* I do disagree with the absence of "Defy" on the dial is disappointing. I think it's a golden move to get rid of it. Without it the dial looks much cleaner, much classier, much more refined, pure and simple Zen. Love everything about it. Except for the push down crown...
ZENITH has tradition HUBLOT has not. ZENITH El Primero mechanism is used for ROLEX Cosmograph. ZENITH one of most accurate mechanical watch. It is very good quality for that price and is not expensive to maintain.
These are great and kinda underrated. Weirdly though I would love to see a steel version, I think a bit of heft would make it feel more substantial. Also microadjust on the deployant, or on the fly adjustment would be great, other brands have it
Beautiful watch! I have to disagree, I saw the Basel edition of this watch with Defy at the 6 O'clock position and I think they made the right choice to remove it form their production line. The removal of this further simplifies the dial , making it more appealing imo. I really like this watch comparing it to the AP, GP and the VC. I love the Vacheron Constantine Overseas with the blue dial but the price point between this watch and the VC are night and day. This watch , especially on the grey market, is a deal !
Thanks for sharing. I'm in the market for a +- 5k watch and this is on nr1 on my list. Unfortunately the non screwed down crown prevent me from buying. Other than that, pure perfection in all its simplicity. What a looker.
This is so stunning. Possibly my new favourite watch? I much prefer the Classic 41 over the various AP Royal Oaks out there. The bracelet design is also so much more harmonic compared to the Royal Oak. The Royal Oak is unnecessarily big from lug to lug due to its bracelet design.
Really like Zenith as a brand, they seem to be a serious watchmaker that takes pride in it’s design and engineering. Not quite my style but lovely watch nevertheless. Hope it finds a good owner.
Very interesting. When I was much much younger "Zenith" were up there as a watch to desire. They seem under the radar against Rolex now which is why this piece makes sense.1970,s if you had a Zenith you had made it! It just seems Rolex Rolex Rolex etc now ? Shame. Cheers.
An even more affordable option to the AP that’s VERY similar to this is the Seiko SARX045, it has a beautiful aqua-terraesque tuxedo blue dial and it costs less than $600
I like the Laureato dial, movement, and fit more. The zenith has the better bracelet and technology though. I would suggest buying the GP if you want more of a dress watch and the Defy if you have more sporty needs
@@BruceWilliams sorry Bruce now that I'm thinking about it think it was you that I first heard of the brand but think that was a while back think that's still a brand that doesn't get alot of talk so probably why I made the comment your rocking it bro .
Hey Bruce , brilliant review as always. Kinda a newbie video request, but I know you’re someone who flips a lot and also receives a lot of watches to review. I was wondering if you could do a quick and dirty how to on pack your watches for postage to ensure no damage to the pieces in trAnsit.
I really love the watch. Unfortunately the dial is a little bit empty. I really would like to know who decided just to put the brand name and the star on the upper half and leave the rest blank. Personally a reason not to buy one. Sorry. I go for the Espada.
Lovely review once again. I was deciding between this and the previous generation IWC Ingenieur 40 mm blue LE. On paper, this is better in almost every ways. In-house movement (with unique date setting mechanism) vs modified ETA 2892. Shorter lug to lug is great for my smaller wrist too. More elegantly tapered bracelet (Ingy is tapered to just 20 mm) and shorter links for better adjustability. I went for the Ingenieur for 1 reason, i love the design more. It also got, i assume, better anti-magnetic rating. Anyway, how does the quality compared to the classic fusion? Similar style watch from the same LVMH group. Which give better value between the 2?
Daniel Lee AP by Royal Oak ? I thought Royal Oak is the company’s name. Lol. Anyway, Maurice Lacroix has one, and it’s the most bang for buck Genta look piece out there.
@@tomkhong9828 you had me there...I am also curious with Cartier Santo, the newest ones also look like a square version of Royal Oak or at least to me, it looks it.
Daniel Lee Great that you mentioned it, the latest Cartier Santos is really cool, love the look and it’s versatility to change strap. I’m not a big fan of Genta design really, I don’t find the Santos has any resemblance to Genta design watches, it belongs to a cult class timepiece distinctively Cartier.
Looked at one of these when I had my 15400.. wanted to like it but the titanium made it feel like a cheap watch. Now if it was in steel I’d consider it
It is very difficult to machine titanium compared to steel and if Zenith have been able to achieve this finish on the bracelet that maybe rivals AP, then it says a lot of Zeniths manufacturing abilities and finesse. You have missed this important point. Many watch companies will achieve zaratsu etc with stainless steel. With Titanium.....
Haha! It does. Timex I believe in said 1980 were very clever in what they did with what is now a release. They proved a guy could buy alot of Qdos without emptying his bank! The new one must be on song because it is sold out again? That's what makes it perfect? Its perfect?
Bracelet looks amazing and comfy. I couldn't stop looking at it.
I was waiting for this review, thx Bruce , beautiful watch
All the quality, the extraordinary constructive ability and the care of the minimum details of a typical Zenith. Superb!
I love this watch! I wish I had the cash at hand or I’d snap this up. Keep up the great work Bruce. Your videos are top notch.
Thank you!

One of my favorite reviews you've done! Beautiful watch!
Indeed A BEAUTIFUL WATCH !
Much better option than the Hublot you reviewed last week, imo. Great price too!

I would enjoy a steel version as well
Wow, beautiful watch. Really like the integrated “Gentaesque” bracelet.
This one is a winner.
My dream watch! I will get one definitely!!

That bracelet is wild.

Really nice watch Bruce - cheers 👍
Love it!!

Stunner. Love Zenith and this watch. Perfect.

It reminds me of a much more refined/elegant Tudor North Flag
If AP Royal Oak and IWC Ingenieur had a baby.
Good review. Nice watch at a competitive price.

This is amazing and really worth it!
Have to say the thickness is really impressive, as a sporty watch
That looks mean and clean! Love the angles and clean face.
Other than the integrated bracelet and the lump, I think of this as a direct competitor to the GS Snowflake. Nicer finish on the watch maker side.
Great video, thank you, Bruce. Watch is awesome, but to my taste just can't get past the rotor.
Just got my Blue Dial Defy Classic 41. Absolutely brilliant...And I like the clean dial, good decision to leave off the DEFY name...
Strongly considering this watch and the Carl Bucherer Manero Peripheral Rotor in blue.
An even more affordable option to the AP that’s VERY similar to this is the Seiko SARX045, it has a beautiful aqua-terraesque tuxedo blue dial and it costs less than $600
That is a beauty, too bad they discontinued it
Marco Lopez apples to apples my boy
OUTSTANDING review!!! Great Job Sir! 👍
Solid, beautiful, good size, and good price.. Oh man, why I didn't seen it before...
Better looking than royal oak. Titanium too.. Wow
Beautiful watch, dou you think the bracelet will fit on my 8 inch wrist?
Very nice! I will put this to my wish list..however, Im little bit concerned about scratches to the watch?
Gorgeous watch and an ABSOLUTE bargain! 👍
How much ??
@@Granto-ni9qw 4300€
Great review ! Does it have a Sapphire case back ??
Outstanding watch. Thanks for sharing
How does this compare to the Girard-Perregaux Laureato you reviewed? Is the Laureato worth the extra cost?
I like the Laureato dial, movement, and fit more. The zenith has the better bracelet and technology though. I would suggest buying the GP if you want more of a dress watch and the Defy if you have more sporty needs
Ronnie Steelman GP Laureato is another league, its movement and casing are mostly hand finished.
Love the watch, what do you guys think of the range rover skeletonized version of this watch?
Lovely
I like the skeleton one best too.
Bruce, what was better honestly! This or the Pelton Perseus??
Zenith please make this in a 38mm 🙏🏼💸
41mm is not too bad for me 15.5. but do agree with you man. love the skeletonized dial.
Why? Does your wife want one?
I just wish they made this watch in mutually any color besides blue. Would love a black or silver dial
Maybe see if you can review a Pelton watch sometime handmade case bracelet even the screws in the A.P. Royal Oak style for about 2500 hundred.
I have I love the perseus, that was one of the most enjoyable reviews Ive done in a while and the owner is a really nice guy

Concerning resistance to scratches, how would the titanium of this watch compare to brushed steel?
I wonder why aren't they releasing this in gold and different color dials ?

How are your thoughts comparing this against VC overseas? I know VC is in a different league but wanted to get your thoughts
So happy DEFY is not above 6.
I would really love to see this in a 36000bph movement, like the El primero. I think zenith could make this a defining feature of their brand.
Take a look at the El Primero Espada.
Are the indices rhodium or rhodium plated?
You said rhodium...

Its grade 5 Titanium so hopefully it is more scratch resistant than Stainless Steel.
Retail price hell no! 4k secondary full set it’s a steal!
Holy cr@p that's tempting.
Lovely bro❤️.
Thank you bro
How does grade 5 titanium scratch resistance compare to grade 2 titanium and to 216 stainless steel?
What size is your wrist? Trying to guage the size
Do you still have the watch
Is that a Zenith Royal Oak....because I can't afford AP.
How can afford the massively over priced AP, the zenith is a value prop

Is the watch still available Bruce?
No it has sold
What's the intro music?
Is it still available for sale Bruce?
Isn’t Titanium a scratch magnet? This looks like the new Oceanus a smidge
It is easy to scratch yes
Does anyone know if there is a black version coming out as well?
pieter van vliet would love a black one better aswell

Zenith Defy Classic is gorgeous, miles above the ugly AP oak
I need gunmetal grey dial on this
How well does the movement keep time? I didn't see any thing about chronometer specs.
This one is 2 sec per day. Its very well regulated from the factory
Beautiful watch, the hands are boring, but I love integrated bracelets
They are very zenith!

dont sound legit to buy a zenith without getting the el primero. but i dont care im fucking getting this sexy blue

You can put a different strap on it but unless it is custom flared it will look stupid. The OEM is the way to go anyways
Define "integrated bracelet".
Dallas Cowboys watch
Now I can never own one lol
I don't understand that I'm from England ?? Dallas cowboys?????
Not classic at all in terms of its size, bit besides from that they got most things right.

it's a star
