Guangzhou is so underrated. With its gleaming subways (as you showed), extraordinary food (nowhere else in China compares), and entrepreneurial spirit, it’s the perfect big city in which to live. Thanks for showcasing it!

go Yum Cha(drink tea), eat Dim Sum(have small dishes and snacks). Cantonese used to do these in the morning since long long ago. but nowadays you can have them from morning till mid-night
I love this video - its so charming! 15:45 as a tip though, you're supposed to take the food and put it on the white bowl on the left (that's your designated eating bowl). You're not supposed to eat directly from the big bowl that the foods comes in :-)

17:55 i think they forgot to give you a teacup for the tea haha, you were drinking it out of a bowl. You can drink tea to cleanse your palatte as the food can be salty/ strong flavour while the tea is light and fragrant
I saw the teacup at 8.33. They normally washed the the cup in hot water. I don't know what happened. May be he used it to put in soy sauce.

The restaurant you went to is quite famous in Guangzhou，there is a saying in China called "Eat in Guangzhou"，are you planning to live in guangzhou，I remember that there is an area in Guangzhou where many black people live, and that place is where many black people do business， you can check it online or ask the locals

I spent 10 months in China in 2010, I was so afraid of the food from the stereotypes I arrived with that I ate only pizza hut pizza and egg fried rice for almost two months until a night I went out , got a little drunk and ended up outside the club with other drunk Chinese guys at a stall selling all kinds of exotic grilled food... Your reaction in this video reminds me of me when I put the first piece of squid in my mouth 😂. Love the videos brother!❤

I was in Guangzhou a few weeks ago. They say there's too many Africans there, but I only saw a few.
There're 200,000-300,000 Africans living and doing business in Guangzhou (Sanyuanli, to be specific)
@@xiaoq8329 That was probably the case before covid. They are much fewer now, some went back home and some moved to Yiwu. I made a video about it, will upload it soon on my channel.
Chicken feet taste delicious. Here in Jamaica we sometimes curry them and serve them over rice and vegetables.

Tzao Cha is also called Dim Sum in the US. Most are varieties of dumplings and fried morsels. The best foods from Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Yes they do serve porridge, too, but you skipped so many dishes. If I have money I would go every weekend (expensive in Los Angeles). Next time you stop by this kind of rerstaurant order shumai and the lotus wrap chicken rice Lo Mai Gai (糯米雞)

Wrong, the best place for Cantonese food you need to go to South East Asia, Malaysia and Singapore. etc That's the original unaltered taste, can be confirmed by older generation Chinese. The ones you get in China is more likely 被改动过的

It’s called Chinese dim sum. It’s usually eaten during breakfast, lunch or even dinner. The steam chicken feet and shrimp dumplings are very common dim sum. Next time you should order a small bowl of rice for the chicken feet . It goes well with rice and for the shrimp dumplings you should dip it in soy sauce or chilli sauce. It will be more delicious. I think that was rice noodle /roll and not nian gao /rice cake.
I used to think chicken feet was weird, but it's literally just eating chicken skin, which is where the flavour is.
There's so many different ways to prepare, such that the taste and texture is different just from how it's done

Chicken feet are eaten all over the world ! It’s fairly expensive when prepared right ! But when the bone is left in , you do not eat the bones ! That’s what that little white bowl is for … you spit out the bones !!
Why would they put a spoon in the white bowl if it is only for the spent bones?

Cantonese is called yum cha 茶。
原来是陶陶居啊，难怪早茶这么贵。但是他们家的味道很好，历史非常悠久。

Can't really see the appeal of chicken's feet myself, tried it once and it's mainly bones and cartilage, no meat on them whatsoever.😅 the Cantonese have Dim Sum for breakfast or lunch btw. Bro,you just poured the tea into a bowl,just ask for a cup,lol.
