This is just as touching as the album version, if not more so. This man is a poet, pure poet. That little drink of water from the glass at the end is just perfection!
However very few artists can capture this. Lyrics with meat are so rare. Story telling is lost and modern rap is so cookie cutter it’s a joke. But Mick out here keeping the true spirit alive. The disrespect he gets by being pushed to the side is only due to his ability. They fear sustenance, they fear a mind that is awake.
Mason Williams break bread is like you can literally break bread or share money and need the dough is like need money or like something you do to bread before you cook it
if you dont Kneed the doe correctly it becomes to thin. So Mick is saying that if you don't take care of your money and or lend it out to often youll find yourself in need of it. It has spread to thin. So he is saying to take care of your friends by showing them how to make money not just letting them have it.
The world still ain’t ready for this mans lyricism. In today’s society it would get overlooked. It’s a shame artists with such deep lyrics get shunned. This man is speaking poetry, the lyrics all have meat to them. He is truly a generational talent even if the generation doesn’t know it yet
Saw him in Paris since I missed his show in London. Noname supporting. Show and set was on point. Amazing time. This brother even went outside and spoke to each and every person who came to the show. He is a good soul and an amazing and profound talent.
!!! The essense of rap is that it is poetry over a rhythm.. The rap/poetry Mick writes and then recites is really deep conceptually; It's hard to even fully understand as he raps what he's conveying, however, I believe this is how rap is suppsoed to exist, to express yourself and how you really feel and what you really think about you/others/your-world, as opposed to completely focusing on bling, fads, and insults.. For that reason I respect Micks music and I'm glad he shares it with the world
Mick Jenkins’s Outro on BBC Radio One is forever poetry. how the piano could just cry with that man’s voice. .. i think this still my favorite mick jenkins song, better yet i know its my favorite mick jenkins song. this version does something 2 me. he so divine.
Mmmmmmmmm...I get goosebumps listening to this musical performance. I love the piano, and with Mick riding on it, mmm, it's more than what meets the eye and ears, it feels like my soul separates from the body and Im taken to place where time doesnt exist. Its too amazing!!!!!!
a month ago i herd one song from him.. all i needed hear to decide he was my favorite artist(besides God) and it wouldnt ever change. Be real rappers. Do it for the free! seek more truth! So Right on Mick! I thank him for not being scared to be different! most these rappers scared tho! like one piece their jewlery could feed an entire nation, Dont even try it. you scared young trappers! 😱
can anybody watch this and then say rap isn't art? like? Rap is straight up poetry and these verses by mick are like more than music to my ears but love to my ears
Here I am 7 years later tuning to Mick’s piano outro and it hits different like it’s the 1st time hearing it. Timeless tunes

Still so underrated, will always appreciate Mick’s greatness, he gives us such art ❤
This is just as touching as the album version, if not more so. This man is a poet, pure poet.
That little drink of water from the glass at the end is just perfection!

So good it hurts, been with mick since Trees and Truth. Straight Truth.
Look for mainstream contamination
Same bro. This shit is lyrically genius
Every time I listen to this I play it over 3 or 4....teen times.
Real shit!
you know, i actually really enjoys when he sings. Like a lot, His rapping is top notch but his singing gives his style so much more flavor
CHASINGTON truuu
CHASINGTON peep James tillman. you'll probably like him, he's like a mix between mick jenkins and Syd tha kid
CHASINGTON same, for me it's like MF DOOM, where the kinda bad singing just adds more authenticity to the artist
Wow this was so different and refreshing.
You should peep all of micks stuff. He literally changed my perspective as an artist.
his singin in this really is outstanding
I prefer this version of the song. Stripped to its core: clear, thought-provoking, beautiful.
bake bread with me we be so focused on how much we need the dough we forget the little things we need to know like how to knead the dough 😂👍💪🔥🔥🔥 bars
@Isaac Garcia aye can you explain it to me I'm a lil slow
Mason Williams break bread is like you can literally break bread or share money and need the dough is like need money or like something you do to bread before you cook it
Oh ok bet Ik what bake bread meant I just didn't know knead the dough
Mason Williams yeah cause if you don't kneed it before you cook it the bread can come out all fucked up 😂

Hip hop is like the greatest thing in the world maybe
This performance should be on the Grammys stage
Jordan Wright imagine! That would be awesome
I would be the happiest person on the planet bro

"The underrated often neglected" GOAT
Man I get chills everytime. This should have a few million listens at least by now. I think a lot of people "missed the point".
Ohhhhh Lil Bo peep was supposed to watch over the flock. He's saying all he sees is wolves and sheep with no shepherd. I'm out. That's tough.
I think somebody missed the pointtttt, one of the hardest simple yet complex expressions of all time
Love it that he actually drinks a cup of water in the end of this poetry session

Yo I love this man and what he stands for. Straight up. Thank you mick for all you do and speak.
Billy III in Boise

Mmmmmmmmm...I get goosebumps listening to this musical performance. I love the piano, and with Mick riding on it, mmm, it's more than what meets the eye and ears, it feels like my soul separates from the body and Im taken to place where time doesnt exist. Its too amazing!!!!!!

I love this so much more than the official track for the album. Stripping this track down really made you focus so much more on the lyrics
beautifully orchestrated
Mick is love. Mick is life.
simply beautiful
You know its real when mans got to hold back tears!
when he switches to singing ... ❤🔥
truly amazing artist. thank you mick jenkins
When Mick started singing I already knew he was spiritually woke, the sound is euphoric. I can tell by how he rhymes he's much aware of this world
Yesss. You so real man
2:04-2:20 you can literally hear and see his emotion. He almost chokes up because of the realness of those bars. Tooooo much water
The cliffs don't seem so steep at this point
That's a cry for help y'all
People who disliked this must not like the water
they are dumb for real
Type of people that be only drinking that high fructose corn syrup. People that take what they want but not what they need.
Amazing...

It’s very rare rappers have meat to their lyrics like this. But yes, Mick is a poet through and through.
