Bjurälven 2015 - "The Secret" - Air filled cave tunnel
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 фев 2025
- Three divers first ever dive in to the air filled tunnel within the Bjurälven cave system. The tunnel was found in 2013 and visited by 9 divers before us. The air tunnel is aprox. 100 meters long and named "The Secret" (sv. Hemligheten) by the divers first entering.

"We shut all of our lights and sat down in the dark just listening to the water drops" - this only tells me how strong is your passion for cave diving :) wonderful! Lying on the rocks that make the heart of Earth, where no sunlight shines. Must've been a striking experience.
I am not a cave diver yet, but I know that feeling from when I stay with days underground. One of the most peaceful experiences ever!
alek why do you stay underground and where ?
@@faheema6736 Well, I am exploring a big cave and I have to stay there because only the way to the new passage takes us one or more days. Of course there are some sumps, but we can't explore them because it's almost impossible to haul all the diving gear there.
Is this fully underwater
@@akashkvkkrishnan7374the 500 meters to reach the air chamber is fully underwater, yes
Awesome! You've combined two of my biggest phobias! Deep water and confined spaces!
Exactly what you said
they should name claustrophilia the opposite of claustrophobia.
"You are off the map turn back"
Nikke DosE the map is for you that wants to stay safe, we push outside the map and draw the map for you.
it looks like you've gone to the part of the map the game dev thought no one would bother to go to & got lazy making the terrain....
Callum W relatable
I want to make an indoor pool with rock floor walls and ceiling from the rocks at 4:58 or at least a bathroom
Callum W m
Callum W so many geeks comparing real life to a goddamn game.. like go outside already!
BRICKCITY9MM Someone's kids could see thus
Awesome guys thanks for going down there and making a video so that I can see it without ever having to go there!!! 😅
It's amazing how people get into every nook and cranny.. Makes you wonder what's beneath your feet. Stay safe!
prob alot fo corpses along the way
@gareth5000 I have the same thoughts almost everytime I watch cave diving, or regular caving ((I don't know the right term)). I always hope they'll do like a part 2 that shows them going further past where they had to stop before. I KNOW that realistically it's not always positive.
Spelunking or speleologyI believe.
Google Édouard-Alfred Martel. I read a fascinating book about him when I was a kid.
THEY ALL FLOAT DOWN HERE.
Gosta look tween'em crannies bruv
Thank you for the beautiful video, blessings from Sunny Florida 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
Thanks, and you have fantastics caves there as well. A bit warmer though ;-)
Imagine your flashlight going out.
Erick McGee I'd kill myself
A well trained cave diver will never dive without a buddy, and each person will have at least 3 lights, so there's a lot of redundancy for things like that.
Actually in Britain it's standard to dive solo because the passages tend to be tight and full of sediment so after one diver has been through visibility is often zero. They may dive with one or two other cave divers but they leave large gaps e.g. 10-30 mins between divers to allow the sediment to settle, so basically you're on your own.
US cave divers are normally trained to dive in threes if they're in large passages with fantastic visibility like the blue holes in Florida or the Bahamas. The idea is that you can buddy breathe if someones equipment fails.
As you say it's standard for cave divers to have at least two of every system (except their dry suit) in case of any problems. And similarly to dive on the "thirds rule". i.e. a 1/3 of your air on the way in, a 1/3 on the way out and a 1/3 for emergencies. If using scooters you need to increase that margin in case the scooter fails.
Or worse imagine something happen with tube and can’t breath through it
Imagine you flashlight goes out, and then you hear someone else in the cave。
This was really nice! Thank you 🙂
Thank you, more videos from this place coming up
if somebody farted in there. the smell would never go away.
not to mention after a while the oxygen would be used up so to speak
QhahahHajahahah that was a good one. Classic
TricoCosmic
It will "take" away from the next group of divers.
TricoCosmic it be like a bong and go through the water
Or take a crap there...it will ferment lol
I always think what the first person must feel exploring these, before any lines and knowledge of what's there
Absolutely terrifying
barbaric
Inconceivable!
2394098234509 Yet soothing and peaceful.
like inside animal's stomach esp whale XD
2394098234509 - was thinking same. I assume those droplets are from the body of water above, ice, snow, or whatever?
I would never do this, but thanks for the opportunity to see it.
WOW! You guys are soooooooooooooooooooo lucky! Please keep filming vids so we can experience them threw you. Great job and THANK YOU!
+Anthony Masters Yes, sure will and thanks for watching
*through
That's Right after the spring flood that will flood the whole tunnel, new air from the outside will penetrate cracks in the ceiling. If the ceiling would be air tight, the water would stay in the tunnel because of the pressure. The water level is the same as at the entrance.
Seriously your channel is underrated. This is amazing
One of the coolest dives I’ve ever seen. One day...
I have been stuck (no pun intended) on cave videos for a few months now ever since I watched the nutty putty Jones video.
Many comments on cave videos is why they do this and to me this video is the perfect answer to that question.
Awesome cave and awesome video.
Thanks!
The walls of the air filled tunnel indicates that water flows through them or has flowed though them at some point. Isn't it unsafe that the divers leave their gear behind and explore around when there could be a sudden surge in water level in these tunnels?
+Sourav Sinha I think they have some ponybottles with them
Sourav Sinha no its winter when the snow melts the cave will fill. it flows out of the gravel (conglomerate) they keep an eye on the weather so they don't get caught out
Sourav Sinha I feel like a lack of oxygen would be more dangerous
40E Well the problem isn't lack of oxygne, it could also be if it is pure oxygen, which can be deadly
Flamefart8 there is no way that air is pure oxygen. Also, pure oxygen is not deadly, you are breathing something like 99% oxygen in scuba tanks
Absolutely fascinating. I've always wanted to scuba dive, but not cave diving. I have a phobia of being in tight spaces. No human has ever seen the inside of this cave until now and because of modern technology people around the globe can see it too! Thanks for sharing the experience!
Omg this is absolutely gorgeous! Is there anywhere to read more about how it was formed and the layers of rocks? Thanks for sharing!
Wow! Breathtaking gentleman!
Dette er en naturlig grotte dannet av kjemisk oppløsning av marmorfjell gjennom tusenvis av år.
Kjempebra filming, spennende prosjekt!
Just watching you in those tight spaces made me start panicking and rapid breathing. No way could I do that.
it's so cool and thrilling experience, dude. great work!
by the way, If that an air-trapped-pocket cave tunnel, does that "room" have higher pressure than normal?
you can try to figure out the pressure there because if it doesnt, it means that there is another secret passage from that tunnel which is connected to outer world, up there. The reason is "the room" is capable to equalize the pressure to atmospheric despite the fact that is trapped between two water tunnel. I am just curious
Watch at 2X speed for all of the anxiety in half the time.
i'm not feeling it burning
Simon Dent poor song choice definitely
Why was this funny
As much as I hate confined dark spaces, you guys made me happy seeing you so happy.
I love people that enjoy the beauty all around us.
Even more so when they are willing to go to great lengths to find it.
the concoidal shapes on the walls are awesome
Amazing! You all have nerves of steel! Thank you for this beautiful video and the song went perfect with it! Just wow!
Always keep your air on you. You never know when the water may rise unexpectedly
I think the only way the water could have flooded in that pocket is if there was a crack formed reaching either another water source or opened up to the ground level. The pressure was preventing the cave to flood. Take a cup and turn it upside down and force it into the water, the only way water can fill up is by drilling a hole into the cup or turning the cup upside down. But yeah you're right, if an earthquake were to happen and caused a crack leading to the topside...they would have been in trouble.
@@templarzrise5086 you can tell water flows through the entire cave, look at the walls. This cave fills with water when the snow melts, that's why they were able to take their gear off without worrying.
@@templarzrise5086 If a crack did form very suddenly, the cave would also very violently and suddenly fill with water.
Wow thank you all for this amazing video!
Kinda magical, in a weird way. Maybe it was the song.
Forget the music hater comment.....The music was good, and the effort that goes into such a dangerous dive is appreciated. Good video!
That's amazing!! Think about it, before you guys went and visited, more people had walked on the moon than visiting that cave!! It's so amazing to know there's still so much of the world no human has ever seen!!
Stupendous video. Very, very well done. I've done some cave diving. But, never gone to that "edge" of a passage where you have to remove the tanks from your back (tight squeeze). Many do that sort of thing. But, the danger level rises as complications such as that are involved. I loved it that the loose soil/gravel on the floor of the cave did not cause an abundance of silt...clouding vision. The absence of that type of hindrance to visibility mitigates for safety of the dive.
Does anyone know if these divers made a recording of the period where they said they turned all their lights off and just lay there listening to the sounds? I would love to hear that. Thanks for sharing this video, its magical
I can't wait to see this on my recommended in 10 years.
Who else got here before 1 million views?
Do you have a non music version ?
BeebleBoxn Yes its called the volume button on your device and your welcome.
Wasn't complaining about the music I just wanted to hear the sounds of the cave. I was asking the uploader not you. K:) Thx
BeebleBoxn ruclips.net/video/JVhZMcBOPWE/видео.html
Hey thanks those are always relaxing.
BeebleBoxn 🍻
You're living the life bro
3:41 I wouldn't mind doing a little sampling from that gravel line, to see if there might be some placer gold in it. Also pan some of that gravel at 4:22 too.
People are exploring unknown amazing discoveries and your dumbass is thinking about gold?
It can be converted into a human base for surviving nuclear wars, massive solar storms, etc.
That was unbelievable cave system you have there .love to see more!
Yes it is a beautiful cave. More videos on my channel.
Id love to see your faces when you got back and your tanks had disappeared..good job
@@dyktilja just seen you're secret air filled cave czn you provide me with some more information?
Absolutely gorgeous and very majestic. Have dove quite a few caves and caverns, but very few look to be this awesome... thanks for sharing!!!
watching you guys walk thru the bladder that is that air pocket, I couldn't help but think, what if it "popped"? Any idea what the chance of implosion or callapse is in that environment?
beautiful place. thank you for sharing it.
People are saying this is terrifying but it looks like absolute bliss, just magical in every sense of the word
0:47 when you open your eyes and forget you're still underwater
The video would be much better if they got rid of the music and left the diving sounds in instead for the immersion factor. So you could feel like you're diving with them.
Sorry, will do better next time, check out my latest videos and see if you enjoy the music more
How deep into the waters were you when inside that pocket of air chamber? Thanks for sharing to the world your experience of going where very few humans have been. I love this stuff.
although cave diving has never appealed to me I have the greatest of respect for those that do it as it takes a special kind of bravery and just a little bit of insanity to dive and squeeze yourself through such hostile environments. Thank you for sharing this magnificent film I really appreciated it.
I can imagine myself touching everything saying "no one has touched this before" 😂
and then causing a tunnel collapse
@@OCDlosp it means no one is going to touch him anymore 😂
What is the majority type of rock throughout this video? Is granite? It's so cool looking!
The majority is limestone
will the breathable air in there eventually run out, or does it somehow replenish itself from the oxygen in the water?
only if you smoke a joint there
This is something I would like to know as well.
Very well then
I would think the limestone would actually take away the Co2 over time like a sponge.
Angelo Santelli not sure if what these guys are saying rings true, but common training is to not breathe air in air pockets in overhead environments. Because you can't be sure of the content of the gas unless you have a analyzer, its best to stay breathing your tank air, however it's perfectly fine to take your reg out of your mouth and you can talk back and forth. Just don't breathe the trapped air, it could knock you out, and is a easy and stupid way to die.
Mycket imponerande, jag kan inte föreställa mig att ha den upplevelsen, jag är från Karibien, jag vet inte om jag klarar av dessa temperaturer. Grattis. tack för att du delar med dig
my mate done this in a secret cave system in India, he was swimming for an hour and came across an air passage. There was two geezers down there playing table tennis.
The music is beautiful, and i usually don't like music along with videos like this but this was great.
How did you know the air was safe to breath? Carrying any analysinstrument with you?
Pretty sure they are not the first ones going there. You can see the lines being already attached from previous explorers
Kul att se såna här filmer från hemtrakterna.
Thank you for sharing!
What is the air temperature inside the cave?
Beautiful video! I just wish there was annotations explaining the age of the tunnel and the different formations/ mineral layers etc.
4:50 onwards is where Giger was when he designed his Alien bio-mechanical universe
Epic!
Well edited, the music works nicely
I wish they came across a couple of people smoking a joint. how great would that be
Bloo57999 we took the stairs maaaan
Yeah good luck getting that shit under water, maybe YOU should stop smoking doinks kid
Its a joke you spastic fuck
金3 A.M. you put it in a waterproof container these guys said they had hot chocolate
Pehz who's spastic now? Did I beat your kids too hard? 😂😂😂
I can’t handle twenty minutes in an MRI without music and a blindfold.
I'm so claustrophobic I struggle watching..struggle to breathe when watching...this is instant insanity for me..yet I snorkel dive
I’m the same way and yet I go caving. 😂
It's like an Atlantis remnant. The stone walls almost look like chipped flint and the huge iron sheets protruding out of the rock were amazing.
had to mute it coz of the stupid music
ESPSJ I actually enjoyed the video . It doesn't the act is amazing , these are brave men
Lol same
ESPSJ haha! I didn't think it was that bad but my cat reminded of how unbearable it actually was when he left my side to go under the couch about 30 seconds into the music.
wow I was about to comment how I liked the music :)
Well i hated the music
Astounding! Imagine the balls of the first diver that thought "there's a dodgy looking gap under that rocky shelf, think I'll go have a look!"
Thanks for filming, I don't know how you guys manage to fit your MASSIVE balls into that cave, there is no chance you'd ever see me in one of those, so thanks for filming it, what a beautiful place.
Edit: btw sorry if this is dumb but why is the rock on the floor and ceiling like... all pokey. like not smooth/flat like normal? Looks trippy, I like it!
humanimal Its erosion due to flowing water during the summer months, the cave is only full of air during the winter when the ground water us frozen. When all of the snow melts its flows through the cave slowly carving away creating the odd texture.
To life with so huge balls is uncomfortable.
What peace and tranquility. Much Love from Melbourne.
Wow those tunnels like the Set from Alien...
When I was a child I always dreamed of being a cave diver, but it never happened, I loved the water and would swim in the sea early every morning even in the winter when I was a young adult, being a single mum 🍳 ended my dream, and now I'm too old with ARTERITUSE etc, maybe in the after life! I never got to achieve any of my goals or dreams, I was brought up in the system so I guess it wasn't meant to be! You guys are doing lucky to be able to do it and go were no human has ever gone before! The frontier!! Stay safe, lolx
Terrible song to add to this video. Is this a really sad cave or something? Did 5 babies die in it at one time?
Amazing feeling must be, knowing you are the first human to walk that particular piece of earth.
"I have way to much money and time for my own good" - cave diver
Broke plebs can still explore terrestrial caves
Good quality camera work. Looks amazing
the song...I'm not feeling it
You missed the point - it's not a video game, this is a real place, it's not about the music its content, a place that is incredible beyond imagining, an exploration that is about as extreme as it can ever get. Understandably your life experience limits you, but when commenting on something like this try and understand the bigger picture.
LOL
I too am a veteran ,it does not qualify me to say stupid things.
I was addressing GazetteFan4life, not you, but the point remains, the bigger picture is the content of the video, an incredible place beyond all imagining and most people watching this will be seeing that and be astounded by the exploration and pristine environment. As for hearing nature, you wont hear crickets chirping and frogs croaking under there- without water noises it is as silent as death.
GazetteFan4life I
That’s incredible like the walls of the cave are super cool and like smooth
how they get hot coffee down there?
There is a coffee vending machine down there. Java, Espresso, Cappuccino, it has it all.
ahhhh thanks lol
"For when you want to enjoy your coffee in peace" xD
Mohite Navinchandra obviously a natural coffee spring in the cave
Air tight thermos
Wow absolutely breath taking, Couldn't imagine seeing it in person!
please release this again without the music
Did you know there's this fancy thing called a mute button?
It's pretty advanced stuff, don't be discouraged if you don't figure out how to use it the first time.
@Meikkhaell Did you know there are awesome diving videos that don't have annoying music over the raw footage?
As far as your sarcastic insult, have a great day /s
I think that was one of the coolest cave diving I've ever seen
Thank you for this video, the music I thought went great with it!
would be a great spot for filming a sci-fi scene
Swedish Fish.
Hahah
That was one brave little trout. He didn't even care.
looks Finnish
Beautiful
why not just dig a hole on the shore and wait for the tide? ALLL my fears, except height rolled into one youtube video.....dark caves, deep water and small spaces!!!!!! Its a wonder I mde it thru!! whole time....I was thinkin..."I hope they have enough batteries!!, not to mention....walking away from your airsource!!!! left on the shore like sandals....FUCK my anxiety!!!
:)
Imagine what we could discover if we could breath underwater and with stand pressure from the depths. We could see an entire different planet we know nothing about
All this enchanting music till u actually try to go there and die looking at mud to rocks not even diamonds or gem just black, grey and brown rocks
So is the water level in the cave actually below sealevel?
Two words :- fu@k that! You blokes must have plumbs the size of bowling-balls.Was getting claustraphobic feelings just watching this on You-Tube! Wish i had the bottle to try it myself
andy mate you clearly English it's good to see some one from the uk in the comments

Caves are bad, Caves full of water, nu uh.
Oh wow, that rock looks so strange... Almost like its not real in a weird way. Thanks for recording this! I have a fear of tight spaces and being trapped underwater so this is like a nightmare for me but I still think it would be an amazing experience and is super beautiful. Id never do it myself though lol.
lol, if you think about it, criminals could find places like this and cops would never think to look
Michael Abelson
Lol, yeah. Here where I live criminals have buried drugs underground on farms to hide them. Police still find them though, amazingly.
Kirsty Martin I try and hid from my wife but she still finds me
Fire Blade890
Haha, we women are great husband hunters 😂
Yeah and they would be dead in days.
Mike Abelson you dumb as hell, you would be tracked by police dogs and you wouldn't know about how to navigate it unless you were a seasoned professional in cave diving
A testament to the beauty that lies waiting after overcoming your fears!
I am going to go there and fart.
respect the nature
Haha
absolutely beautiful.... even though i never had claustrophobia as a kid and id do things like this, i now have a fear of being stuck in a tight space... might be because i only have half a life left to live, but id do this for the experience and the sheer beauty.
Wonderful video. Thank you
First caving video with a pleasant background music
