- Cluckingham Palace would not be complete without Chickens! In this video, I show the story of how we got our chickens and raised them. First they lived in a box in the house, then we moved them to the coop where they lived inside only for the first 6 weeks. There is still much more to cover as we learn more about what it's like to raise chickens in our backyard. Enjoy!

Just a heads up, you might want to anchor that heat lamp a little better. My neighbor had his set up like that and one of the chickens knocked it down and burned down his coop and his garage.
Yeah... this might be a good idea!
Similar thing happened to a coworker of mine. Heat lamp caught some hay of fire and it burned down his whole house. Need to be very careful with those
OH MY GOSH! 😳 also are the chickens ok
Keep an eye out for domination, they peck the back of the neck and are relentless. What an incredible Coop Ben.
Chickens: "We're ready for our closeup, Mr. Tardif....take our PICKture."
Love this series, Ben....great work!
By the way, did you know you can feed your chickens grass clippings? As long as you don't use any pesticides or weed killers, about a handful of grass clippings per chicken each time you mow the lawn is great for them, any you end up with tastier eggs! You can also feed them any dandelions from pulled from your yard or garden, roots and all!
Thank you Ben for taking us on this wonderful journey. Now I know the process and we are looking forward to sharing some memories of our own , one day. Congratulations on the wonderful build and your new feathered friends. Great job!!
I say, I say, I say… nice job, boy!
We love the part where the chickens are looking at the camera. So funny. Great video Ben.
Congrats on the chicks! They look like they have adjusted well.🐓🙂
They’re soooo cute, we got ours from Myer Hatchery the shipping is only $50. And if you get 15 it’s only $15.
Our Delaware (lemon) loves to stand on our hands when we hand feed them
Reminds me of when I was a kid in Ohio. Every year my dad would send to McMurray hatchery we get baby chicks in the mail. Only it wasn't $500 then
💞the name of your coop truely fits your build.❣️🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤in california.the only time they are noisey is when they're clucking while laying eggs. Rooster's are the noisey ones. My neighbors have them & we have double pained windows lol it's not too bad.
Amazing. 🤩
They are SO CUTE
Been watching your vids. Your dogs keep you busy for sure. Next project. Build automatic ball machine for your dogs so they can retrieve their ball themselves. Would be neat. Lol
Too precious 🐣🐥
Overall, a beautiful coop. I'm glad to see somene build an attractive structure that adds value to the home rather than a shack with corrugated iron. The door x's, the natural branches, the paving sontes, and the planters are a really nice touch. To carry on remaking on the good, I love the shingle roof. I always build my coop rooves with plywood and roll roofing. Metal is hot in summer and cold in winter. Besides, it is ugly. You did the roof with class. I love the L-shape, although it would be too much for some. The cement board siding and the hardware cloth predator aprong are great. A lot of people use fence mesh. It keeps out the raccons, but the snakes and rats are not deterred. The double coop door is brilliant. It is something I want to implement. Just some suggestions. The clean out tray will cause problems. The shavings will get down in the frame and prohibit easy removal and replacement. It would be better to make the main floor of plywood and treat it with exterior varnish or line it with linoleum tiles. The branches are poorly secured. Nail pieces or 2x4 or 1x4 on the ends, then mount the brances with these pieces. Use a better hasp for the nests than the hook and eye. A slot hasp with a clip would be better. The watering system will be useless in freezing weather.
Awesome to see them enjoying it! is that all for the build?
Papa Ben is proud of his girls.
so do they have names or are they chick1-6? thanks for bring us along on the journey
Chick-fil-A, chick-fil-B, etc.
Original, extra crispy, spicy, bbq, sweet, and sour.
Love the names.
That first technical difficulty clip just screams POV: you’ve come to the wrong neighborhood.
Reminds me of the pigeons from Animaniacs.
Surprised you didn't put an electric outlet inside up by the roof to avoid having to run an extension cord or some kind of installed lighting
How do the dogs react to the chickens?
You might want to wrap the bars they perch on.
do you have a twitch live stream?
is the plan to clip their wings and let them explore the garden?
Widen the roost.
time to give them some fun things.... hang a lettuce, give them spagetti, table scraps.....
...and now i want chickens...
looks like your ramp steps need to be closer together
I live in Orange County CA. My neighbors would burn me alive if I got chickens.
Ben lives in the same county. Most of the cities in the county permit backyard chickens. A few prohibit roosters.
Are you going to introduce a male rooster ?
Chickums!
pog
You might want to round over the corners of the sticks they're sitting on. It will fit there feet better...
Hansel just wants to play hide-a-chick.
Who is the Boss Lady?
She appears in a few videos now and then. If you watch his older videos you'll be able to see her.
His wife, or what Rumpole used to call, "She Who Must Be Obeyed."
No DOOFY?!! Sacrilege!
Brawndo, it's got what chicks crave... It's got electrolytes
