I found the exact same problem on a F-250 today because of you sir. Easy fix. Shame on Ford at this point, considering this is a critical safety system (SRS) that's disabled. A simple routing change could easily fix the issue. Glad my Ford purchasing customer didn't need the SRS in the collision the truck was involved in.
Great information, thanks Alan. I see that Mondeo has 267k miles - shows it has been really well maintained. Fair play to you and your colleagues. Cheers. Vivian.
Imagine you get that code and you go to your local garage. How long would it take and how many sensors and airbags would you have to pay, before real problem would be found? 🤔 Thanx Alan, great video, easy fix. 👍👏
hi Alan love watching your videos helped me do a few non "big "jobs on my mk4 i had something happen to it today basically it wouldnt start from the button tried fob in the column no joy its a 10 plate titanium x 2 l diesel any ideas pls mate
Alan ,,,,, on a mk3 galaxy which uses the same steering wheel there has been a recall on airbags due to the gas going bad in it, maybe worth seeing if the problem is also on a mondeo
Great info my friend. I have an MK5 model 2015 and the passenger airbag from dash has been replaced. A Second Hand connector is on it but is not so fixed in the airbag connector. Is there an option to see how this connector should be fixed on the airbag in order not to have the airbag light on? BR Florin
Alan, i noticed the car had done 267,200 miles what mileage do you expect it to do before you replace it, and is that the reason the firm runs Mondeo’s because they are that good, i mean that mileage in six years , ridiculous .
Alan, I’m thinking about upgrading from my 57 reg MK4 Mondeo to a 66 reg Mk6 Titanium 2.0 , wondering what would you do ? I’m wondering if the newer ones are as reliable as my older model? Thanks Bob 🙏
Hi Alan I’m getting code : b1126 - 11 , drivers side, side air bag deployment control circuit short too ground. Would this be similar but on the drivers side? Any idea where to investigate first? Thanks!
it would be worth checking the wiring plugs under the seat, you don't have to remove the seat, pull the plug connectors apart and reconnect them, check for broken wires although i not had any broken wires on the drivers seat, more than likely it is the clock spring assembly behind the steering wheel that is faulty
Hi Alan was wondering if you can help me I have a ford mondeo mk5 2lt d and spanner light comes on if u put you foot down like 2 and 3 gear then reduce power not like limp mode but not full power and took it to the garage they said oil pressure sensor light come on the obd they said just service it so they serviced it and not done it again 2 days after just wanted if you ever had this problem with them be four as I don't want to keep putting money into it if it's the fault
Hey Alan I would of loved to of brought my mk4 mondeo titanium x sport to you it’s got a snapped bolt that’s been welded in to the crank pulley by the previous owners mechanic mate you’d have to laugh if you seen it

I wonder if this is why my passenger heated seat has stopped working on my MK2 ford focus st, seems to be a really common fault
