    Great progress loved the long Timelapses in this one, the camera angle from the roof was especially sick hope to see that again. Best car resto channel on the web hope to see some more frequent videos

      I hope so! Just the front end to worry about! Worst case scenario 2 new front wings rather than the second hand ones!

    Well done ! Your making some good ground on the welding. As for your rust on the welds moisture is a demon for fresh metal. Once I'm happy with a welding repair I spray epoxy primer mainly because it seals the work.

    KEEP GOING....she’s worth it .... not been critical... but the later cars from about 75 onwards started to use imported steel ... Spain ... Italy cos of the industrial disputes in the U.K at the time plus B.L ...cos of there cost cutting wanted to produce The Stag as cheaply as possible... Fortunately for me my Girl is a 73 and so used British Steel ... however you doing what you are doing is better than new .. best wishes and cart wait for the reassembley and paint

      thankyou! I’m going to get some weld through primer for the back wing on this side, the other side I used grease between the seam, soo using one on each side can be a test for which is better (in another 40 years hopefully!😂)

    I also have a Stag.
    It's not as rotten as this one but it does have some issues.
    There is always the temptation to sell it as-is and buy an XK8 instead.

      I'd have a Jaaaag !!! 😁
      There's also a temptation to try to get an 3.2 AJ26/27 V8 in a Stag but friggin' the ECU may be a bit tricky, even it it does fit.
      The worst that could happen ?
      I spend all of money on it, remortgage the house, fall behind on payments, get evicted, homeless, live on the streets, get a drug addiction and still no fixed Stag.

    You should consider to buy a gas saver.
    These devices are quite effective with spot welding as you stop and start welding again and again.

    • @Boothsmotors
      @Boothsmotors  6 месяцев назад

      Ahh okay I’ll look into that I’m guessing it’ll go between the actuator inside the welder and the torch? And stop that sudden surge off gas when you first press the trigger? I set my gas to ‘4’ 🤷‍♂️ on the regulator as I was told to by one of my dads mates.. not a clue if that’s correct or not!😂

    • @volkerdorr8537
      @volkerdorr8537 6 месяцев назад

      @@Boothsmotors the gas saver is installed just behind the pressure regulator..
      Without this the pressure between the regulator and the electric valve in the welder rises abruptly when the welding is stopped.
      pressing a quite amount of gas into tube.
      This gas releases as the weld is started next.
      For example in case you fill up a 1m tube, inner diameter 10 with 5 bar, this will be 390cc instead of 78ccat 1 bar for every time the trigger is pulled.
