      @mattcarberry368 2 месяца назад +2

      people can't forget that because that's literally *not* what it's based on lol it's who they view as the best players heading into THIS season, that's why we see guys who were on IR half the season last year still on the list
      it's funny how they've done this for decades now and people still don't understand the premise lol

    • @dampfanator
      @dampfanator 2 месяца назад +1

      @mattcarberry368 "The NFL Top 100 is an annual television series counting down the top one hundred players in the National Football League (NFL), as chosen by fellow NFL players. The rankings are based on an off-season poll organized by the NFL, where players vote on their peers based on their performance for the recent NFL season. Only players that are not retired in the next season are eligible for consideration."
      Of COURSE there will always be bias in the voting of guys voting for their dude. Like Aaron Rodgers making the list. But it's mainly voting on who was the top players the most recent season.

    • @mattcarberry368
      @mattcarberry368 2 месяца назад

      @@dampfanator dude it's the 2024 Top 100, not the 2023 Top 100 lol i remember NFL Network explaining this over and over and over back in the day when it launched. Dudes who were on IR for FULL SEASONS like Rodgers last year, Peyton that year he missed with the neck etc, they're always still there because it's not just ranking who did what last year, it's who's the best RIGHT NOW which yeah obviously what happened last year will be a factor of
      but ranking who did what last season is 100% absolutely *not* the point of this

    • @dampfanator
      @dampfanator 2 месяца назад

      @mattcarberry368 as I said there is bias.
      And yes it's the top 100 for 2024 going into the season, but players are asked to consider most the last year of play. It's not that hard to comprehend.
      Quoting from the shows own summary, "where players vote on their peers based on their performance for the recent NFL season."

    Just my two cents, but it seems to me Mangini's input is usually so bland, so middle of the road as to be instantly forgettable. I don't want the current sports media screaming head contrarian BS, but Mangini just seems to me to be a yes man, and adds little to the conversation. "That's right, Colin," he says, and then paraphrases what Cowherd has already said. I usually don't click on the segments featuring him because it's a waste of time.
