Mme Alonso is always in style at the moment of impersonating Mme Taglioni; I have seen other Taglioni, but never as Alonso is.... Mme Slavenska so charming and fresh as Mlle Cerrito..... Miss Melissa Hayden in the role of Mlle Grissi so "coquette" and so "a l'aise" in her evolutions and last but not least Mrs. Nora Kaye in the role of Mme Grahn so beautifully rendered an so elegant!!!! What a masterpiece..... This is pure joy to behold!!!!!!

Interesting how this is faster and more condensed than the other beautiful versions posted on RUclips. Some measures of music have been cut out altogether, probably in order for this to take up the few minutes permitted for this television slot. I am sure the ballerinas must feel a little rushed. I wonder what the ballerinas must have thought of this. This is so enchantingly beautiful in all its different versions. Thanks for posting this. I feel so lucky to be able to see and hear this.
Very nice indeed. Some might say that Alonso's title of assoluta is devalued as it is from Castro. After seeing her dance, she certainly rates the title along with Ulanova, Plisetskaya and Fonteyn. These four ladies are legends, and it is doubtful we will see their like again. Alicia Alonso is a true Prima Ballerina Assoluta.
Only the more stupid person in the world could doubt that Alicia is a prima absolutta ballerina as only the more stupid can no see any thing related to cuba and keep Castro and politic out.
A real treasure! Not much video of Nora Kaye or Slavenska. This version does depart in several ways from the Dolin setting, but why nit-pick. I'm just thankful to see Alonso when she was astounding.
To tell you the truth, I love Alicia Alonso; however, with that said, I really enjoyed seeing Nora Kaye -- first time seeing her dance. Loved her dimples. -- Great to see, but not my favorite Grand Pas de Quatre, but nevertheless, interesting to see.
