably already fixed this or don’t have waves anymore but if you plan on getting some or still have them then do this . Make sure you are brushing in the correct pattern everytime you wash and style, when you durag up make sure you aren’t pulling any hairs around your head, make sure also your durag is not too tight, if you can comfortably put two fingers in your durag which is both index finger and middle finger than it a good fit, if you can’t then it’s too tight, I also recommend washing out the shampoo and conditioner without your durag on but that’s just me

Bro its looks good! you just need your neck faded & tapered up and the sides & lined up. and good barber should be able to give you a fresh taper if you cant do it yourself.. After that your hair should be on point because you already got nice waves! and good hair! 7:08
