We could be mistaken, but the new 12 route hot route system, as well as the way custom stems work are unique. Which CFB games do you believe this was in before?
It was just a clip from a trailer. No one knows how the defense will play in CFB 25 at this point. We won't speak poorly of something without giving it a chance.
Finally, I hated when madden allowed certain qbs to have that extra hot route ability when they are not on fire…cough cough Tom Brady lol. Might as well give it to every qb.
It'll be hard for any simulation style football game to look too much different than another. CFB does typically play quicker than Madden though and EA has stated that was the goal again.
There was some mobile game with NFL licensing back in like 2014 where you could literally draw your own routes and add them to your own playbook. The fact that it’s 2024 and this is now the most anticipated sports game ever on next gen exclusive and it still looks like a slight upgrade over madden is insane. Like how tf do you not have high school in road to glory? I just don’t understand how years go by and you lose features. One of the most annoying to me was the loss of all time rosters for franchise mode made by EA. Like why do they exist in freaking madden 12 but not madden 16?
In regards to drawing the play, that was in earlier Madden's as well and honestly we're happy it's not in the game anymore lol. People would break the game too easily these days with a feature like that. It is frustrating however when certain other mechanics/features don't come back.
With that attitude, it'll be impossible for them to ever make a product you enjoy. Have to give it a chance before you form an opinion. Hopefully they can change your mind!

Smart stems were in crb before but it only altered the yardage to the forst down marker.
That's smart routing and definitely was similar but this is much more unique.
You can make the route depth whatever you want. That’s not the same thing
I don’t think you can adjust ANY receiver’s route, it’s just the primary receiver from what I saw on the blogs, nice vid tho
Appreciate that! We saw that wording as well, but hope to see it implemented for any receiver on the field. It will really open up the passing game.

They've talked about how that was a focus for them as well! They want to give the users more control and have less animations you're sucked into.
In NCAA 14 we could change or add a route but we couldn't do the distance setting.
Yeah, the full customization of the length of the route is a brand new mechanic to our knowledge!

Custom stems should be discontinued. It’s not realistic. Everybody hot routing their fingers off tryna get some fairytale playcall
