    Thank you so much for this video . I recently got my own and I asked family for help to set it up and it turned to a complete crazy fight fiasco so I ended having to do it entirely by myself even though it’s my first own ac. Your video helped calm my stress and Anxiety from that fiasco . You explained everything so well and clearly. I appreciate this .😊

    I wish I would’ve seen your video 2 weeks ago when my main AC roof unit went out. I would not have moved away for two weeks while I waited for my AC to get repaired. Yes, if your AC goes down these things can save you in a temporary situation. I wouldn’t use them forever, but it’ll cool off the house while you fix your AC. It took about a week to get mine done, but I was cool at least in this one room which really helped, good luck thank you for

    Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install.This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

      I think you have to check and see if it’s dual where it heats and cools. I’m not sure if this one does that because I can’t remember and I got rid of it or sold it little while ago.

    This helped so much. Thank you! But I have a question do we need to add water to do this? Bc mine doesn’t really blow out cold air

    • @TomLeeman
      @TomLeeman  10 месяцев назад

      No, you do not add water but you will have to drain water out of it as the condensation is stored in the upper and lower parts of the machine. They do give you a tube that you can attach to trade it into a bucket or you may have to pick the machine up and tilted a little bit to get the bottom drain to purge but do not add water. Keep cool the summer and thank you for watching.

    Does it have some sort of auto shut off if you forget to drain it or if you have left the house for too long? It seems that with the plugs its a sealed system?

    • @TomLeeman
      @TomLeeman  11 дней назад

      Yes, if it gets too full of water, it will turn itself off like any AC and I think it beeps before it does that but I never let it get that far. Good luck stay cool thanks for watching.

  • @nijjarmonx7451

    Do you need a specific window size for this portable ac to work? I’m worried about purchasing this since my window is smaller.

    • @TomLeeman
      @TomLeeman  5 месяцев назад

      No, you can cut the window place if you have to it’s pretty easy and they have sliders so they can adjust it to the size of the window. If it’s super small, you just need to get a pair of sheet metal shears, or a hacksaw and just cut it into so it fits. Good luck. Thanks for watching.

    On the outside vent. What did you use for a cover? I thought it whould come with a cover like a dryer but it's just an opening with no cover. Any suggestions

    • @TomLeeman
      @TomLeeman  11 месяцев назад

      Well, it’s an exhaust vent so it’s blowing out and I have a screen over the window which keeps anything from getting into it

    You need to use the drain plug hose from the top so it goes down to a 5 gallon bucket. After 8 hours, my 5 gallon bucket is a little over half full. That's how much water is built up in 90 degree weather. Another thing is the small foam you used to put in front of the window, that is a pain to take off. It creates a huge mess. The thicker foam that goes inside the window sill is better. I would just put the thin adhesive foam on the side window and the small screw circle gaps just tape that off. Otherwise it's a great video!

    Tom what is purpose you put the big hose on the outside of the window?

    • @TomLeeman
      @TomLeeman  8 месяцев назад

      That’s the exhaust for the hot air. Basically these are heat exchangers and you want to blow the hot air out side.
