My attic crane was named Maurice... This would have been nice to have before shoving hundreds of pieces of equipment, tools, ductwork, etc. up ladders or swinging from rafters through the attic access to pull stuff up over the years. LOL. I had to add heavy-duty magnets to Malco's duct hanging tool when we started doing a ton of light commercial work and were dealing with metal trusses and studs.
i think anytime you're not lugging stuff up the access its good. I made about the same thing in my home from .25 wall 2" tubing. Added .25 plate to each end and bolted to rafters above access. We've got a high attic and this let us remove old (drained) and install new 80 gal water heater safely. I used a Harbor Freight electric hoist, not expensive and easily removable for other uses. When the furnace and/or evap units need replacement this will come in handy.
definitely aint worth falling down that narrow stair ladder trying to bring down or up an object thats like half your body weight the normal way. attic lift it is!
It has lived up to the hype!
This looks perfect for lifting an air handler when replacing a drain pan.
Or into the attic itself
Ratchet strap my dude
What if attic ladder is installed
This is on my Christmas list
It's a great tool!
Luckily the straps didn’t break with that recovery unit
can i use this for lifting things on roofs just extend the rope
Not really no
Few attics have the height for this and for the air handler to clear the opening, a rope works just fine

Is there a drill attachment so you dont have to crank it manually?
How long is the cable
I’m trying to remove a water heater that sunk into a the floor of a trailer home will this work to help lift and pull out??
As long as it's less than 250 lbs
Great idea

Agreed, save your body!
did you add the 4 small screws that were included to the two mount points?
No but they're mentioned in the summary
Y not

Its another gadget, but i cant think of a practical purpose for it?
If you lift stuff into an attic...that's a purpose. If you don't then, you may not need one.
Lmfao, guy must be a service tech
Chain hoist does samething is more compact...
How do you hang it?
Clutch!
I just break the equipment down no need for it
Wouldn't this take longer? I think in order to judge, both ways should be tried first.
