You’re such a life saver thank you!
thanks mr Salles all your videos have helped so much
I am not joking here, I only first watched your channel last night before I went to bed. I watched a few videos and fell asleep thinking about and I was dreaming about it all. I was able to remember it all and I could then use it in the exam and I am so grateful and fortunate that I watched your videos. Now I feel like I smashed the exam.
You are way better than Mr Bruff.
That's pretty cool, thanks!
What a legend 🙇♀️👏 thank you
i went to bed early because i knew who’s youtube channel i would swing by this morning 😏😉
This has helped me so much, the exam is in like 3 hours...

Mr salles for the quote "be inmocent of the knowledge " for macbeth if he literary technique an imperative verb?
THANK YOU SO MUCH, because of your videos I feel like I aced the exam today!
@Yasir Ahmed 4 years earlier, I got a 9 hahaha :)
Please please pleaseeeee can you do like a question on The History Boys? It'd be great if you can as I'm terrible when it comes to talking about that play!!
So helpful thank youuuuuu
Please answer i’m doing AQA and on paper one i answered the Macbeth question and the Jekyll question then went back to Macbeth and put the question number down again, but the answer is in two parts, before and after my Jekyll answer. Will my Macbeth answer still be marked?
Mystery and Tension? Ugh that was hard ish. I found i couldnt link that theme to the author's intentions at all, I had to get in context with background stuff like pollution and gothic features which everyone would have written about. wrote about setting, then structure, then the deformity of hyde.
Thanks a lot Mr Salles, I'm not sure how I did but you're videos gave me confidence and your exam tips -mainly just to keep persevering with writing when others have stopped- were vitally helpful, that really improved my mark, so thanks so much Sir.
oh that wasnt meant to be crossed out btw...
so how do u link that back to the question when your talking about Christianity and sexual view
What exam board is this sir? Looks a bit different from Edxcel

I beg do how to answer lit paper 2
Can you please do a walkthrough of paper 2 literature please
Got a video coming tonight. Watch it before the exam.
I'm glad I at least see people at this time. revising the same time as me lol.
if we get an extract where we cannot annalyse a quote becaus we have not done it in class dow we have to come up with it?
The examiners treat it as free marks. That’s what the extract is for!
is the word 'plucked' a plosive sound?
nxxa_66 I think so, it’s also got short vowel sounds which helps it sound harsh x
Hi sir, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know what you think about this essay, I have the exam on it tomorrow and would love to know if you think there is anything I can do to improve my grade.
How does Priestley present Mrs Birling's relationships with the other characters in this play?
In "An Inspector Calls", Priestley presents Mrs Birling's relationships with the other characters in an interesting and engaging way, as each relationship differs, revealing different ideas about their personalities and allowing him to convey his purpose in an effective way to his audience.
Right from the start, Priestly gives us clear ideas about her character through the stage directions; she is described as her husband's "social superior" and this not only provides an interesting contrast in their relationship as she is a woman, and typically women were lower than their husbands, but it also suggests that she and her husband are distant from each other as they come from different social classes, and this idea is further emphasised through the stage direction that they are sitting at separate ends of the table, with Mr Birling "at one end, his wife at the other." This suggests a drift in their relationship, contrasting with the idea that "we are all members of one body" and it also suggests that her relationship with her children will be just as distant, as they were brought up in a cold family environment.
Due to being brought up a family based on appearances, she doesn't know what her children are really like, and focuses on building superficial relationships that will benefit their family image. She treats Sheila like a child, despite it being her engagement party, and although her advice such as "You'll just have to put up with it" could be interpreted as motherly love, it also suggests a brink in their relationship as she wants to socialise Sheila into the traditional female gender role rather than wanting what's best for her, and because it is clear to the audience that she does this not because she cares about her daughter but because she's selfish and thinks only about herself, they are more likely to support the opposing views that contradict her, and this allows Priestly to highlight the inequality in women's roles during the Edwardian period.
Her relationship with her son Eric is presented as equally superficial, creating dramatic irony as the audience knows more about her children than she does, as she does not know that he is a "squiffy", and determines what punishment the "father of the child" will receive before she realises that it was Eric who caused Eva to become pregnant. Through presenting the relationship in this way, Priestly highlights the hypocrisy and weak bonds between the bourgeoisie, and this creates a more positive outlook on the idea of everyone being of "one body."
As her children were brought up in a family that lacks true bonds, and she has a weak relationship with them, this suggests that they are easily influenced by the inspector who presents a more ideal way of life, and this idea is conveyed to the audience effectively as she resists his efforts to make her take responsibility, breaking the smooth line of enquiry and disturbing the overall structure of the play, making her seem like the enemy, and this suggests that none of her relationships or prejudices are improved, emphasising Priestly's idea that it's the younger generation and not the older one who are more likely to change.
This idea is further conveyed through Priestley's presentation of her relationship with Eva, as she selfishly denies her help, taking advantage of the fact that she has power in her position in the charity organisation, partly due to prejudice and partly due to pride, and this promotes Priestley's ideas on socialism, because if everyone contributed to "looking after each other" then perhaps her death could have been avoided.
In conclusion, Priestley presents the relationships between Mrs Birling and the others in a negative way, so that many of the seven deadly sins are promoted, emphasizing the idea that the play wasn't just designed to be a mystery thriller, but it's also a morality play, leaving the audience to consider the problems that fill society due to the upper class's fixation on appearances, rather than focusing on building sincere and true ones.
Yes, this is very good. Good luck.
Thank you!
Better than Bruff👏
👑
Good luck guys :p
shame you didn't do romeo and J or Christmas Carol, may just kms
Thanks for the help, but I still think I messed it up.
Do you reccomend pulling an all nighter?
lana del reyc no! Get some sleep and have breakfast etc and don't panic. Good luck!
Exactly! You will get better marks if rested. To bed, to bed, what's done is done, put on your nightgown...
😂 thanks, I'll try to get some sleep
lol ''whats done cannot be undone''.Joke i think I got 27 in macbeth essay and 20 in jekyll and hyde so grade 7 if i'm lucky.
I should get grade 7 to be honest. Did the work and the exam. But I feel like my essay on jekyll and Hyde was not good.It was about how stevenson creates tension and was the extract where it seems the setting is battling it out symbolising good and evil after the danvers carew murder and utterson and an inspector seek mr Hyde. I wrote about epistolary form - that's letters right? - and structure about how we do not find out about henry jekyll statement till the end of the book.I also wrote about the supressed homosexuality evident in even the best victorian gentleman - Mr utterson - seen through his dreams. And how the impact of society has on Jekyll and how they were dumbfounded when they saw jekyll turning in to hyde at the incident of the window. I felt i was just popping in anything I could think off.My analysis was okay.I mentioned stevenson's purpose in all paragraphs. And the impact on the victorian reader.I also mentioned context about victorian readers and Deacon brodie working in stevensons parents house.
This actually sounds like a lot But I am still scared because i feel i was throwing stuff in to my essay without much thought. I ran out of time despite having extra time but tried my hardest. I think I did much better in macbeth essay. My spag was -1 though, I was just throwing stuff in. I dont think my subject terminology was good but i did mention stuff like the metaphor of the setting evident in the extract and yeah that's pretty much everything I managed to do for this novella.I always hated DrJekyll and mr hyde to be honest. What do yuo think Mr salles the best? I am so scared lol because I need at least a grade 7 if I want to continue with life lol.And I have to wait almost 100 days....I think my macbeth essay was much better, wrote like 10 paragraphs :). Idk...What do u think?

p.s I subscribed.Evidence: prntscr.com/jl2wdz. Ill let you do the analysis of my admiration and loyalty to you.Think about what the author's purpose is too.Any relevant context e.g had an exam 40 minutes ago?Can you offer any alternative interpretations e.g why he circled the subscribe button in red?Reference to hell reflecting his anger? You tell me mr salles.
Thanks :)
To some extent I feel I was just trying to waffle my way to the end of the essay on dr jekyll and mr hyde. I did not even write a conclusion for the essay. The examiner probably thinks I'm dumb.I wrote 4 sides or more i think. Can anyone give me feedback because i think i'm gonna burst, like a baloon lol.
Times you enjoy making jokes about english = rip fun.
I mentioned two purposes of both authors in both essays, I dont think ill make him want to run with excitement but you said that is what needs to be done for grade 7 in one of your videos. I think i'm scared because english is so abstract if you know what Im saying because you cannot just say 5*5= 25.
Please reply Mr salles you deserve a million pounds :(((((((((
I'm going to be homeless ;((((((
Thank you for entertaining me Noman. Your ideas sound very good. Sounds as though you have done well. Just focus on the next paper, as most students ease off on their revision now (I get far fewer views for paper 2). Keep the focus and you will out do everyone else.
I don't get the homosexuality theme connecting to utterson can some one explain?
James Townsend Do you mean how Utterson thought Hyde was blackmailing Jekyll because he thought they were in some sort of homosexual relationship? Or how Sir Danvers Carew “accosted” Hyde & other stuff in the novella?
Wait how did sir danvers Carew accost (or whatever that word is) Hyde?
Hen'na Baka! Editing Mania “When they had come within speech (which was just under the maid's eyes) the older man bowed and accosted the other with a very pretty manner of politeness.”
ammiel Ohhhh! Thanks!
what is the best thing to do now if you haven't really revised but understand the book completely?
Karen Kaur it’s too late love just wing it
