- Watch the moving encounter between Zubin Mehta and the orchestra. After 50 years as Music Director (1969-2019), it's difficult not to be nostalgic and reminisce. And this time a memory of Dvorak's Seventh Symphony, which Mehta will be conducting this week.

Maestro Mehta has been my favorite conductor since his first concert as music director of the NYP. I love the relationship he has with Israel. ❤
Salutations from India to Maestro Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic

Ehre dem Alter und gleichzeitig Verehrung..wunderschön anzusehen
All my respect MAESTRO!!! ( I had the chance of greeting YOU here ( Buenos Aires) in the 90's. YOU were SO kind! SO great!
Mr. Mehta, I will never forget how you conducted the New Year's concert of the Vienna Philharmonic. I had tears of happiness and emotion. Thank you.
Great maestro.Baruch Atah...
That happened to me with an Italian orchestra. The lights went off, and we finished the first act of "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" in the dark.
Big loving hug Maestro Mehta, eternal gratitude gorgeous performers that made of our lives a better place, music is our family and we will never be apart anymore, music is our salvation from any evil threat, music is protecting us ...from losing minds for good, you are saving lives guys, never stop believe in, never give up spreading good vibes. If we care to have FAITH and follow our inner feelings, well, we have to get involved and improve human body health in order to keep up our hearts, so we could spend some more time feeling fine together...if men of power would be so busy on saving lives instead of getting busy in war disputes and make us feel like dying with no reason 😢😢😢😢yeah, there's so much work to do, really a lot. If human life is not Holy Blessing to be saved and protected...we are nothing. Music is teaching us how important is feeling precious, how time is precious...to the last breath, we deserve a better fate❤🎉❤

Best orchestra and best conductor💙
Yeah right
That was a nice, sweet story. That happened to us too but the lights were out for only 7 or 8 seconds so - no problem - and we were playing an easy Sousa march.
Brilliant 👍
I was lucky enough to meet Zubin Mehta when I was playing timpani in the Beverley Hills Philharmonic Orchestra. He was with a Gorgeous blonde female companion at the time.He watched intently me playing that iconic solo from Shostakovich 1
Salutations de France à ce géant de la direction d'orchestre qu'est Zubin Mehta et à l'Orchestre Philarmonique d'Israel.
Greetings from Bilbao, close to San Sabastian
Sin duda que cuando entra el Maestro Mehta hay que ponerse de pie. Un grande entre los grandes.
Love you, Zubin...God bless you and yours.
Zubin Mehta is openly proud of his Indian background, unlike another fellow Parsi Indian, who fronted Queen.
Thank you Israel for everything 🎻.

Didn’t he retire already? At least three times that I can recall.
It's hard to retire when you have reached the top - it's like trying to get off the heroin habit - almost impossible. Look at Herbert Blomstedt too. He just can't put that baton down. On the other hand, Carlos Kleiber (much better than either of these two guys) was averse to conducting - he had to be coaxed by big bucks.
@@violinhunter2 i was sarcastic. I don’t agree with anything you wrote… unfortunately it’s beyond of my capabilities to even start to explain it to you.
@@GR-hl4gk Don't waste your time explaining anything - I wouldn't understand it anyway - my IQ is only 89.
