This video focuses on Aristotle's work, the Categories, and examines his discussion in chapter 6 of the relationship between space, time, and quantity. Both space and time are what Aristotle calls continuous quantity.

You helped me improve my understanding of Aristotle's views on space, time, and number immensely. I will be watching this video again and again!
Cool!
Like your videos. Thank you
You're welcome!
Thanks
Do you have lectures on the Physics?
Ha, the youtube timeline was a nice impromptu teaching aid about the passage of time, simple but effective. The idea that space seems like a contrary but isn't (I think because nothing is changing, its just location) yet it is used linguistically to define contraries (what's furthest from happy) is a fun quirk. I can see how space could be confused as a contrary since near and far can be used for position (space) and also for relation.
You could add to that many of our metaphors for processes of change and opposition are spatial
@@GregoryBSadler Good point, thankyou.
Hello, Sir. It is a very good explanation.
But, where can I get that book (on your hand) from?

Thank you
You’re welcome!
I finally know what the intrinsic nature of time is: a whole and continuous quantity that doesn’t contain any contraries and doesn’t derive itself from anything else.
Well. . . there are multiple concepts of time out there
Should Aristotle be considered a presentist?
So is it right to say for Aristotle space is a substance?
It is not. You'll want to read his Physics to understand his views on space
@@GregoryBSadler thank you!
Thanks. RUclips subtitles SUCK.
Well, sounds like a complaint to make to RUclips.
@@GregoryBSadler As a principle, who should complain? You're making a video with complicated concepts and RUclips subtitles get it all wrong. This discredits your work.
As a viewer I intend to benefit from your knowledge; I might not understand your accent (I might not speak English as a first language) but subtitles have to reflect what you say.
My complaint represents ONE appreciative viewer who is dissatisfied with RUclips, but the video creator (yourself) represents his entire audience.
@@GregoryBSadler Apparently this link allows video creators to provide their own subtitles. You have an international audience, please consider this, tx. support.google.com/youtube/answer/2734796?hl=en
@@MArk-yn4sp What time do you think I'll somehow carve out of my incredibly busy days to spend on thAt task for the 1500+ videos I've provided here for free?
I'd use the time you have to rethink this one on your part
