As an irl car guy, Ive found an appreciation for the unique interior design style that each car company uses. Having them all the same in SC kinda takes me out of the experience.

The distortion damage to your components from the tunnel is a little severe, that seems to be the issue with a lot of people, too much and you just can't control your ship on exit. You can see me struggle to regain control on the first part of the loop when I exit. All great fun though.
With no shields on because someone forgot to engineer as ship that could maintain shield power between modes, Not even Drake would be a ship like that, master modes biggest failure.
In the latest few patches they have changed a few things, i,e you can switch almost immediately into combat mode which really helps slow you down. We are getting there slowly. thanks for your comment.
I believe this has now been 'fixed' in the latest build. We were meant to test tonight but unfortunately it had one blocker. I'll do another jump when we get access to retest this
Does anyone now what happens if you leave the wormhole mid flight? I remember your ship can get damaged or destroyed but that also means it might survive. Will we be able to reenter the wormhole, will we be stranded, could other parties potentially find/rescue us. Or will we maybe even be able to use it as a staging point/stash what ever by using very sturdy ships and exiting the wormhole mid flight on purpose? Just wondering if already was mentioned somewhere :)
People complain "oh but this will get tiresome after 100 times" That's the point of them. You're not supposed to go through them like you are about to shop milk at a store. They are supposed to take time, you plan the trip, you intend to stay in pyro for a while. Its not "lets go to pyro and buy a gun and go back". Then you completely missed the point of it taking time and being somewhat of a hassle to go through.
and these tunnels become much more challenging to pilot through depending on weather the connecting system has been settled or not, i believe the machines kept by the jump points some how keeps the tunnel more stable clearer for safer travel?
aren't there supposed to be different size jump points for different size of ship? At least that's when there were 100 planned systems. Was hoping that the size restriction is just a suggestion and will largely depend on wether you can avoid those obstacles easily or not. If you're a great jump pilot you can take a large ship into a smaller sized jump point with minimum damage.
Yes you are right. There are going to be different sized jump points, this one however is a fixed jump point and will allow all ship sizes. It is bigger than it looks in the video. Other transitory jump points will spawn and have to be tracked down via exploration. they will be of differing size and difficulty to navigate and last only a certain amount of time from hours to weeks.

They have some real work to do with this. They can not mess up those jumps and make them looks 2nd teir when everything else is first class. Focusing on holiistics, They need to zone in on this, It needs to feel real. Electicals flickering, Darkness in spots, More realistic sound for structural ship being tested and additional visual changes as i believe this is v1. It doesnt feel real at this stage or reflective of the universe.
They have already improved them on the last test, both the visuals and the vehicle response. Next test I'll upload another jump if we are allowed to show you the difference.

As far as I am aware the large ships will still have to traverse these jump points. I have done it in larger ships and actually feel they are easier as they are not as 'twitchy' and can take more damage.
Yes the pilot must fly for the whole duration. If you hit the sides or pillars you receive distortion damage. If you take too much damage you fail the jump and it kicks you out into a random area of the system with a distortion disabled ship. You then need to wait for the distortion to dissipate before regaining control of your ship. Hope that answers.
I like this thing, but I personally like more the Elite Dangerous travelling implementation, less complex. But this has another taste to it, idk which I actually prefer.

Unfortunately it is part of the process, Evo builds have some of these problems, this one audio is a big issue, looping tracks, distorted sounds etc. I apologise. This is why they usually do not let us release these,
They have been slowly getting better. these 4.0 tests whilst including meshing are more to test the basic stability and certain mechanics of 4.0 within that framework. hope that answers your question

The exit speed is butt clenching. Smack into an asteroid or something right after would suck. Classic SC. Hope they fix the exit velocity cause that’s way too fast for bigger ships that take 50 miles to slow down. What happens if you fly through the little “tornadoes” or go through the walls of the tunnel ???
how in the eff did they get the Idris and other cap ships thru there, there was barely enough room for the zeus in a couple of those weird buckle looking spaces. I can't imagine ferrying an entire fleet of warships thru that shit. I think cig went and made this overly complex without thinking about their own lore
What can I say, the Pyro gods were with me. You must have been on shard 070, luckily I managed to get a buddy to get me onto 090. It worked 'slightly' better.

Yes. These are Large 'stable' jumpoints that are always there and serve as gateways to other systems. Jumpoints will come in various sizes and be found through exploration and will remain open for a finite period of time and will have differing sizes. These smaller unstable jumpoints will be much more difficult to navigate. so yes you are correct.
I am positive it will be tweaked, once again please remember this is the first time they have allowed us to post EVO testing. They wanted us to test the meshing and tunnel mechanic. It will be iterated on and improved even before it reaches PTU.
Imagine this game will release with those warp tunels and every time you doing trade routes you got to pass endless tunels. Even watching it once here was boring. They are WAY to long.
Remember these tunnels are only between Star systems. Normal Quantum drive does not have this mechanic. Upon release in 1.0 years away their will only be 5 systems. You will not be doing this constantly in fact very rarely.
I dont like the tunnel animation at all. Moreover, the process is very long. But I understand that for now we have only two star systems and this jump will be entertainment for each of us for another 5-10 years until dozens of systems that have been promised to us for so long appear. God, what a shame.
It's a known bug within the test, the chirping comes from the member join notifications and hopefully will not make it even to PTU, just one of the many annoyances we put up with when doing the first tests.

Looks cool, but the pillars of whatever makes no damn sense and are blatantly there for artificial difficulty. Also, we're supposed to believe a Hull-D, Hammerhead, Reclaimer, Polaris, or an 890 Jump can dance and juke like that in an FTL tunnel? Seriously?
The larger ships should be able to handle more distortion damage, plus the tunnel is much bigger than it looks. Flying larger ships in a way is easier than smaller ones.
Wow 3min+ of boring tube... plays worse than an interactive loading screen. EVE gates and jump beacons are far better than this stupid shid. Not that we'll have to use it much with only 5 systems.

You get thrown out of the wormhole and end up at a random point in the system usually with a damaged ship. You could end up over 30G from the gate.

You get thrown out of the wormhole to some random location in the system you are in or have reached.

Flying through the tornadoes buffets you and gives distortion damage I believe, kinda hard to tell. All I know is it's not good

It's actually a lot larger than it looks, some of the bigger ships are a bit easier to fly through

Remember these tunnels are only between Star systems. Normal Quantum drive does not have this mechanic. Upon release in 1.0 years away their will only be 5 systems. You will not be doing this constantly in fact very rarely.

I dont like the tunnel animation at all. Moreover, the process is very long. But I understand that for now we have only two star systems and this jump will be entertainment for each of us for another 5-10 years until dozens of systems that have been promised to us for so long appear. God, what a shame.

no, not at all. i would really like to know what that is and how to turn it off..
It's a known bug within the test, the chirping comes from the member join notifications and hopefully will not make it even to PTU, just one of the many annoyances we put up with when doing the first tests.
Yea, also the radar pulse sound is annoying

Looks cool, but the pillars of whatever makes no damn sense and are blatantly there for artificial difficulty. Also, we're supposed to believe a Hull-D, Hammerhead, Reclaimer, Polaris, or an 890 Jump can dance and juke like that in an FTL tunnel? Seriously?
The larger ships should be able to handle more distortion damage, plus the tunnel is much bigger than it looks. Flying larger ships in a way is easier than smaller ones.

EVE gates and jump beacons are far better than this stupid shid.
Not that we'll have to use it much with only 5 systems.
