Wow, well done! My watch towers are much smaller. I put: - 4x concrete blocks as the base. 3x floors high (everything is concrete) I put a bed and fire on the middle section, lower section will have a box with supplies going from or to a region. And the top level will have a partial roof with plants growing. The top level will have support beams on the edge holding it up. it just works lol. I've got on Prometheus ( the DLC map ) 3x main bases and 12x watch towers which act as transition areas.
just a tip, instead of doing each beam independently, think of it as 2 squares (2x2) 45 degree superimposed on each other.. if you build 1 (2x2) square floor then build another 45 degrees from one beam so its more accurate in the height. that way you will have 2 distinct grids instead of 8 :D i did it from the center beam and it doesn't mesh in the corners nicely as yours but it still works for me! great video.
Thanks for the tip! I was puzzling your comment though, your going to have to show me how you do that, as I played with some geometry and can't recreate using 2x2's
@@icarus-firstcohort-basebui9026 yea i have the video on my channel where i use the center beam to stack beam inside each other then i extend outwards in all directions. it is only 2 beams thats in the center, so its 2 different grids, but like i said the corners dont exactly fit together if you extend 2 beams out, but if you extend 5 beams out they kinda do, i just wasnt smart enough to do the geometry of it. towards the end of my video i show the 5 beam and how it almost fits nicely. i can share the link but YT will block it due to promotion.
@@icarus-firstcohort-basebui9026 tbh your builds look absolutely amazing, and i was inspired to do the octagon video after watching your circular builds. I couldnt do the circular way so i came up with the octagon trick using the Cardinal direction as guides, made it so much easier placing beams.
Peter not sure on this vid half way through it seems to go mad and starts to speed up tried watching it on the phone to see if it was just me and its the same thing any chance you can take a look and see if there is a problem

Veeery nice, congrats !
It's a survival game, I have a single question.
What's the use at this watchtower ?
Only to demonstrate you can build-it ?

i say half way in its actually 7 mins and 14seconds
@@andrewmein8003 Yes, that was intentional, since it's just repetition stuff... it timelapses to 7:50 then goes back to normal on the next section
@@icarus-firstcohort-basebui9026 cheers Peter
nice one, better build on crouch mode so you don't fall
