    Thanks for sharing your perspective on these two cities! Very helpful. After living in San Cristobal, Chiapas for six months (a city I really love with great people and delicious food), I'm now trying out Merida - have been here 3 weeks. I'm very disappointed in the food here, quite bland in my opinion and I'm not sure I'll be able to handle the heat in the coming months. I've been considering Guadalajara and you have convinced me to head there next! The geography, weather and food there sound perfect for my tastes. Best wishes to you for the new year!

    Merida looks beautiful and it’s close to the beach we thought about moving to Merida,. but than I heard about the weather it get really hot that’s why we prefer GDL weather by far.

    Guadalajara has many green parks that you can go and walk in the cool of green trees and shade. Merida was a sauna for us. I highly suggest checking out Oaxaca. It is wonderful city near the Sierra Madre mountains. Temperature is very comfortable and the food is amazing.

    Hey, I'm going to speak for my hometown, Guadalajara has close the archeological site of Guachimontones. Tapatios do Vallartazo, which means that if we have a longer holiday weekend we drive about 3 hrs and spend it in Puerto Vallarta, also spend the day in Tequila. The government used to provide free cultural events before Covid19. Also, you forgot the canyon at the north of Guadalajara as part of the landscape. Don't forget that there is a lot of beatiful Pueblos Magicos in Jalisco. Like Tapalpa, Arandas etc.
    Love your videos!!!

    Hey puerto Vallarta it's not so far you can fly the for the weekend, and come back to the city in a very affordable price, also around lake chápala there's a lots of beautiful old towns, and in the sierra del Tigre there's towns like tapalpa, mazamitla, mascota you can rent a cabin you can do off-road horse back riding, hiking and so many other things, one thing you guys should do it's the Cuervo express to the agave fields, Jalisco much more diverse than Mérida by far.

I've been to Merida 3 times now and will be moving there with my partner in January 2021 (inspired by you both - THANK YOU YARBROS)! Just a quick note, that sometimes during this video it was hard to hear what you both were saying over the sound effects and the music (specifically when the siren was going off). Otherwise much love to you both and can't wait to see where your journey takes you!

Thanks for watching and keeping us on our toes.

    It's so interesting to listen to foreigners talk about our cities and compare them. It's also very interesting for me because I was born in Mexico City and I moved to Guadalajara a year and a half ago, and... it has been a bit of a challenge for me, because although, as you say, Guadalajara is a big metropoli, I miss some of the things a huge metropoli like CDMX offers, such as a big subway network that connects you to the whole place, or even 24/7 life in the streets. These are things I don't see in Guadalajara and I miss haha, but still, it's slowly growing on me :P I like it now.

    • @JR0078

      Cualquier ciudad es chica, lenta y aburrida comparada con la CDMX. Cómo mencionaban en el vídeo no hay punto de comparación porque no son iguales entre sí... CDMX solo se compara con ciudades como Buenos Aires, New York o Lima Perú por su tamaño y población, pero no la puedes comparar con GDL, de entrada porque es 4 veces más grande que ésta y en segunda porque ser la Capital del país trae beneficios presupuestarios difíciles de superar.

    • @MiztonPixan
      @MiztonPixan 2 года назад +1

      @@JR0078 Sí.... no hablo de población. De área. La ZMG.

    • @JR0078
      @JR0078 2 года назад

      @@MiztonPixan A eso me refiero, los Estudios para encontrar la viabilidad de Proyectos de movilidad y transporte como lo es un Metro, se basan en el número de usuarios que tiene una población. En ese sentido el área metropolitana de la CDMX es de 20 millones con 12 líneas de metro,. mientras GDL con 5 millones de habitantes en 2 años tendrá ya su línea 4 de tren. Con una simple regla de tres te das cuenta que Proporcionalmente están a la par CDMX y GDL en ese aspecto; independientemente de que el costo del Metro en CDMX es subsidiado por el Gobierno, mientras que en GDL el costo del servicio corre completamente a cargo de los usuarios.
      Es un tema profundo, pero como dije antes, no puedes comparar una ciudad de 20 millones y que es capital federal, con una ciudad de 5 millones y que se limita a ser capital estatal.

      IDK if the video would get any traction from our audience but Queretaro is a city, city. Very urban with a very diverse population hosting and a large international wotkforce. Merida has grown considerably in it's population and modern amenities but It is still a very tribal...very indigenous place with lots of tributes to it's different tribal culturals...their style of dress, their dishes even their governance. Merida is overflowing with indigenous character, hot weather and modernization. Queretaro is overflowing with mountain weather, an 8nternational crowd and families Thanks for watching.

    I thought that Cartagena was very hot. I remember Panama City being hot and humid. Curious as to whether Merida is like one of those. I hope to begin visiting some spots in Mexico besides Cozumel on a cruise and Cancun when I was in my twenties. Love living vicariously through you guys right now 😎

    My family has lived in Guadalajara for their entire life
    And my sister recently moved to Mérida 2 years ago
    So this video is overly interesting to me haha, I have a feeling Guadalajara might come to be the winner, but both cities offer many different good things

    Q: What is your opinion on Mexico for single-moms? (8-10yr old range).
    I've been binge-watching your Merida videos (b/c of the safety factor) but I really don't want to be baking my @$$ off in the heat if Guadalajara is a viable option (i.e. no kidnapping).
    Thanks. Feliz navidad / Happy holidays! You guys are appreciated!!!

      Personally, I would take an honest look at Guadalajara....there are plenty of safe neighborhoods and it offers much more for a developing mind to delve into zoos, museums... intellectual pursuits abound here. Guadalajar is a major intellectual city. Thats something I keep editing out of my videos because I don't represent it correctly but a vid is coming. Again this is my personal opinion but Guadalajara or a suburb around Gdl would be my preference to raise a family.

    I live near Merida....regarding the climate: When you get out of the oven that is Merida at certain times of the year and into the countryside with better plant cover and air movement, the heat is far more tolerable :)

      @@TheYarbros I have a smallish farm more or less along the Ruta de los Cenotes South of Acanceh, which is pretty much all covered by the local version of jungle (Montes, as opposed to the rainforest variety). Definitely cooler there than in the towns around it. You have done the Cenote tours I'm sure, so you know what that's all about :) My other house is in a small village about 20km away. Lots of breeze and lots of trees to keep things cool there. As far as I have been able to observe....It seems to be quite a bit hotter in and to the North of Merida, so I am thinking the opposite direction is more comfortable. Regardless, Yucatan is a great place to live!

    Thanks, you guys are amongst my favorite Mexican expat you tubers :) such a hard choice b/w these two cities. Wish I could put a beach closer to Guadalajara or bring GDL weather to Merida.
