I know you were saying in the past that you don't really enjoy knitting socks, but I find that small stockinette projects in between bigger/more complicated projects is such a good way to have a mindless fidgeting project while you're watching movies and stuff! I'm still building up my accessory wardrobe so I'm currently more into things like fingerless gloves, headbands, leg warmers etc. but I've put a few socks in my queue for when I'm sick of winter accessories!
honestly i feel like this NEEDS to be the year i get into socks once and for all hahah considering i really want filler projects AND i have so many random skeins of sock yarn that i don't know what to do with! but fingerless gloves & leg warmers are such a good idea too, i forgot those existed!!
I can relate to so much of this 💖 love what you were saying about the intersect of engineering and creativity, and learning more about colour theory! I’ve also been reframing how I view gauge swatches and actually started enjoying just random experiments with different yarn and stitch combinations, with no specific project in mind. You could do stuff like this as your fidget knitting as it’s so low commitment and could also use up scrap yarn 😊
wait that's genius!! i think i'm gonna spend some time doing a bunch of fun colorwork swatches just to have a low-commitment way to play around! and even if they don't turn into bigger projects eventually, it'll still be a fun way to pass my fidget time and give me some cute inspo to hang up on my walls :) thanks so much for suggesting!
Aw i felt for you when you talked about your tendonitis! I got terrible knitters elbow in December this year too and it was devastating. I had to put some big projects on hold which was a huge bummer, but in the process I realized how important it is to care for my body! Thanks for bringing this up
I found your channel and insta just recently but you're one of my favorite designers already❤ can't wait to finish all my wips to start knitting your designs🎉❤
the test knit is wrapping up at the end of february, so i'm hoping to launch it the first week of march as long as i don't get any surprising last minute feedback! all seems to be going well so far though :) thank you so much!
In order to use up my stash I picked up crochet! Much easier for me to use with smaller projects, gifts, and home decor rather than trying to create a large garment
that's a really good idea!! i do think home decor seems like a good option for some of the random colors i have that probably wouldn't fit into the rest of my wardrobe!
Come to the dark side!!! ((It’s sock knitting & I love it)) Hahaha, but really socks are great and super functional. Tiny, headband-sized hair scarves have also taken over my life this past year! Super fun and satisfying to knit and really wearable for me
socks are definitely calling to me 👀 i think i just didn’t like the yarn from the last pair i knitted so i should really give them another try!! hair scarves sound so cute too! i really need to round up a bunch of good palate cleanser projects and then go through my yarn in VT and see what might work well together!
I don't know if this is a thing you'd be interested in but I've found knitting little objects a fun way to use up odd bits of yarn. And they make cute little gifts.

aw i'm so sorry you got it too! i think it's something that a lot of us probably struggle with, so you're definitely not alone!

that means so much, thank you for saying that!! 🥺💗
Is the pattern out yet for what you are wearing?! I love it!!

I love knitting socks. But I also do things like dishcloths and facecloths, placemats, around the house accessories as my mindless knits sometimes.
honestly more home decor and accessories is such a good idea for those filler projects!!!
