For those wondering at 8, why he simply added 1 and 2 to them. It's because the concentration we are looking for is actually the concentration of H+ ions in the solution, but since there are two moles of H in the molecule we have to add that 2, on the other side since it's a base we have the OH- concentration, however since there is only on mole of OH, the coefficient in front of the m1v1 is well 1. Hope it makes sense, and that I am not mistaken hahaha.
For all of us taking it in 2019 and then probably taking Chem 2 next semester. I wish y’all good luck Forgot to come back and tell how I did... Passed that test because of this last minute review

you're my life saver. I have my final on Friday and I'm feeling much more confident just after the first 3 minutes of this video. Thank you Thank you so much!!!!
Leaving in an hour to go to my ACS final, was a really great review and retaught me everything way better than the two review sessions i went to. Thank you!
Buy a white board and pause the video and explain to an invisible class the same thing he said using your white board... if you fail, that means you didn't really learn, so you have to watch it again. Repeat!! That works for me.
I've taken chemistry a million times and never had I ever understood quantum numbers like i did just now. THANK YOU SO MUCH... I will probably forget again over the summer but, for now, it saved my life!
if i had just watched this whole video at the beginning of the year i would have aced all of my chem tests. he explains everything so well. all these concepts that once made no sense now seem so simple. I'm ready to destroy this final on Wednesday!!!
Loved the format of just working through problems. Helped to be able to take a stab at it before watching how you solve. Your tone, speed, etc are perfect. Some videos go too fast and others too slow.
thank you OCT for single handedly making a whole education empire that teaches us everything! You have provided more meaningful lessons than 10,000 schools ever could.

This video definitely helps. I got a high B on this exam last year thanks to his video and mind you I struggling on every test before then. I'm now using his other video to study for my chem 2 final, so good luck everyone
19:25 was all it took for me to finally get it. The whole point of the dimensional analysis was to get to to match up to the Molarity formula which is why it works. That’s something that an entire semester of gen chem lectures couldn’t get through to me.
Hey Elana! My name is Emely and I'm currently a sophomore in college. I'm interested in taking the DAT next summer. I saw you mentioned that this vid helped you prepare for your dat. I'm currently trying to prepare my study plan for the dat and I would love to hear your experience and what helped you/what didnt. If you're comfortable with sharing your story, shoot me an email at eruiz18444@gmail.com! I'd love to have a chat about the professional DAT exam. Take care, Emely
Bob Builder It was really well organized. Questions about certain subjects appeared in blocks. So for example, the first 7-8 questions of my exam was basic skills questions, like how many protons does this atom have, naming compounds, etc. Then dimensional analysis, there was a thermochemistry portion, gas laws, Lewis structures, hybridizations, electron domain geometries. Those were the sections that stuck out to me the most. It wasn’t half as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Clemence Declaire I didn’t use the study guide, do you mean experimental yield, percent yield, things like that? If so, yes. I had a random experimental yield question in the middle of my test, but yours will likely be different. I’d review those concepts, just to be safe. :)
WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW GRATEFUL I AM FOR YOU. I WATCHED BOTH VIDEOS FOR MY FINAL AND PASSED. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH. I WILL CONTINUE USING YOUR CHANNEL AS A RESOURCE. Again, thank you. 🙏🏾💕
Thank you so much for this!!! My teacher is so confusing and I have no idea what I've been doing this semester. I can't thank you enough for your videos and explanations.

I am a freshman in high school taking my midterm in a few hours for chemistry. It is a super fast paced class and the professor does not like explaining, these videos are why I am still passing. Hopefully I do well on my test!! Thanks for saving my grade 😊
i would comment in every video you have that you are appreciated for these videos! You are amazing at teaching, really gifted. Many professors employed in universities today can't compare to you, because of your deep understanding of how learning really works. Your efforts save countless students all over the globe. You are appreciated! God bless will you indeed, He'll be the one to return the favor to you. Thanks!
Bob Builder Yeah this video was the only thing i used. What was on this video was on most of the test. The other parts is really just common sense questions. its 70 questions total
As an engineering student, ive always prefered the later 3 parts of STEM, and had a weak point in science. Being put in a Chem181 course really shook me up. Yet, with your videos such as this one, its been significantly easier to learn what I need to. Plus in HS with calc 1 and 2, you've been a lifesaver.
I can not thank you enough !!!!!!! you are a lifesaver. Thanks for the good work you are doing, you have no idea how this helped me with my finals. Thank you

thank you so much for putting in the time and dedication to make these amazing videos!!! my gen chem final is in a few days and your videos being there throughout the semester has helped me understand and enjoy chemistry more
People studying for the ACS, I highly recommend watching all his videos related to the ACS review at least one time. I took it and was able to do a little above average from just a couple days of studying from his videos. Hardest part is the time, I recommend doing problems over and over again until it is extremely easy to do in under a minute. Good luck :)
First of all I wish I would've watched this as a sophomore in high school struggling in AP Chem and eventually a 2 on the exam smh but now I'm a college freshman and my final is tomorrow so I'm just watching this on fast forward and working through the problems with the video. Thank you so much for this video because my final is a multiple choice exam but EVERY other exam has been free response solving so I had no idea what questions were going to look like. This is perfect, god bless you guys!
GOLD! dude thank you so much. I watched a ton of your videos all semester and was so excited to see you have this! I need to ace my final. Thank you thank you thank you sir
I live for these videos. I've watched them in the shower before school, fallen asleep to them, and now im actually completely awake and invested in them. God bless this man and his clear way of explaining and easy-to-listen-to voice fr
im taking my chem final tomorrow and i currently have a 42% in the class. Ya'll wish me luck. and hopefully ill remember this so i cancome back and update yall
what’s up u guys, if ur taking this in 2020, and you have the grey version, just know there’s a lot of math. i got a lot of A’s and B’s but i also guessed quite a bit. i made a 68 which is passing in my class, so i made a D. i also have failed every exam so far in there. so making a 68 was like making a 100 for me lol
whales03 i mean if you can do better than a 42 on an exam then you should make like an 80 on this, so like best of luck to you, and don’t use C as your guessing letter. there are very few of them. stick to A’s and B’s
I too have an exam tomorrow. Currently have a 70 in the class. This review makes everything clear with the steps given. Ill update how I did on the test :D
s vandermeer I got a 65 on the exam and a 78 as my final grade. So a C. My professor was terrible but was switched mid semester. It was a hard game of catching up. But this did help me a ton.
Mikal1209 Im going through almost exactly that right now. Im just hoping to get a B, and i totally would have one right now if my teacher was more dedicated to helping her students :/ At least it was a high C in the end!

Mines is in 28 mins
For those wondering at 8, why he simply added 1 and 2 to them. It's because the concentration we are looking for is actually the concentration of H+ ions in the solution, but since there are two moles of H in the molecule we have to add that 2, on the other side since it's a base we have the OH- concentration, however since there is only on mole of OH, the coefficient in front of the m1v1 is well 1. Hope it makes sense, and that I am not mistaken hahaha.

Whyyyy does it look so easy when he does it but when I get my exam I freeze up and don't know how to do it?
Sally May you need more practice to solidify concepts
You never worked through the problem yourself so you never figured out how to apply the concepts/math to the problems.
Just breathe when your taking your exam. Research shows anxiety plays a big role in your performance.
Buy a white board and pause the video and explain to an invisible class the same thing he said using your white board... if you fail, that means you didn't really learn, so you have to watch it again. Repeat!! That works for me.

19:25 was all it took for me to finally get it. The whole point of the dimensional analysis was to get to to match up to the Molarity formula which is why it works.

93%. Thank you a million times man. This was my first semester back in school after a long absence, and you’ve helped me stay afloat.
was this two hour video all you needed or did you buy the 8 hour video?
Took the ACS this morning. This video really helped! If you can do everything in this video, you can do everything on the test. Good luck!
really? what subjects did it focus on?
Do you need to know the labchem section? It was in the study guide
Allison Spurlock did you use the ACS practice booklet at all??? I purchased it and it just confuses me more than anything else
this guide saved my ass for my ACS final. on to gen. chem 2, see y'all next semester!

what’s up u guys, if ur taking this in 2020, and you have the grey version, just know there’s a lot of math. i got a lot of A’s and B’s but i also guessed quite a bit. i made a 68 which is passing in my class, so i made a D. i also have failed every exam so far in there. so making a 68 was like making a 100 for me lol
looks like me and you are in the same situation
