For me; this is the best LP the group ever did. Unfortunately, most of this material is not in the film. Instead many of the songs were from the Epic album "Coast to Coast", which in itself is a very good album. Nonetheless it's mystifying as to why Dave would release an LP of songs implying they are the original soundtrack tunes for a film that had very little to do with 80% of these songs! This came out shortly after The Beatles, "Help" was released. I think that that's The Beatles best album. This "Having A Wild Weekend" album reminds me of "Help" in many ways! Thanks for sharing side two!
I realize it wouldn't have been a conventional notion at the time but some of the instrumentals in the Dave Clark 5 catalog are killer and may have had commercial success if given a chance to exposed.
I saw the movie "Having A Wild Weekend" back in November of 1965. A week later I saw The Beatles' movie "Help!" Good times!
