Is Still Hunt the strongest weapon in Destiny history?
As a single weapon arguably yes, but for fireteams Divinity is the most busted weapon they ever created, no contest.
Perfect crits and a 30% debuff with basically infinite uptime.
The fact it was in the game like that for that long still baffles me to this day.
It got nerfed by half and is still widely used.
That alone shows how broken it was/is.
Hmmm I would say og gjallahorn was more busted. 1 guy with ghorn was enough to solo raid boss dmg lol. albeit bosses back in d1 had significantly less hp than they do now by comparison but if you're comparing the weapons in their respective sandbox then I would say og ghorn.

@@PunknPixels It deserves to have its interaction with nighthawk removed. There's absolutely no reason for an exotic to only be busted with one class. All classes should be able to do the same damage with it
Unwritten rule of raiding: always make a subtle sound when you were the highest dps on the wipe screen; additionally, saying "damn", "sheeeesh", howling like a wolf, "fuuck" or anything related also works

I just beat my hunter buddy using this build on warlords ruin running titan . Used twilight w a star eaters eternal warrior class item w the ol bait n switch grenade launcher 😈 suck that hunters
Anyone notice that because you had to complete the wild card quest in order to do the raid, it meant that everybody who attempted the day 1 or have set foot in Salvations Edge in general is guaranteed to have at least 1 viable damage option for dps.
Clever little thing bungie did here as they basically forced the gun on you saying "Take it. You'll need it."
well technically only the fireteam leader had to complete the campaign and still hunt but i get what you are saying
That’s a good way to look at it, but it was just because the raid unlocked the final mission and their thinking was people would load into it directly after doing the raid hence the mission appearing after completion. It was just a story thing since you can’t complete still hunt after the mission
It also forced everyone to run hunter which is pretty bad if you ask me
I mean technically yes but it probably mainly had to do with cayde being the one giving you the sniper and if you had the option to ignore the quest but finish the raid and story well then… you’d never have a vendor to go pick it up from lol
Only the host needs to have it done, was just recommended everyone has it done

We basically have that in the game with rewind rounds fourth times the charm snipers.
Not infinite ammo, but more than you could ever need.
It missing a DMG perk would make it undesireable nowadays besides niche uses in solos.

For its time it was very good. The sandboxes are so different that it isn’t fair to make a comparison. An infinite ammo aggressive frame legendary sniper would not do enough damage to be competitive in the current meta.

If bungie really wants to nerf this gun, they shouldn’t gut the damage, but remove the interaction with nighthawk for hunters. Without nighthawk, still hunt isn’t “this is literally the best option, if you aren’t using it you’re throwing” busted, so it would still be usable unlike some other things bungie has nerfed in the past.
That has to be the move. There’s like no other way to nerf it if you make it take more shots to load the golden gun while keeping celestial interaction it be absolute dog shit on the other two classes. If you choose to nerf damage it will still be OP for hunter with celestial and then be trash again for the other two classes. It hurts my soul but that is the move you are 100% correct. The interaction with nighthawk needs to go to keep it viable without outright destroying it.
@@IChainZI The weapon will still be plenty good without nighthawk anyway as it's basically 3 supers in one damage phase in 1 weapon
@@oxsila Yup that’s what we want for it to still be good but not get nerfed to the ground I think that’s the best tradeoff get rid of the nighthawk interaction while not tanking it.
It's a shame really, the nighthawk interaction is what people were most excited for and now it's the only viable nerf that wouldn't cripple the gun.

For still hunt it’s far more crippling to miss crits as that is what feeds you the nighthawk shot and given that she flinches non stop it was just the easy option to have a guaranteed crit for people

I always was fine with tarrabah losing its charge when stowed cause I always thought it would be too op if it didn't, but after seeing what they did to this sniper we can agree on the removal of the penalty from tarrabah now, right?
I kinda hate still hunt like yeah it’s cool but working with nighthawk and keeping the buff through death is way to much, how can anyone find this acceptable but not a reworked ice breaker

I love this sniper but Icebreaker is still my favorite exotic sniper in Destiny's history.
If they were to nerf it I hope they don’t nerf it to the ground. I think a fair nerf would be to just make it 7-8 precision shots instead 6.
Wish Titans and Warlocks got a exotic weapon that could synergize with a exotic armor piece on a scale like this 😭😭
it would be hard to imagine since ult weapons aren't really a thing (shield, hammer, bare fists, axes, nukes, shooting swords (this exists but the shooting part isn't constant), yourself...), maybe if they added a heavy weapon that was a hammer it could work for titans (with pyrogale gauntlets)
Did they get rid of Kali's crit multiplier? Cus if not i dont think div is the play
the div is only there because its vital to land crits to keep cycling to your cayde's retribution ASAP and if you're missing shots then you lose on a ton of damage and fall otu of rotation so div was just a safe play.
that and they gave her 15 mill health apparently so scuffing shots would hurt.
Where's atraks? Think seeing 6 hunters could possibly cheese him as well

@ianmills6260 Atraks does have a crit, it's her stomach similar to Vex units. It's just very small
While it’s true she has a “crit spot” in her stomach it unfortunately doesn’t actually work, despite show the numbers both visually and on the wipe screen, the health bar loses the same amount weather you hit the crit or not (tested with a pixel counter) it’s the reason why people found star eater blade barrage works better even though goldy should in theory be better
Okay so even though there isn't a crit spot, isn't it possible to still wipe Atraks?
Atraks was actually doable (did 1 run in the way to Taniks) we got her down about 80% ish in 2 floors with a scuffed setup
You could 1 phase her if ppl split their night hawk shots and still hunt Goldie shot between top and bottom floor
But as mentioned, I was on limited time and didn’t want to waste extra time on a health gate type boss as I already don’t like show casing those

I think bungie want that weapon to be strong on Hunter for the following reason: they want to diversify raid groups usually you could just run a raid with only warlocks because of well and the rest was not necessary. By nerfing well they kinda want you to use Well + song of flame together (flame gives dmg reduction) since still hunt needs to hit Crits one of the warlocks needs for some bosses to play DiV and since they nerfed div activation time it’s makes it a bit harder to use. So bungie wants warlocks to prevent healing and dmg reduction and hunters do deal dmg but they have not found a fitting role for titans maybe it would be better if titans would have the div helmet.

I just don't understand why they make these decisions like making it interact with nighthawk. It's just gonna result in a later nerf that pisses people off. They could've just made it not interact with nighthawk off the bat and it wouldn't really need a nerf as much because all 3 classes are equal with it. I can understand if the only reason the weapon exists is because they just copy pasted the coding of golden gun but surely there's a way to stop the interaction

The only way I see they can nerf this gun is if when you pop the goldy shot it doesn’t auto reload
lower the damage, increase flinch, slower ROF, there are many ways to nerf weapons (even taking out the synergy since the weapon is broken if you're a hunter)

@@EnderKnightz Once you pop your super you're done. Hunter can get another nighthawk still hunt shot in weeeeell before warlocks get another super.
The ease of use is good, but ngl, doesn’t seem that op for damage beyond the initial burst. If you can pop golden and still hunter super before the damage phase then great, but if you wanna fire a second still hunter super, you have to use 6 sniper shots and watch a 4 second animation. I’d rather just use a gl.
