I just picked up a "build your own" basket hilt from Castille. It looks and feels very well-built. It's going to my son-in-law (in training) who is an active HEMA thwacker. I'll drop back in after he gets a few months on it, but initial impressions were very positive.
They've since refined the highland basket and it's a significant improvement. I'm one of Jay Mass's club mates, we got some updated basket prototypes for testing.

Ok, I'm a little late on my "few months", but 2 years later this is still his go-to. It has taken a lot of beating and it is still mechanically sound.
