    Thank you. I'm a almost 68 year guy who is borrowing my son's PS 4 and your video helped me a lot. 👍😊 Now I own a PS 1 that works as well as it did the day I bought it. 😂 And have around 40 games for it. Just wanted to check out the modern world for a change. But I'll never give up my old system. 😁

    That is a huge help man, thank you! Most of the information out there says that you should never charge it if a phone charger plug in the wall, and for me it wont make any sense.

    that is not even remotely how electronics works those chargers do not output anything, thats what they are CAPABLE of outputting. A DC power supply only outputs as many amps as the circuit attached DRAWS from it there will be no difference in charging anything on any larger charger unless the device is capable of switiching its charging profile which newer smart phones do for fast charging under a number of circumstances. One such circumstance relevant to modern electronics and their ability to charge or process data is their thermal headroom, based on the temperature devices may slow down or speed up or have more or less resistance. However in this case if a controller draws .8A it always draws that much regardless of what you hook it to.. if you were to hook it to a really old usb 1 type thing that only does .5A its still gonna draw .8 and it will brown out because the supply cant deliver that much but if it could deliver 3amA the controller will still only draw .8A

    That isn’t an equals sign. It’s a symbol to represent it is DC current, and not alternating current. Alternating Current (AC) is commonly represented by a wave sign or ~ symbol

      The USB 2.0 spec says it can between 4.4 and 5.5V. The devices are designed this in mind so all of them will work.

  • @rynax009
    @rynax009 5 месяцев назад +2

    This is totally false. Faster charger will damage the controller battery, fast charger only output 9v 12v 15v etc when the load asked for it. A 5V load will not request higher charging volt from a faster charger.

    Been doing this for years with chargers and cables from the 99 cent store. And I still have my same two ps4 controllers. One's a real licensed ps4 controller and the other is a 3rd party ps4 controller. Either you people are not willing to take risk or something else broke your controller. And I'm a happy camper playing old ps2 games on my samsung tablet

    I don't know if its just the charger block I used or what. But people PLEASE do not charge your controllers with anything but the console or a controller dock. My old controller broke from this and I haven't had my new controller 24 hours and the same thing happened

  • @dbeusmc

    I just use the USB ports on the front of any console. And if the cable is not long enough, buy a USB extension cable. That way i know i wont be damaging anything

    PSA: If you're charging the Move controller (either generation) or the Aim Controller, it would appear that they refuse to charge *unless* plugged into a Playstation or a PC. Wall chargers won't work (or in my case, a USB charge port on my surge protector also won't work). You can use a PS4 to charge PS3 controllers as well (and I assume vice-versa, but didn't test).

    I have plugged my ps4 controller to 5.0v 2.0A charger, it charged but it was about to damage the controller, I discovered that the yellow light of controller It became intermittent and not smooth as usual, I disconnected the charge, turned on the controller, and gave a red light instead of the pale blue as usual.
    I connected the controller to the phone via OTG and then returned to normal in both lights and without a problem, so be careful of this method

      I know I'm late, but it's the 9 volt ones that you do NOT want to use. Those are the one's that'll damage both the controller and the battery. If it just says 5 volts with 1 amp or higher, you should be all set! 👍
