Watching Beavers takeoff out of Sitka Harbor on my Uncle's boat and listening to him, a former pilot, talk about the capable flight characteristics of these awesome aircraft is what inspired me to get my private ticket. Maybe someday I'll get up there and get my sea plane signoff!
Thanks again, TheHDAviation for the video "gift" to us all! Taking quality footage, I think, is an artform, and you are truly an artist! I especially liked the final HARBOR AIR takeoff. He seems to be heavy and looks to be struggling to get into the air. Once again, NICE WORK!!!
Got to love the Beaver. If you wanted an aircraft that describes a country it would have to be the Beaver for Canada. They go together so well you could almost imagine that Canada was designed for the Beaver not the other way about.
This video is almost 9 minutes long: I stood on the deck of the Disney Wonder and watched this graceful ballet in Vancouver for a lot longer than that. The Beavers were designed in the late 40's with 450 hp. Pratt & Whitney Wasp Jr. radial engines originally designed in the 1930's. Watching them lift gracefully into the air and settling down into the water was a pure delight for me. Skilled pilots handling vintage equipment in a spectacular background is a sight for me equivalent to seeing humpbacks and orcas in the wild, and to experience both on the same cruise was really cool.
That must have been a really great experience on the cruise, I always enjoy seeing the ships at Vancouver while doing some spotting at CYHC. I bet the view from the deck is amazing!
That beautiful sound of almost choking with lean mixture idle at 5:40, sweet and beautiful sound, love it! I hope i will fly Beaver one day as a pilot, if i get to be bush pilot ;). Thanks for this beautiful compilation!
I love that sound of the engines sputtering to life as well, always great to hear! I hope you get to fly a Beaver soon, I bet they would be a lot of fun.
Its awesome brother. I would love to fly these. Unfortunately, I don't mean this in the wrong way. It would be a step back for me. No offense at all. I have 15,000 plus hours.
2:38 is likely C-FMXR from Tofino Air. Rainbow paint scheme and 2 bladed prop. 6:52 will be C-FEBE or C-FWAC, but likely FEBE because you cant see the tip tank filler neck that FWAC has.
I can just hear the ol' Scot Jack Webster of Bctv say " touchdown at noon...PRECICELY" with the first landing timed with the horns! ( your probably middle age or older to know that name) :-/
Such a beautiful aircraft! Love the approach at 4:38 too. Nice video.

Thanks for sharing that story, you must have got to see lots of Beavers around Sitka! I hope one day you get your seaplane rating.

I'm green with envy! Seeing all those beavers is splendid. Great video!
If you're ever in Vancouver, make sure to check out the Harbour Airport. There are always a ton of Beaver's around there. Thanks for watching!

класс! очень красивый самолет
At 0:19 to 0:26 that ship might know that a seaplane comes in to land Loud!
Those were the heritage horns doing their 150+dB thing.
