Ow ow ow! My Mum slipped in our kitchen a couple of years ago and did very similar damage to what's unfortunately happened to you :( Spiral fractures are no joke, can only imagine how traumatic the fall was. I had corrective surgery (they essentially broke my leg in 3 places) a number of years ago to fix a deformity in my leg that I was born with, it put me out of Parkour for 10 months and that upset me a lot, but I got back there! You have youth on your side so hopefully the healing process is trouble-free and you're back skating soon! Subbed, keen to follow your journey to returning to skating!
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's fall! It honestly was traumatic as it was also my first real broken bone 🙃 I'm glad to hear that your corrective surgery helped!! I can sympathize with being upset about being out of a sport. I'm devastated that I can't go out and skate for at least 6 months but I know that healing is the most important thing to do. Thank you for the words of encouragement and thank you for subscribing! ☺️
whoa! I'm so sorry that happened! It was kind of weird seeing you post this bc I'm a pretty new skater too and recently I fell for the first time and boke my wrist. My injury isn't as bad yours but it still sucks!! I totally feel you on the shock bit. was trail skating by myself and had to walk about a half mile after breaking my wrist to get back to my car. That first moment of knowing it's broken is just like, time speeds up and slows down all at once. The worst part of it all for me is that multiple people have responded to the news in the same way: "well i bet you learned your lesson!". This pisses me off so much! What lesson exactly? that I shouldn't do one of the few things that makes me feel joyous? Most of us know what we're getting into when we start, and I always let them know that I can't wait to get back on my skates. I'll hopefully be out of my cast in a week and then maybe a little pt before I skate again. I'm glad you haven't lost heart. you're amazing and I'm wishing you a speedy recovery! Thank you for sharing your story!
Falls, both major and minor, defiantly humble you in my experience. I am glad to hear that your break wasn't as bad!! But I am sorry to hear that you as well has a break. There will always be those people that think that everything is a "life lesson" which is always so upsetting to hear. I mean you could fall wrong walking off the sidewalk and break your leg, we just do it a little faster (lol!). As long as I am able to physically walk, I will be skating. Thank you so much! I hope your recovery and PT goes smoothly!
My grandma had a spiral break in her left ankle 20yrs ago. She had a long road of recovery, and 2 surgeries (1st one was the bad drs mistake). Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Thankfully my wrist and thumb have healed and I didn't need another cast. Is this the first time you break a bone? I really hope the last as well. Best wishes and take care
You'll be better in time. You can do videos about your new routine with the crutches, cast and all or stuff like that, try to stay positive. Hope you heal asap.
How is your leg? Are you in a cast? I really hope not. I was in a cast. I broke my wrist and thumb playing soccer. I had my third cast removed months ago. Have a full and speedy recovery. Have a wonderful day
My leg is doing okay! I will be posting an update here soon. I was lucky enough to not need a cast but I am in a walking boot. Having multiple casts is no fun! Do you have a fourth cast on or are you healed now? Thank you so much!
My friend did an amazing job keeping me calm and it was so helpful. I learned after the fact that he had issues coming back to the park for a while but I see him around every so often! Skating alone can be fun, but I always recommend having at least one friend (if not just one other person) at the skatepark with you and do not skate past exhaustion!
Oh no that's awful, especially after such a short time at the park. Skating is the one sport that got me hooked on sports, I'd be devastated if I got such an injury. Hope you are healing well.
Thank you! I was for sure devastated after it happened but I'm happy that it wasn't worse! I am doing a lot better and healing has been going great. Its a slow process but I want it to be as strong as possible when I get back on skates ☺️
im so sorry this happened! glad to see from your videos that you are recovering and you are doing better
Thank you!!
Very sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident. Hope to hear more about your healing Journey. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Best wishes take care
Thank you so much!
Absolutely no worries. Have a wonderful evening

By the way, will you be in a cast or boot?

Have a cast?
No. I find out tomorrow if I need one!
Poor Moose ☹This made me cringe so bad,🙈I would have fainted probably if I was your friend. good lesson: never skate alone
