Well done guys. Good to see you got to Lanzarote safely. We're still in Greece with our boat. Still doubting whether we should sail back home to the Netherlands or transport her by truck from France/Slovenia.... After seeing this passage, I'm not so sure anymore... Luckily we still have two more years Med ahead of us. Enjoy the Canary Islands and stay safe!!!
They say the gibraltar to canary passage is the worse one. Which was for us, but we left in November/December. If you leave earlier the weather is a bit calmer
Video never gives waves their justice, they always look smaller. I never say how big the waves were, but I can say once I was making passage to st tom, one day by 3 in the afternoon the waves were so tall, when I was down in the trough I could look up and see the sun through them t'was one of the coolest sights of my life.
Wow that sounds incredible, we were lucky we had the enclosed cockpit because it gave us a false sense of security, watching the waves through the clears was like watching them on tv 😆
we tried to get the boat into gibraltar but the marina is under construction so they weren't allowing boats in! we stayed in la lines but spent all our time in Gibraltar getting boat parts and exploring etc
@@SailingSunday I had trouble too but the problem is that La Linea is Schengen. I went into Gibraltar 3 times and first time, I stayed 2 nights at La Linea but I managed to get into the “other” Gibraltar marine Queensway Quay Marina. Huge problem with Marina Bay/Ocean Villiage, since they bought what was Shepperds Marina, is they’re trying to set it up as something like Monaco in the west. So building works have been underway for years - and they don’t want budget-oriented sailors anyway. Sad because it must’ve been very handy with Sheperds marina fronting onto Sheperds Chandlery.
You are lucky that you didn't sailed against that waves 😂😂😂 .. i think was more adrenaline 🤪🤪. More details about the docking and expenses please.. im very curious.
Yeah that would have been terrible!!! We should make a video on that soon, after 3 seasons in the Med sailing full-time I feel like we probably have some good knowledge!
Guys know exactly what you're going thru. In November I've circumnavigate Corsica from Imperia Italy. My friend recently bought his 34 outremer a steel boat, and he wanted to test her. So we (3 of us) left knowing the forecast was force 8 to 10 gale. 25 to 35 knts of wind and a swell of 2,5 Mt's waves, so we were kind of prepared, we had safety meeting before departure etc. After 40-50 mls we've got hammered starting 30 knts ending with 50 knts and 4,5 to 5 Mt's swell. Autopilot was out of order, the boat had a bar as helm. We were turning 4 hrs each during the day and 2 hrs during the night. So you steer 2 hrs and rest 4 in the nigh. I did 19:00 hr to 21:00 hr we had been hammered for a couple of hrs already. Did my guard, my friend took over and started throwing up, he just couldn't so I did his guard to. To give you an idea I've worked on cruise ships, large and small, for 10 yrs and I own a 30' and sail regularly, never been sick in my life ever. But after a while, I got sick as well. I bet my friend throwing up constantly next to me didn't help me. So I had one hand on the helm bar, with the other hand I was holding a bucket. Even the instrument 's lights bothered me. So switched all lights and just followed the stars and compass. The owner of the boat was the only one feeling OK. Anyway 4 days and 4 nights like that, could eat, couldn't drink, was freezing cold, on the 5th day democratically we voted on what to do. 2 to 1 voted for seeking a bay or small fisherman's port to go. On west Corsica there isn't much, it was a Bank Holiday, Nov 2nd no one responded on VHS. We checked the chart and found a liitle port, but we had to be fast because the entrance very small, not much water below, and current and tide not on our favour. But we've made it. So this was your turn, but I rather call it a badge of honor. You can be proud of yourselves. And considering we're you were things can change in minutes. We'll done
that' sounds horrible!!! It can definitely get a bit crazy around there, we've hid from a few storms along the Italian coast up there lol... The worse part is, we always say never again, but know one day in the future we will hit weather like that again somewhere!
Ya'll finally did it!! Leave the Med. And et to warmer climes, Atlantic can be a bitch, but, with right window you're gonna be fine... Ya'll got friends waiting on you. Happy Valentine's Day sailors!!!!!
I hope ewes left some big wind n swell for our crossing later this year 🎈…does Jackson have some tips for our boat dog Dino for the crossing🤔…apart from clean up me shit please 😂
haha, Actually, slipping around is the hardest for them. The boat was geared up 100% for the dog lol, non slip all inside the boat, we found laying our old cockpit cushions on the floor around the table was the best for upstairs. That was his safe spot where he slept most the time. We have Teak Decks so he doesn't slip on the teak when he goes up to pee! And every now and then, wherever we were, we would turn dead down the swell, motor on and cruise down smoothly with the waves for 15 minutes for a toilet break if it was a bit uncomfortable for him.
The keel is so heavy we should always roll back upright. I don't know if we got the best footage, but halfway across the Atlantic Ocean (coming up soon) we hit the worse storm of our lives... Waves crashing over the Bimini, prop and rudder out of the water... 4hrs of hell..... I thought then the boat might roll, but handled it very well. I think it would have to be hurricane conditions to roll a sailboat though
might I suggest next time you search "ocean views" in RUclips if that's what you want to see......this is a vlog lol.....about us.....and our journey lol
....thanks for your Video👍👍😍....you're so nice and still so smart and funny in these stressed "rolling waves situations"👍👍👍😇....and for me still magnificent how Jackson managed "Everything" inbetween 6 metres of waves....stay relaxed... and when you go back in mind....wonderful how everything works ...👍⛵👍...🏆🏆🏆......🐾🐾👣👣⛵🤩😃

For Aussies in a High class Ultra Sailing Vessel you guys sure do whine alot about swells ,,, ha ha ha ,,,,, Why is everyone wearing a harness in a totally enclosed cockpit ?? If a Rogue did roll you I wouldn't want to be fighting to get unhooked and find my way up for daylight and air. That condominium type enclosure i'd guess would keep everyone pretty safe on an near knockdown.
We hate swell 😆😂 The enclosure is great, but if we rolled, the boat should always correct itself because of the keel! There’s only 1 rule, stay on the boat! 😂

So no propane in Gibraltar?
They wouldn’t refill our bottles! 😆
People want to view the ocean. I think this guy in love with him self the whole video is about him .
might I suggest next time you search "ocean views" in RUclips if that's what you want to see......this is a vlog lol.....about us.....and our journey lol
So you’re on time today 😂😂😂😂
both from Adelaide were 1st today!! Woohoo!!
👍👍👍👍👍
Nice to see you sailing even though it didn't look all that much fun. Still was awesome and Jackson is a great sea dog👍
It was only bad for that 24hrs, mainly overnight, but once it was over it was great again! Jackson is a champion, he handed it very well!
where does the dog go potty?
We knew the bad weather was coming overnight, so we prepared him and took him before and after. We have some fake grass on the bow that he uses.
❤️❤️❤️
🥰🥰🥰
....thanks for your Video👍👍😍....you're so nice and still so smart and funny in these stressed "rolling waves situations"👍👍👍😇....and for me still magnificent how Jackson managed "Everything" inbetween 6 metres of waves....stay relaxed... and when you go back in mind....wonderful how everything works ...👍⛵👍...🏆🏆🏆......🐾🐾👣👣⛵🤩😃
He’s definitely an awesome boat buddy, so calm and relaxed on passage, ow if only we could get him to be like that on land! Haha
“Does auntie know orcas aren’t really whales? They are actually closer to dolphins” - your 4nado know it all niece
Haha she just continues to outsmart me, I need to start watching nat geo wild again to keep up with her
You play the music very loud..

97k views but only 1.9k liked and 18.1k subscribed. Gotta sex it up and add the fun to your life. It is great what you do for animals and such, your sailing and linking up great. Meals are fun and affordable and healthy to a degree. Warm weather and bikini, maybe Ryan wear a speedo once or twice, some abs. Round up your menu of what you film and display. No reason you can't get 40k subscribers. Maybe remind if you're gonna view, might as well like and subscribe. Maybe go further and get some newbies to go full patreon. It's all marketing, sex sells, even family channels have a little voyeurisms happening. Love Jackson, very cool demeaner, charisma. Be like Jackson
Im glad you included my in budgee smugglers here, I always get left out of the TNA comments haha!!! These are all valid and true points, after a 160 videos we literally just took to plunge recently to continue and hit up RUclips seriously full-time now, hopefully theres a bit of an upgrade to our filming and editing 😊🤙❤️
@@SailingSunday As a general rule, yes, that is correct. The Capsize Screen Formula on the Oceanis46 is around 2.1 or so ? My nightmares are of sails out and being tied in and she doesn't wanna right herself because the sails are open under water and I can't get up past that mess of sails to the surface and breathe again ....
( I watch too many movies )
I wish I had a centre cockpit to feel safe and stay dry ,, lol
Beneteau cruisers are so comfort oriented and family designed.
Fair Winds guys ,,, bring her to the Caribbean and enjoy the Islands !!

Big dog on a small boat for extended passages - borderline cruel, bad life planning at best ...
We spend our lives rescuing animals, actually abandoned animals mostly. Some severely injured, neglected or tortured. Many things we can't even share online because it's so cruel. Many animals we've had to euthanize due to cruelty. We use our videos and multiple other platforms spreading awareness for these animals all while trying to share good vibes and happiness. Anyway, trust me when I say, coming from a shelter, he's living an absolutely incredible life out here adventuring around the world 🤙
@@SailingSunday How do you know he wasn't going to be adopted by someone who might have offered him a life more suitable for a dog?
Our home was suitable, we lived on land before this with him….and It still is suitable, he loves living on a boat with us, he has private beaches to himself, and our attention all day everyday.
Your attitude is part of the reason why there are so many abandoned dogs in this world. Dogs adjust to your life, because they are part of your family…they don’t care if they live in a mansion or a shoebox as long as they are cared for and with US. They are Not just a thing you buy that fits certain dimensions, they come along for the journey🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
@@SailingSunday touche....
@@SailingSunday Dogs just want to be with you! We have two little Lhasa Apso (14 and 1) and they just love being on the boat. As I say, they don't care where they are, as long as the rest of the pack is with them. How have you found the Caribbean with a dog? I hear that they are not particularly welcome and some islands are positively unwelcoming. Horror stories of poison on the beach for example. I hope not because we plan to cross in Jan 23. Take care out there!
I was tracking you on Marine Traffic on this crossing looks like it wasn’t the smoothest you’ve had
