- Honestly, this was so good! Such a feel good, fun story with a nice, happy ending, and I just really enjoyed it overall.

90 year old Eli Wallace was so energetic on the set that director had to remind him several times to slow down and act more like a older man.
Was he really 90 years old while filming this?

FUN FACT: Kate Winslet stated in an interview that once she got role of Iris, she realized she didn't know how to portray a "modern character". Most of Kate's filmography are era films, which means it was an odd challenge for her. Kate stated the director suggested she watch classic films like His Girl Friday & Sabrina to help form the personality of Iris
your absolute loathing of Jasper was the highlight of this video 🤣. this is likely one of my top holiday films so I was happy to see this on my feed.

I love Jack Black in this film. I think it shows a little more of what he can do as an actor besides being silly and funny
I adore the storyline of Irish and Arthur. It's just so wholesome. I would have been happy with an entire film of that.

I saw this when it was new, I remember that I enjoyed it. Eli Wallach is delightful. He had such a long career. I remember him most from one of my all time favorite Westerns, The Magnificent Seven (1960).
My wife hated this movie the first time she watched it, but then she watched it a year later and she could not figure out why she hated the movie so much, now she will watch it every year.
I watch this one every year. It's a fave. Loved the reaction. Happy holidays everyone!

There are a number of great but not much talked about holiday flicks that I hope we can share together.
Like : "THIS CHRISTMES" 2007, "THE PREACHER'S WIFE" 1996, "THE LAST HOLIDAY" 2006. Each one has at least 7 top notch actors/actresses and worth the watch!
I loved how animated your reaction is! This is one of my favorite films - and I especially love Iris' and Miles' love story. It is the sweetest ever and I adore how gradual their relationship was. I love Iris' line "I'm looking for corny in my life."
As for Amanda's chest pains, I feel like it is definitely a stress thing. I go through that whenever I feel anxious, too! It could be GERD, too, which can definitely be exacerbated by anxiety and stress as well.
If you take suggestions, I'd love for you to watch Stranger than Fiction. It stars Will Ferrell and it's about an IRS agent who leads a monotonous life and how it changes when he hears a voice narrating his life. It's a really lovely film and I hope you can check it out!

I couldn't slap this video on fast enough. I LUUUUV this movie.
I used to wear it out every night as background sound for bed time, because I knew every scene by heart.
I could close my eyes and picture the scene in my mind as I tried to distract my mind so my body could finally shut down into a deep sleep rem cycle.
This movie, Elf and the Bass & Rankin stop motion animated classics are a traditional must see every year for me.

I really like this movie - the standouts for me were the Arthur story and the two little girls.
when I was kid we did an annual house exchange with this couple in another city for Easter. We went for years until one year we were allowed to bring a friend along and she ran through a plate glass window. Ahhh memories. The house was pretty cool, i remember they had a giant jar of marbles and mum would let me tip them out and sort them into colours and stuff (how did they not know i had autism??) they also had a really cool games room with one of those old school wooden table hockey games. I always remember my mum cleaned for like a fortnight straight before we did the swap too lol
Great forgotten Christmas movie. You may also like “The last Holiday” with Queen Latifa. Another hidden gem. ☃️🎄

the 2 love interests/ex's- Kate and Jack's were in a great film together- 'A Knight's Tale' with Heath Ledger.
Omg...SAM! I have to say, you had me cracking up so much with your rantings over "Jasper" during and after the movie!😂 I kept saying- You GO Gurl! Tell that Truth!😄 I totally adore you for every bit of what you said concerning- Valuing yourself and etc., and ranting on awful user that Jasper is lol. He's one of those guys who 'wants his cake and eat it up too' so to say. He only ever wanted Iris (KW) as his side piece. While I'm not a big fan of JB's, I did like him in this. Funny thing -the 2 "Cheaters" of this movie, were also both in- A Knight's Tale.
First time I ever remember seeing Jude Law ( who sadly had the rep for actually cheating on his Ex wife years ago) was a movie he made here in Savannah GA., where I live. It was sort of his big break, in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Anyways, I used to watch this movie pretty often as I'm a big Romantic, but this is the first time I've bothered in quite awhile. It was fun seeing you react to it Sam! Take care!😊

@@OGBReacts Oh I could most definitely see that! He got a lot of Women PO'd back then and now lol. I can't think of the actors name at the moment but, he tends to play various forms of 'Bad Guys' more often than not over the years. And what's worse is seeing poor Iris getting sucked in by him until she finally woke the Hell up!

I remember seeing the trailer for this film and wanting to see it super bad. I requested a hold at the library and it was durring christmas month so by the time it was my turn to rent it it was mid January lol. Also, Sam I can't believe I never recommended this film, but if you ever wanted a sequel to " The Wizard of Oz" I recommend the 1985 " Return to Oz" You're going to have a fun experience with that film. and I think Belina will be your favorite character.

When he said they had sex once and slept together twice, they were joking about the fact that he stayed the night the second time (after she met him at the pub) but they didn't have sex because she was passed out drunk.

Hey, its Christmas time again! :-) Another Christmas movie we watch every year is "Little Lord Fauntleroy" from 1980 with Alec Guinness. But i think, it might be not so popular in the US as it is a british production.

This is a good movie. Another great holiday movie is Love Actually. Soooo many great actors in it and multiple story lines. I’ve watch it so many times I can’t count.

@@OGBReacts I'd love for you to do more rom-coms, even once in a while, you're so good at/with them. You could start with the writer of Love, Actually (and Notting Hill), Richard Curtis, and do some by him... Four Weddings & A Funeral is great, as well as About Time.

I love, love, love this movie
It's a good ... relatively wholesome holiday film ... some folk in various communities have cried "foul" at this movie because "we only get to see the *pretty* couple have sex" - the plus-size couple in America isn't shown as sexy. And I get that point... it's not a perfect movie by any stretch... but it's fun and I'm usually smiling by the time the end credits roll. I've re-watched it multiple times over the years. Glad you reacted & enjoyed it (for the most part) ... f**k that Jasper -dude

My partner, some of her family, and I went to Dublin for a week last summer! We also drove and spent two days and Galway and saw the Cliffs :) Beautiful time.

There are things I dont like about the movie but for the most part I like this movie. Maybe it wasnt believable to me that a smart girl like that was that rapped up in such a glaringly obvious scum bag. I also wasnt a fan of the voice over trailer thing.

"We should have sex because you're drunk and probably won't remember anyway" is kind of disturbing and might be looked on that way if the sexes were reversed. (Not to say I don't like this movie.)
Agreed--- a lot of what women say sometimes in these kinds of movies would be portrayed as "worse" if a man said it. I think it's creepy regardless of the gender saying it but yknow 🤪
