Thank you so much for this video . I recently got my own and I asked family for help to set it up and it turned to a complete crazy fight fiasco so I ended having to do it entirely by myself even though it’s my first own ac. Your video helped calm my stress and Anxiety from that fiasco . You explained everything so well and clearly. I appreciate this .😊
Glad I could help stay cool with the Toshiba and thanks for watching
I wish I would’ve seen your video 2 weeks ago when my main AC roof unit went out. I would not have moved away for two weeks while I waited for my AC to get repaired. On my way to Home Depot to buy one now. Thank you so much for your tutorial. I feel confident about installing it myself now. Amazing job. Thanks. 🙏
Yes, if your AC goes down these things can save you in a temporary situation. I wouldn’t use them forever, but it’ll cool off the house while you fix your AC. It took about a week to get mine done, but I was cool at least in this one room which really helped, good luck thank you for
I don't know If you are a teacher, but you did an excellent demonstration of operating this portable AC unit. Toshiba should pay you for such a good job. Congrats.
Wow, thanks!
I agree, I AM a teacher and he explains things better than I do!
@@maxitupacademy thanks I appreciate those kind words and again thank you so much for watching
I agree! I live in Hawaii and purchased one of these yesterday. My dad set it up but I wanted to know the details on how to work “R2” 😊
@@808hey glad I could help. Thanks for watching.
As somebody who is not the least bit handy, I was getting so frustrated trying to set this thing up by myself. I gave up for the day, but this excellent video has given me the confidence to try again. If I actually get it up and running, Toshiba will owe you some money, because I was about ready to return it!
You can do it. Good luck on the install and thank you for watching stay cool this summer.
Man this helps mine arrived today and I was about to go to Home Depot to buy a longer drain hose thinking it needed to be run out my window. Now I know I can just drain it into an empty milk jug, you are the man. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Glad to hear it stay cool this summer and thanks for watching
This video saved us! The AC company gave us this same make and model as a loaner and he left the hose in our living room said it sucks the hot air in and the cool air comes out! The house got so hot I knew he messed up! Your video was so detailed I was able to put the hose out the window so the hot air wasn’t blowing inside our home! Best Tutorial! Thank you!
Glad I could help and thanks for watching
Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
Glad to hear it stay cool thanks for watching
Thank you, Sir! I’m so grateful that I have horizontal windows. Everything slipped right into place. As a single lady it was nice to have a tutorial. The hardest part for me was wrestling the darn thing out of my car and through the garage! Thanks for the tip with the shallow pan and the filter demonstration was awesome too!
Excellent glad to hear it’s not too hard to put together. Stay cool the summer and thanks for watching.
Your install video for the "Toshiba Portable Air Conditioner" was incredibly helpful, and I appreciate your personal tips and touches. I'm a senior female (70 trips around the Sun) and was able to install it myself. You saved me $150 (which is what the A/C Guy charged me for his 20-min. install last year). Thank you SO much, Tom ~ Enjoy the day!!
Where is that I can help I am also 68 so I know what it’s like. Thank you for watching.🤙😎
EXCELLENT! You are clear at every step and very precise. I am 75 year old woman and the terms and names of things often mess me up, Not with this little unit, thanks to you! My unit was gifted to me and was missing some parts, but didn't know what to call them when I am talking to the place from whom I can order. I feel SOOOO confident. Thanks so much!!!! ANd I subscribed.
Wonderful! Stay cool this summer and thank you for watching
You did a great job with this! I bought these ACs a few days ago and was so intimidated I didn't turn it on yet. Then I looked at the manual and it was incomprehensible past the first page. Thank you very much!
Great to hear! Stay cool this summer
Helpful video. The instructions that come with the unit are for multiple models, so you don’t know what you are supposed to do…or whether you have missing parts.
And usually the instructions are not very intuitive. Good luck stay cool thanks for watching.
You did an amazing job. I used this video for Midea portable AC installation. I watched a couple of videos and no one went into details with the installation steps like you did. Thank you.
Awesome, thank you!
I don't even have an air conditioner, let alone this one... but couldn't stop watching, as you were explaining in such a "customer-centric" way! 😊👍 Thank you! If I get an air conditioner, I will come back to watch your video again! 😁
Great to hear!🤙 thanks for watching
Excellent tutorial!!!! The URL for this video ought to be pasted onto everyone of these at the seller's location.
The manual sure left me with a lot of questions, most of which you answered clearly.
Call Henry could help stay cool the summer
Thanks for the help with window foam Tom…I used some painters tape on the inside to hold the foam in place once all the gaps were filled. I didn’t make any of the foam permanent as I’ll take this down at the end of summer. Thanks Again!
🎸🔊🎶🤘✌️❤️🤟
Stay cool the summer thanks for watching
I have an LG model portable AC from HD. It’s awesome. Really keeps the room cool.
No drain issues, just the initial set up which is quite easy, and plug it in.
Excellent stay cool this summer
I just ordered one too tired of taking the ac in and out of the window every year not getting any younger 🤣 and awesome video by the way covering everything I'm sure I'll need it to install
Glad I could help. Enjoy your new air conditioner.
Just got this the other day and it’s a life saver. I had to use the hose on top drain and ran it into a empty gallon old detergent bottle and it fills up to the top after running it for 8+ hours. I’m surprised w how much water because I’m in Vegas 😂
It’s amazing how much water they pull out of the air I drain mine every day in Florida
This is the best video I've seen at explaining everything thoroughly. Thank you so much for making this. I was debating on getting this but never had a portable ac before but after watching this video I feel confident in buying this, setting it up, and maintaining it. You did an awesome job and now have a new subscriber!
You're very welcome! Thank you for those kind words and thanks for watching
Toshiba should sponsor this video. I might end up buying one just because I have an easy tutorial to follow.
Thank you for those kind words. I appreciate it. Stay cool this summer and thanks for watching.
excellent! I have two LG portable air conditioners and I was able to put the first one in with no problem. It’s a little bit larger size. The smaller one I was having problems getting the panels to fit. And my screen fell out. Lol. I noticed you don’t have a screen, so I was looking at your instructions a little more carefully and it looks like it will work on my side. Thanks so much!
Great to hear! Good luck on the install stay for the summer
Man you sure made learning about something as stale as an ac unit very engaging and thorough. Thanks for making this video!
Glad I could help stay cool this summer and thanks for watching
I was surprised at how little water drained from the unit, especially being in Florida. Here, in NW Ga, this unit drains 2 gallons every 3-4 hours!
Good video.
I’m down in DelrayBeach and I had to drain that thing almost every day but it was really humid when I was running it keep cool the summer and thanks for watching😎🤙
@@TomLeeman amazing...I can't even run mine if I'm away for more than 4 hours. I have my drain hose run into a 5-gallon container. It's full within that time. That's how humid it is here.
@@ScotchArsh that’s how it is in Florida to think fills up quicker. Good luck stay cool thanks for watching.
Sir, you did an amazing demonstration, such a great job. You covered every single step, definitely the best step-by-step video I’ve seen, thank you so much.
Wow, thank you!😎🤙
I appreciate the video.
Very Concise, Informative and In Depth !
This Tutorial answered some of the questions I had with my Unit I bought last month.
I finally got some time off to look at it and go through the settings.
Just got done Cleaning the Filters for the First Time as I was watching Your Video.
Luckily I stumbled upon your video and I figured out all there is to need to know.
Well Done !
Great to hear! Stay cool this summer it’s gonna be a hot one
This was the most thorough instructional video I’ve ever seen. Going to purchase one of these. Thank you for sharing this. Excellent demonstration!!!

I bought white duct tape from Dollar General and covered any gaps in the window plate . It matched well and keeps any possible bugs from getting in
Great idea stay cool thanks for watching
Does your outlet duct have protective measures?
Thanks so much for this video Tom! We just purchase this unit today due to our air conditioning unit not working correctly. This was very helpful to us! 😊🙏🏻And yes, it seems to be a pretty good unit! 👍🏻
Glad it helped Stay cool the summer.
Just got one of these because my main ac went out and it's 100+ degrees and we need something to work while we wait for a technician! Thanks!
Good luck! Stay cool 😎
Thank you for this amazing video. There were a few questions I had that were not covered in the manual, but you covered them! I also appreciate how you showed how to do things a couple times just to make sure people understood! Thank you again!
You are welcome! Stay cool the summer thanks for watching
something that I learned the hard way is not to pound anything. Those plastic clip areas that hold various parts together just break so easy.
I’m sorry to hear that. Might have to take it back and get a new one.
Superglue.
Best explanation EVER of how to use A portable AC.
Thanks for appreciate those kind words
Thank you for the step to step! This video helped me out a lot. It’s up and running and my home is feeling so coo 🤗

Job well done.

Yes, it works really good. I did get a 14,000 and it’s much stronger but this one was pretty good.
Thank you very much for very clear instructions.
You emphasize and repeat it to enhance learning. Great instructor!

I opened the instructions and said f this lol, I went to you tube stumbled here and got it installed in less than 5 mins!!! Thanks for the walk through have mine hooked up to a surge protector just incase and this beast works just fine for our bedroom as we Intended
Glad I could help
Thank you so much. You covered everything I needed.
You're welcome! Stay cool this summer
Good video- our ac is out and can't get parts until next week so I am heading out to buy this unit. Just fyi, the plug on it is a GFCI not a fuse.
Good tip! Thanks and stay cool
Thank you so much for the excellent video. I am more of a “I need to see how it all fits together” person and the instructions for me were garbage.
Glad it was helpful! stay cool this summer and thanks for watching😎🤙
Thank you so much for this video!!! So informative, and useful.
Excellent glad I could help. Keep cool in the summer.
At 17:00 you didnt unplug the drain .....you have to have it unplugged at all times , the bucket solution is the best . $ 400.00 Home Depot ....ye haw !!
Also ..the wall plug has an overcharge breaker in it ..so its an added safety plug .
Its a Great Unit ..... im super pleased after 3 years .
Excellent tip
Thanks so much for this video - your calm demeanor is great for beginners!!
You're so welcome!
I just got one of these from someone used. It’s pouring out water like crazy. After seeing your video I think maybe he never emptied the water out! I’m gonna see if it’s that or if it’s missing those plug inserts. Thanks for the video!
Good luck if you have some hoses you could stick on that drag to a bucket that might work. Thanks for watching.

For the bottom plus, you could just put the unit up on a couple of cinder blocks. Then you could just put an entire bucket under the thing and let it drain and easy access. Just set it up higher than floor level.
Good idea
Thank you for a very helpful and complete explanation. Now I feel confident I will understand the manual. Minor observation - slow down the movement of the camera when you can.
Glad to hear it see cool this summer and thank you for watching

This was a very informative video! Thanks for making it so easy to understand. I just bought and set up this unit. It’s in a relatively small room. The room doesn’t cool down as much as I think it should. Does anyone have a favorite setting to get and keep the room cool?
I put it on cool and then drop it down to like 73°
Best instructional video ever !!
Thanks to you , AC is up and running !! 😊
Great to hear! Stay cool this summer and thank you for watching
Well, we are in Florida and I had to drain it almost every day because it filled up because it’s very humid here and the building I was using it and it was very humid so depending on the humidity depend how many times you’ve got it good luck
Thank you for this helpful video! I wanted to be sure I had the drain hose done correctly, and you had a clear, easy answer. :)
You're welcome!
Nice video, explains a lot. Tho it must be dry were you live. I have the drain line on going into a container and dump it out every other hour. Last night I over filled a 2.5 gal container. I'm in central Texas.
Oh I heard it was over 100° in Texas. We’re in Florida and I had to drain it every day but that’s crazy. It’s a lot of water coming out of the air. Good luck stay cool thanks for watching.
You just made my life a little easier 😂. Thank you for thks thorough video! Hope the Quality lasts!

Thanks so much for the vid. Very informative! Question, can this unit run off of a extention if the extention is the only thing going into the outlet?
I would try not to use an extension cord. It is not recommend it. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the info! Your video showed me exactly what to do to hook mine up! :)
Great to hear stay cool this summer and thanks for watching
Thanks for the insulation bit because i was confused on how to do it 😂

thx for the detail. did the wooden stick come with it for the window or where did you get that? yours is 12000 BTU? how much does that cool (square footage)
I have a bamboo tree and I cut the bamboo off it and use it as window blocks so that you can open your window just a couple inches and get air or for the AC you like I did here and it keeps from letting anybody break into your house? Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for this video, you literally answered every single question I had.
Glad I could help. Keep cool.
Great video! I was thinking about getting one of these units but was iffy as I live in an old home. Def gonna get one. Very much appreciated! Def have a new subscriber!
Excellent thanks for watching
Do you set the swinging door open or to swing? You mention heat, does this have a heater setting?
I think you have to check and see if it’s dual where it heats and cools. I’m not sure if this one does that because I can’t remember and I got rid of it or sold it little while ago.
Was hesitant on watching a 30min video but the comment on a person from China missing a pin was hilarious😂 great video!
Thanks appreciate it. Stay cool thanks for watching.
Thank you so much, you did such a great job ❤
You're welcome 😊
You are awesome I did not have a clue what to do with your helpI was able to complete my task.Thank you so much
You're very welcome! Keep cool in this heat dome and thanks for writing
I’m missing the pins for the boards, what alternative can I use? Will regular screws from Home Depot work? Please advise. Thanks
You can use screws for sure that’ll work
Thank you very much. How well does it work as a heater?
I never used as a heater
@@TomLeeman ahh ok I was wondering if it would be a good solution for heating and cooling an attic bedroom.
At about 8 minute mark its funny to me because in Brownsville TX my big bucket fills up in a few hours, very humid here.
Yes, it’s very humid here too in Florida so you have to drain it every day. Good luck thanks for watching.
I wanted to buy one but was concerned because I have side opening windows too. I was also worried about the humidity since I am in Miami,, FL and they say the humidity might cause issues. Thanks for all the info.
We’re in Florida also and it’s super humid so I had to drain it every day
Thanks video was helpful
No problem! Stay cool this summer. Thanks for watching.
This helped so much. Thank you! But I have a question do we need to add water to do this? Bc mine doesn’t really blow out cold air
No, you do not add water but you will have to drain water out of it as the condensation is stored in the upper and lower parts of the machine. They do give you a tube that you can attach to trade it into a bucket or you may have to pick the machine up and tilted a little bit to get the bottom drain to purge but do not add water. Keep cool the summer and thank you for watching.
Great video! Thank you for your time.
My pleasure!
Does it have some sort of auto shut off if you forget to drain it or if you have left the house for too long? It seems that with the plugs its a sealed system?
Yes, if it gets too full of water, it will turn itself off like any AC and I think it beeps before it does that but I never let it get that far. Good luck stay cool thanks for watching.
Do you need a specific window size for this portable ac to work? I’m worried about purchasing this since my window is smaller.
No, you can cut the window place if you have to it’s pretty easy and they have sliders so they can adjust it to the size of the window. If it’s super small, you just need to get a pair of sheet metal shears, or a hacksaw and just cut it into so it fits. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
On the outside vent. What did you use for a cover? I thought it whould come with a cover like a dryer but it's just an opening with no cover. Any suggestions
Well, it’s an exhaust vent so it’s blowing out and I have a screen over the window which keeps anything from getting into it
@@TomLeeman thanks. I cut a piece of 3/4 plywood instead of using the plastic cover and ran it like a dryer vent.
@@rigrocker2957 that is an excellent idea. Necessity is the mother of invention.

You are welcome. Thank you for watching and keep cool.
thank you
You're welcome stay cool this summer
Thanks man you’ve been the most helpful.
No problem 👍 try to stay cool the summer in this crazy heat wave
You need to use the drain plug hose from the top so it goes down to a 5 gallon bucket. After 8 hours, my 5 gallon bucket is a little over half full. That's how much water is built up in 90 degree weather. Another thing is the small foam you used to put in front of the window, that is a pain to take off. It creates a huge mess. The thicker foam that goes inside the window sill is better. I would just put the thin adhesive foam on the side window and the small screw circle gaps just tape that off. Otherwise it's a great video!
Excellent info thank you and thanks for watching
I love this presentation 👏

Thanks, will do! And you keep cool this summer thank you for watching
great job installing and explaining
Thank you! Stay cool this summer
Tom what is purpose you put the big hose on the outside of the window?
That’s the exhaust for the hot air. Basically these are heat exchangers and you want to blow the hot air out side.
