Puuwai Regatta

So far this season the outrigger races have been characterized by rough weather. At the Pu'uwai Regatta for 2024 we finally had a beautiful day! Yeah, it was hot, but no canoes were swamped by incoming waves, there were no hulis, and every tent and pop-up stayed stuck to the ground.
Thanks to Dana and her crew under the officials tent, the race schedule ran as smoothly as it could have and we were breaking down at 4:30 which is a couple hours sooner than typical for regatta day.
Many, many mahalos go out to Val from Kilohana for operating a food booth. Having sampled much of what was available, I can personally vouch for her skill at preparing and serving a great race-day menu. I'm looking forward to the Hokualele regatta where Val will again be providing the food.
