Ah, good memories... I remember I had a hard time getting into this band, but then something clicked on me and I started to love their music! One thing I've always loved about them is how clean guitarist Tommy Vetterli sounds, even during solos, but of course the whole band is incredibly talented and intsrumentally tight! Also, I can't fucking believe they're reuniting after so much time, awesome news!
punishment for decadence? one could argue that album is their pinnacle. also beneath the remains is excellent, and if inferior to arise, not by much these bands put out great albums with consistency. even if i agreed with your opinions on their greatest achievements, i still don't understand your point in identifying them. not with bands of this caliber. so each band has a zenith point. so what?
You may not beleive this, but everytime I hear Coroner I always bear it in mind that the bass he was using for long is identical to my Zon and mine may as well have been his. I asked the manufacturer Joe Zon (the bass-maker master) to look after whether my blue Zon Scepter was Ron Royce's - which Joe did perform, but was unsure about it. What a heritage if it was truly his! And for everyone's satisfaction, the instrument is still a magnificent one with a unique look and awesome sound :)

Hey....... are you there? If you still wonder... After coroner, Tommy (guitars) was in other bands such as kreator, clockwork, 69 chambers and collaborated??? With a swiss artist I don't remember (if you ask me, none of it holds up to coroner's greatness and creativity, but it makes sense knowing the world we live in now). As for the other members....Marky (drums), made some minimal techno tracks under the name Mark Knallkids (I think) and some industrial metal with Tom G Warrior in a band called apollyon sun. Apparently, Ron (bass and vox) was in a blues band, but I haven't found anything about it.
Man, as much as I hate to say it those WERE the days. You could catch Death one night, Coroner a week or two later, Sepultura, Entombed, etc., in the upcoming weeks. At 48, I'd have to say those were some of the best shows performed by some of the best musicians that I have ever been to. I still pop in once in awhile to see someone, but the freshness and cutting edge sound just isn't there anymore.
Ron Royce now works in his fathers electrical store and refuses to reform the band.. But there is a new 3 piece metal band from oz called "Nothing" They are similar to coroner in many ways...If thrash makes the comeback it appears to be making these guys will be huge.. I found their myspace page nothingthrash.. check em out, if your a fan of coroner you'll love em
