I'm trying to make my website more complete and it occurred to me not everyone knows how to read guitar tablature. So here it is, a Beginner's Guide to Reading Guitar Tablature. I hope this is helpful, it's been so long since I learned to read guitar tab myself I don't even recall what was difficult to grasp and what was easy. 8-) Take your time, be patient.

Make sure your fingers aren’t hitting any other strings and you’re pressing down hard enough on the strings you’re playing on

Thanks for this video, I was about to freak out when I first saw those weird symbols. At first I thought it was some kind of HTML crap. Ughh now I'm getting a little bit of PTSD from my Introduction To Interactive Programming class I had last year, lol
I skipped this video so many times and not only did I figure out what to do with X but also that it's ok to use 1st and 3rd fingers on the first 5 frets which gave me motivation.
Very well explained whereas other channels focus on viewership and "high quality" instead of actually explaining.

That's when you stum the guitar with your pinky toe. Very difficult.
Basically just touch the string(s) you want to mute, without applying pressure
