I bought this in Gibraltar, last year, and it came in at 4.8%, there. My Spain-brewed sample was really nice, actually. I recorded my video review at the hostel in La Linea de Concepcion, Spain, after I crossed the border.
Love your videos mate but i reckon you should blow your hooter during every review. It adds a degree of suspense. Best beer reviewer on RUclips by a mile, keep up the great work
Drank a few Cruzcampo beers in the Andalucía región in Spain recently. The two main Cruzcampo beers in the bars were Pilsen(4.8%) and Especial(5.5%). Whilst I am not as a rule a lager drinker, these Sevilla brewed beers are at least pleasant and drinkable. 🙂🇪🇸🇪🇺
My mate got three of these in the 3 for 6 quid deal in Tesco 😂 says he likes it. Told him to get his tastebuds tested. Third ingredient is bloody glucose syrup! His name is Ray Mirkovic from Little Stanion.
Agree re Estrella Gallacia It’s the only beer I buy now It’s different class. Drank Cruzcampo on draft 15 years ago in Spain and it was amazing. This UK brewed stuff is a joke and an insult Wouldn’t drink it for free
Sounds tragic. I had it on draught at a Greene King pub last year and it was crap. Pre-pandemic draught in a Spanish square with tapas it was exquisite!
I liken these type of dog shit beers to modern art or clothes that are made with holes in. It's like the people at the top deliberately put out absolute trash and sit back and laugh when the plebs lap it up. Obviously anyone who knows about decent beer isn't going to go near it, but the general masses can't get enough of shit like this. Almost like some kind of psychological experiment.
yeah part of me thinks this whole 'spanish beer' thing is also a marketing technique to pull in stupid people who think they are getting the actual brand, it's all just false advertising I guess. they claim its spanish lager but its brewed under heineken in the UK, so ofc its piss poor quality.
Heineken bought 40% of Cruzcampo in 1999, they may even own it now. The Spanish 4.8% version is known as a budget beer, but I drink it over there, it's cheap and decent for the price
Cruzcampo was probably my least favourite of the Spanish lagers I had when I was in Lanzarote earlier this year. Dread to think what the UK version is like, won't go near it lmao
I just had a bottle for the first time ever out of purely bottle top collecting, I had an uncannily similar experience to you thinking I might have a cold or something coz the lack of smell or taste is unnerving. It's designed purely for swilling mindlessly. Rubbish but at least it's not offensive I suppose...
The first time i had this was on tap in a seafront pub about 2 years ago (way before it got mass-released into the supermarkets) and i thought it wasnt a bad pint. I personally think it got mass-released to compete with Madri after seeing the huge success of it. I think it tastes like a weak version of Sapporo. Out of Madri and this though, id choose Madri. madri actually has less flavour but theres just something so crushable about it🍺
Ive had it a couole times down my local. Ive found it ok, but in the context of having a couple of ice cold pints in the sun. But i agree, its cheap crap thats the product of a massive corporation
And shockingly this one is coming to the blade on Monday 🙈🙈🙈. No the sub one was 5.6%. Some have said it's a different beer but this is living off the especial reputation
Why? Clickbait? Was it cos Maddison was booted out of (Cruz)Campo......I have had this in Spain many times and like a mug, each time thinking it would be better thank the last; Majorca, Minorca, Tarragona, Ibiza....I know what a muppet. Still only had one in each place. It is awful. It is the sheer weakness and waterness I recall. As we used to say about Watneys 'its like making love in a punt - fucking close to water' !!!!
Its awful, nothing at all like the Cruz Campo I remember drinking in Spain years ago. Like Madri it has been bastardised for the UK market, and if you read the ingredients you'll spot the issue - Glucose Syrup. Its sickly sweet toilet water, utter rubbish. Adding Glucose Syrup seems to be the think at the moment (they've started adding it to Madri and its awful now).

🤣🤣 love that mate.
😂 Good comment
love how it wasn't edited out lol
An original of this is superb but this “UK version” is a as good as home bargains toilet duck 😂
Had my first cruzcampo in mallorca this year and it was my last..absolute dog shite😂

Ray Mirkovic, here’s to your beer journey mate 😆🍻
Way to name and shame 😂.
Hello Ray! 😆
'Estrella Galicia' is the best Spanish lager by a country mile. It's actually made in Galicia and imported to the UK.
Alhambra is the best beer in Spain
Agree re Estrella Gallacia
It’s the only beer I buy now
It’s different class.
Drank Cruzcampo on draft 15 years ago in Spain and it was amazing.
This UK brewed stuff is a joke and an insult
Wouldn’t drink it for free
Sounds tragic. I had it on draught at a Greene King pub last year and it was crap. Pre-pandemic draught in a Spanish square with tapas it was exquisite!
I bought a ten box of cans from Tesco and never bought it since. I remember liking it in Spain 20 years ago. Absolute shite now
most "Spanish lagers" in the uk are brewed in Burton awful water for Spanish style beer the UK is going down the creek in awful beer.
Sometimes we have to taste crud beers like that to remember the good ones value! 😜
You got that right!
Totally agree - tried it once never again thought it was awful!
Paul, totally agree, absolutely horrendous lager!
Had it from a bottle last month. Shocking lager. Can't quite believe how many people are going for it.
You need to review Veltins from Asda 👌🏻

Edinburgh arguably has the right kind of water for lager.

Please review Menabrea next if you can, lovely lager can get it at Morrisons
If I ever taste undiluted human pish I would expect Sevilla to be something similar
They do a nice pint on draft at my local pub mate and amazing video pal
a surprise to be sure, but not a welcome one.

My fav beer is McEwan's Export ...How do you rate that one
Cruzcampo on draught is like drinking left over piss. It's watery tasteless and metallic.
The first time i had this was on tap in a seafront pub about 2 years ago (way before it got mass-released into the supermarkets) and i thought it wasnt a bad pint.

I LIKE ITR
The TV advert is annoying as well
I think I dodged a bullet as this was in a 3 for 6 quid and they'd sold out of Cruzcampo replacing it with a bottle of Singha.
Ive had it a couole times down my local. Ive found it ok, but in the context of having a couple of ice cold pints in the sun. But i agree, its cheap crap thats the product of a massive corporation

Mine arriving today don't do it mate I messaged u yesterday
Oh no, not another UK-brewed disaster Please let me know about imports I have been hitting Polish delis for original beers. Madri is also very bad
"Brewed In The UK" translated means it's been butchered.
Pretty much mate 😆
You need to review lager from Carling heard it's good.😂😂
This is a very hit and miss beer for me. I’ve not minded it lately.
Hello Paul
Mahou Cinco Estrella is much better or even Estrella Galicia.
I had it at a wedding 2 weeks ago. A single pint was enough for me and I moved on to something else. It just tasted totally artificial to me.
Why? Clickbait? I'm hoping I don't buy it on blade but I know me, i'm a knob 🤣🤣
Don’t do it Bazza, you deserve better 😆
@@paulsbeerreviews 🤣🤣🤣 I'll try pal
The cruzcampo especiale on the sub is 5.6% abv. A much better beer
Great review Fella another beer they totally ruined. #fake I got the blade Keg coming today complete waste of time and lowered of course...
Another example of a half decent beer being brewed under license in the UK and tasting like piss. Why can’t we just import it?
At least it were Spanish at some point. That Madri is 💯 fraudulent lol.
Your spot on it is poor!
I think Heineken is worse at ruining good beers than even AB-Inbev. Weird, out of touch family, i think they do it on purpose.
most "Spanish lagers" in the uk are brewed in Burton awful water for Spanish style beer the UK is going down the creek in awful beer.
Pretty sure it was in the mid 5s abv wise. As per usual we get a weaker poorer imitation.
Probably Not The Best Lager In The World.
Not a single thing to do with the proper spanish version....
Less Spanish than me 🤣🤣

please tell me who hasn't gone down this crappy beer production
Another uk dupe
Such a shame how these big brewers are ruining these beers and making them weaker my favourite was Beck's which was 5% it's now 4% shocking.
