These are memories that boy will have his whole life that he'll cherish. Good job, Newbern. Makes me wish I could've done more with my own boy. Motor sounds awesome!
Can't believe you would let your son play with a pressure washer... What kind of parent are you? 😮😂 A totally awesome one who works on said son's new truck with him, and wants him to have some book smarts too. Sir.. You rock 🤟👍 Thank you for sharing the smiles.
Bro! You are the true definition of a good father. It's awesome that Lucas is into the whole car scene and not being forced on him ,ya got a great kid there, and let's not forget the great job your wife does as a mom.
I've been shopping for a stand alone system at a reasonable price that is self learning. I looked into the Ace's system as its the most cost effective. Your video just sealed it for me. This is the way I'm going to go with my 94 OBS with an LQ9 and a 5 speed. Thanks brother...🤓
These are moments to cherish your son will remember this for years to come. Great job on a father and son project. It's great when you can get the kids involved.
These memories will stay with your son for life. Outstanding, make a gearhead out of him. Austin from Lucore Auto put an ACES kit on his 1979 AMC Spirit AMX. Seems to be running great after the learning process. Good luck Dave.
At the beginning i was hoping it was Cotton that jumped out of the box lol, I really miss watching you two on your tv series you had after Finnigan left the show.Anyways i will just watch this channel you have now,now back to the video.
Cool build brother. That is awesome you are doing it for your son. I am doing a Ls3/6L80E swap in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. It's a project with my grandkids. I have the block finished and I am working on the swap harness now.
The best part about the Ace's is unlike the other brands, the ecu is separate from the tbi, which moves it away from the engine heat and helps it live longer. I bought the killshot just for that reason. The other thing is the fact that you can use any mechanical distributor to control timing. Try that with the other brands.
System works awesome I got one and easy as can be to install Maybe three hours but of course that's like after I was done and knew what it took 😅 Good luck with it
With the bolt removal, I usually weld a washer on first, then the nut to the washer. If I have to I will weld right to the broken bolt to build it up to give the washer something to grab
My dad traveled with his job our whole lives. He worked for the union AFL-CIO defending the rights of workers to try and get them a better life for their families. I never really had a dad in my life so cherish these times because life moves so fast. Sorry to hear about your dad.
I think it is funny how all the junkyard ls motors always only have 100,000 or so miles on them.. I never believe anyone that tells me this when I buy a used one.
Try to place the ECU as far as possible from the engine heat. I'm currently working on a GM SUV with ECM issues. The final verdict and culprit from the ECM failure is... time and heat. In most GM, the ECU gets exposed to the engine heat, causing them to fail when the engine bay reaches 130 degrees. (There was a long troubleshooting process to find it out.) Now, on my 56 Chevy, the ECU is inside the car and never had a problem with it.
So nice to see a father and son project. He'll remember this and appreciate it more, I'm sure. Question, is it hard to get these vehicles titled in Georgia? I've got a few cars and trucks, most have titles, but one has a bill of sale only. Great video!
i want to try Aces efi, but i see so many horror stories... it was be a great addition to my 73 Charger Small block, but alot of money for something that may or may not work..
They are very competitive and have faster processing than Holley. My Killshot top end kit is better than what Holley has and was $300+ cheaper. For dang near the exact same setup without being identical. Very happy with this system. Company is a bunch of good old boys out of Tennessee.
well...if I ever swap my gen 1 Tundra...I'll have to look at Aces setup... Are they former (insert common name that rhymes with Dollie) employees or what? had enough of the heavy corporate BS and made a stellar product without the marketing whizbangery?
I just don’t get your channel. What exactly is it supposed to be? You mostly talk about what you’re doing to do and what you did, but very seldom show yourself actually doing something.
What a gift to your son, and I'm not talking about the truck, he will watch this video in 50 yrs and treasure it.
These are memories that boy will have his whole life that he'll cherish. Good job, Newbern. Makes me wish I could've done more with my own boy. Motor sounds awesome!
Great video! Your son's expression when it started was awesome.
Great father and son interaction, nothing better in life than that!
I was excited as he was to see it start. Great father and son project.
That’s cool, C10 I liked it. Specially teaching your son how to work on these vehicles pass it along.

I am shocked you do not have more subscribers. The introduction of your son to the channel is wonderful. Keep up the great work!!

Awesome! Glad to hear you joined the Aces Family. I am loving the Killshot on my 66. ;)

Getting him involved he will have pride in the truck.
These are moments to cherish your son will remember this for years to come. Great job on a father and son project. It's great when you can get the kids involved.
My favorite people are trying out Aces! Gets me excited for when I get around to making my video on it too!

Really enjoyed that video! Doing great Dad!😊
I just installed an Aces Killshot Top End Kit on my 85 cj7 SBC swap. Love it!

Your channel just keeps getting better Dave!
I can’t wait to experience this with my boy ❤️❤️
Been happy with my aces system for a long time. They are really that simple.
Same here.

Nice old truck.... boy going to love it.
Love ya Dave, I think you and Tony Angelo are the realest car dudes on RUclips….
Keep up the fine work 🇦🇺🤘
Great episode Dave. Your boy is going to be switched on pretty well in a few years. Good on ya mate.
Lucas is the best! Newbern - Great Job!.
I have a 72 factory 4 wheel drive long bed that same blue with the white top. Cool truck.
Love the father son project!!!! way to go dad

I had to watch it twice, got lost in the father son bond and had no idea what you did in the video so I had to watch it again for the truck😭👍🏼
He's going to remember every lesson you teach him.... especially looping transmission cooler lines.. lol
You are a Great Father !
Great job guys!
Awesome truck. My first truck was a 1972 c10 shoet bed.
System works awesome
I got one and easy as can be to install

Good job dad, he’s gonna be tickled about that 👍
Cool video 12 VOLT teaching 6 VOLT!!
Our 1980 K10 (hope to get it on our channel one day) is getting the Aces setup too! Those people are top notch!! Can’t wait!!
My dad traveled with his job our whole lives. He worked for the union AFL-CIO defending the rights of workers to try and get them a better life for their families. I never really had a dad in my life so cherish these times because life moves so fast. Sorry to hear about your dad.
Another great video 👍👍
My dad had a GMC around that era and that purple was a factory colour on his. (C20 396 4 speed 2x4 )
I have a killshot unit on my sons ‘67 mustang c code coupe….it made a night and day difference in that lil 289
I think it is funny how all the junkyard ls motors always only have 100,000 or so miles on them.. I never believe anyone that tells me this when I buy a used one.
Love it!
Dave you are a great dad! But you have had a lot of experience working with children (Cotten). Keep up the great work,
Good stuff David.
Hell yeah 👍🏻 goals
That looks pretty simple .Think I might go this way. I have A 5.3 no wiring . See some had problems with the Holly set up.
You have a good lad
Jackpot tbi may need a little extra fuel offset. For start up I normally add 20% then work my way back down.

this is how we should be raising our children...
Lucky kid, you can adopt me.😂😂😂
😍😍
I Know a guy that used to have a really nice blue C10 that just like everything else. He sold. You think maybe you can hold onto this one? Lol
🤘😎🤘
DAVE THE MENSCH!!

since you have a P/S pump w/ manual steering, why not find a used hydroboost. Makes camshaft selection easy when you want to upgrade.
Hay they sent plenty of T shirts instead of the valve cover. I saw you had the second one later. Did they make it good? Or did paint the old one.?
It was probably scent a few days later, the people at Ace's EFI are just amazing for support.
That will make a Daddy proud
19:04 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can you tell us more about the Aces FI system please?
"Not homewuuuurrrrkkkk"
Lol
One valve cove's all you need, right?🤣🤣🤣😅
i want to try Aces efi, but i see so many horror stories... it was be a great addition to my 73 Charger Small block, but alot of money for something that may or may not work..
I know of three kits in my circle that seem to be doing well. I’m about to order two more for my projects
By the time he's able to drive, that truck will have 1000 horse power 😅
The copey cat of holley
Did you find the other valve cover or have to call them and cut that
David, do you have a rough idea what thet kit cost with the intake, wiring and everything? Did it come with a fuel pump as well?
My 14 yo son and i are building him a 67 c10 trying to decide if he wants an ls or sbc
You have such a cute boy Dave. He must look just like your wife!!!😂
Does that need the DOD delete?
Was curious myself
sweet sure that kit was a spendy dog

What happened to the motor trend show?
Homework???? he's a gear head through and through already! he dont need to do no stinkin homework............. but don't tell Mrs.12 volt I said that!
well...if I ever swap my gen 1 Tundra...I'll have to look at Aces setup...
Are they former (insert common name that rhymes with Dollie) employees or what?
had enough of the heavy corporate BS and made a stellar product without the marketing whizbangery?
Please don't change the wheels on that truck!
