Thank you to the team at Rock Over and the amazing athletes for a great day! Links to their social in the description to follow their always epic climbing ventures. Hope you all enjoyed the behind the scenes experience of the comp day!
Hey man, I want to let you know that I appreciate you just being genuine with your videos. I see no ego, no clickbait, and great content. One of the top climbing channels on here. Thanks!
Great comp and a great video! my one piece of criticism was that the end of the video where the climbers went out to actually compete felt a little over edited and confusing, it was hard to track who was climbing and who was doing well. Other than that, great work!
Honestly the best video on your channel i've seen so far! Music and editing with the climbing montage was sooo crisp! The climbs all look sick too. Hope there will be more like these route setting comps. Keep up the great work!
Awesome video! I think I would have preferred two videos, one with the setting and another with the comp, but this worked well too. Thank you for making this!
I really enjoyed this one, in particular, the route setting and behind the scenes. In my opinion, the competition part was confusing, especially since I found it difficult to distinguish the climbers. I get that that it's hard to boil down all the climbing, but personally, I would rather have seen some full climbs and maybe the scores and final standing, even though this was a more laidback competition. Still, I was really entertained the whole way through, great job!
@@letterZach I get that it was fine edit for a certain type of video. But tbh, I just prefer to see the full climbs, or at least more of it. So many cuts in a single flash burn, and then straight to another climber. I dont follow all the climbers here, and definitely couldn't separate who was who from the first watch. This felt more like a highlight video of the actual original video you could find somewhere else, except this is the only video that exists. Two parter with setting and then climbing would've been more for me. Or just a longer video. I just prefer the behind the scenes chill feeling when watching climbing videos (on competitions I would like to feel the atmosphere there). And I definitely would like to keep up with the boulders and how the climbers are climbing them/what mistakes they make/could it be done more optimally, etc. For example the clip from the intro. I was actually waiting for it since it was the teaser for the video. I dont remember seeing him fall, or I just missed it because the music was too loud and couldn't hear the shouting when he fell. But the point still stands, too fast paced for me. Just my opinion though. I'm not expecting him to change his style just for me (if that's the type of videos he wants to make).
Great video! I loved the editing, made it much easier to watch the actual finals as i didnt have to sit through a 2 hour session. Again, amazing video! You really out did yourself
Amazing video Andrew, great content matched with some sick tunes! Those 30 mins flew by, loved the editing during the actual climbs, you managed to build suspense throughout! Fantastic stuff
That video was amazing! Loved it from start to finish, what a way to end the day. I loved how you cut together all the guys on the same problem in the way you did it. That was nice to watch!
Athletes also named their problems! Really enjoying your content especially when Louis joins in, keep it up!
Just found this gem! Perfect setup to let the 'titans battle each other' ;) Fantastic performances from all the athletes. Epic editing, especially from 25:00 on!
Your channel is growing so fast and tbh its one of my favourite climbing channels put there. One of the best videos you've created so far keep up the good work 👊
Super work, particularly enjoyed the conversations during setting/test and interspersed flashbacks, very cool. I don't presume to crit the vid because: Your art! I *would* be psyched to see an extended narrative take on the comp as a separate work. Thanks immenseley for these fine stories.
This is really insightful, thanks, Andrew! I'm just getting into comps and having all these legends sharing their thoughts is SUPER useful. Especially the route setting insights, bouldering is changing so quickly so it's nice to stay informed on how these crazy problems are being set. Niiiiiiiiice! Good job chaps
Super Cool video, I would have preferred two seperate videos tho. One showing us the setting and interviews and one with the actual competition. But that is just me being picky, great video keep it up.
Seems like people can't agree on whether or not the editing was too much. I, for one, thought it was great. The comp was mostly just for fun so I'm not worried about seeing them try the boulders uncut.
I liked the majority of the video but when it got to the comp itself I was disappointed. Too much cutting and not great angles, was more form over function for me. I want to see the boulders properly and people sending them even if it makes for a longer video, or as someone else said split into 2 videos.
awesome to see GB lads! by the way, the comp format itself is not new (see Sisu Masters - daniel woods, jimmy webb, etc). Would loved to see the full length video
Hey! It means to find another way. Usually the setters have an intended sequence of moves to get through a problem, but some climbers 'break' the sequence by finding another way that the setter didn't anticipate. That's why testing routes is so important for setters.
Andrew MacFarlane thanks Andrew, I’ve spent the last few hours binging a lot of your content. I’ve picked up some good advice, I look forward to putting it into practice.
Editing of the climbs meant it was hard to watch, would be nice to keep it simple and show each person climb the problem from start to finish, too much chop and changing.
No disrespect to the guys, but "Titans" seems like a kinda odd name to choose for climbers no? Titans in mythology are massive, while most good climbers are rather small. Halthor Bjornson seems more fitting of the title Titan :P
Cool comp but i think a lighter touch on the editing/effects would have been easier to watch, and I thought the music choices were really obnoxious. I had to mute it
Thank you to the team at Rock Over and the amazing athletes for a great day! Links to their social in the description to follow their always epic climbing ventures. Hope you all enjoyed the behind the scenes experience of the comp day!
Are they leaving the boulders up?
Great video. Editing was awesome.
@@SuperSaiyanPhysique not sure! Best to ask the gym about that.
Andrew this is A+ content wow. Super sick comp and amazing editing. What a sick video man, gonna rewatch this one a few times.
Superb content. The 2nd Problem was so sick! :O 25:54
My fingers hurt just from watching that..

Phenomenal content, sick editing and audio, and I really love that J. Partridge toe hook move! So tight.
Awesome video! I think I would have preferred two videos, one with the setting and another with the comp, but this worked well too. Thank you for making this!
This is one of my favorite bouldering videos on the internet. Good stuff!

The climbing part was just over edited and confusing
Nah. The editing was on point It's not the usual 2hours+ streaming of the climbing.
I absolutely agree.

sick video! awesome editing! I have watched pretty much every climbing video on the internet and I have never seen an edit like this. Super dope
That video was amazing! Loved it from start to finish, what a way to end the day.

Love the content keep it up! So good to see climbing gaining traction and all the channels growing x

Such a great idea. Really enjoyed watching them compete against each other in friendly way.
Dude this is such a great video! So cool to see the personalities of these guys as they climb and set together! I love it all
Awesome video Andrew ! Fantastic content and great to see all these athletes setting and having fun !

Holy shit. You aren't as popular yet as some of the larger bouldering channels but your videos are the best in the game. Keep it up dude.

Fantastic comp idea. Wonderful editing!
Absolutely banging video... great guys and amazing routesetting.. loved the editing, it really added extra energy to the comp... great work!!!
Loved this video. Great interviewing and style! It's not easy to keep conversations so natural on camera.
such a cool idea!!! I love the comp, the fun, the surprise, and your video skills!!!
Great video!!! Love the music and transitions during the comp - well done!!!!
This was super fun to watch! Smiled through the whole thing.
So strange to see my local climbing gym on a big RUclips video haha, awesome stuff
similar here except it's one of the climbers (Max) used to train at my gym. Campusing stuff that I couldn't even do if I used my feet
Really enjoyed the content! Nice to see so many strong climbers in one video :D
Really nice video! I especially liked the editing style and music of the scenes from the comp. Looked like you put really a lot of work into that.
Brilliant video thank you!
Such a nice idea for a comp and a very nice video to watch. thanks!
Very hype video and lots of great shots!
Thanks to all involved - that was great content.
really awesome comp and video, thanks!
Was that intro a Nile Wilson shout out?
Right.....
that moment at 26:10 was so sick, I had to shake oout my legs just watching it
Excellent video from France here 😊
Looks like Andrew is a Wilsonator 🤔
Now that would be an interesting guest
Damn I've wanted Nile and Louis to collaborate maybe we'll actually see it happen
Siiiiiick comp, awesome routes!
Comp edit was sick
Excellent content!!!!! Thank you!
Awesome concept, awesome vid
That Nile Wilson opening though
this is sick as hell. love it.
I smell Nile Wilson
Super Cool video, I would have preferred two seperate videos tho. One showing us the setting and interviews and one with the actual competition. But that is just me being picky, great video keep it up.
Please do a video where Nile Wilson tries climbing
Seems like people can't agree on whether or not the editing was too much. I, for one, thought it was great. The comp was mostly just for fun so I'm not worried about seeing them try the boulders uncut.
Competition time tonight, so here we are again, building the psyche
Amazing editing!
Best climbing video since Free Solo
😂
More stats in the end, plz. Otherwise massive! Great editing.
Very nice editing!
Great Video!!
Great editing
This was AMAZING!
Fuck it, im goin climbing today. Cheers!
So much fun oh my goodness 😍😍😍

Great content
Magníficos boulders y grandes escaladores
This is my local gym!
Did you get the chance to go to the women's one? I would have liked to see BTS of that comp too :)
Not a fan of this editing.. It took things slow when there wasn't climbing but rushed through the actual comp. Whyyy?
Exactly! All just talk until minute 25:00 and the 7 minutes of real climbing
awesome to see GB lads! by the way, the comp format itself is not new (see Sisu Masters - daniel woods, jimmy webb, etc). Would loved to see the full length video
This type of challenge and subsequent video is awesome. I could watch watch these every week.
Good content is hard to find in this sport. It doesn't itself to highlights like football
2 Things:
1. Sets were amazing!
2.Climbers were phenomenal!!
BRING ON THE OLYMPICS!!!! TEAM GB!!
Broooo you should post the music you use :) Or make a playlist on Spotify so I can follow it
where one can pick such a flamingo T?
Such a nice video I am a subscriber now
yes
Wilsonater?
I would cut back on the editing of the problem... Kinda ruined the whole video for me.
Andrew please give us the music !
Future Hit by Louis II
The Outside by The Seige
Renegade by Renegade
Enjoy!
What are the songs in the video?
New guy here. What does it mean to “break a route”. Is that to complete with relative ease or to find another way that the setter didn’t intend?
Hey! It means to find another way. Usually the setters have an intended sequence of moves to get through a problem, but some climbers 'break' the sequence by finding another way that the setter didn't anticipate. That's why testing routes is so important for setters.

Awesome :D
Amazing stuff, this donkey approves :)
Nile Wilson.. is that you!?
Nile Willson????
how did Louie get so damn good at campusing???
No bobats?
Wait... Did you just use nile Wilson intro?
Editing of the climbs meant it was hard to watch, would be nice to keep it simple and show each person climb the problem from start to finish, too much chop and changing.
9:13 Frodo ??
Took Nile Wilson's intro. Bit sus lol
Would love to see a female climber version of this if you haven’t done it already!
I wish I was there for the female version! The Hub had the company Psychi make a video for it, which should be up on RUclips.
Yuh
Did you copy nile wilson at the start
Yo did you just steal Nile willsons intro??😑
No disrespect to the guys, but "Titans" seems like a kinda odd name to choose for climbers no? Titans in mythology are massive, while most good climbers are rather small. Halthor Bjornson seems more fitting of the title Titan :P
Let’s be honest here, not a single one of these boys have the physical stature of a titan.
It's so crazy how Nile Wilson has gotten so much botox in just a short amount of time lol ;)
Cool comp but i think a lighter touch on the editing/effects would have been easier to watch, and I thought the music choices were really obnoxious. I had to mute it
