I have now Platinumed Armored Core 6 on two different accounts! This proves that even after all the patches and nerfs, it is still possible using the builds from this playlist.
I just got an S-Rank on this mission. I boosted to every objective, dodged as much damage as possible from the trash mobs while completing the objectives and then beat the boss without using any repair kits. My repair cost was around 14k and my ammo cost was pretty cheap, too.
Do you get improved scoring if you take damage, but don’t use a repair kit? Obviously better to avoid as much damage as possible, but if you get hit hard and don’t use a kit, does that increase your score? GG on your S rank too!
@@Eternal_Tinsel I literally ran this just after reading this comment. You can use 1 repair kit and still achieve S rank. You want to avoid damage while boosting to the wrecks as much as possible but there is the one wreck on the right of the stage that you HAVE to use missiles on and you'll probably take a little damage. Other than that, don't be afraid of taking 1 repair kit to save yourself.
This Armored Core is a lot harder than the others that I have played. I was able to beat the first Armored Core just by arming rockets that would shoot automatically while I boosted to spots that the enemy couldn't get a good shot at me. This version forces you to do way more air combat from the very start and moves way faster. It's time to up my level of play!
You can still go for missile focused builds in this one. I found they helped with fights where I was getting overwhelmed, could just strafe around while getting consistent locks/damage. This particular mission was surprisingly tough to S rank for me, since I had gotten used to my personal builds and needed to use the base mech
I feel like getting an S-rank on this mission is partially just pure luck. I'm playing as aggressive as I possibly can but he either flies away while I'm assault boosting and/or goes out of bounds and breaks my stance, combo-ing me pretty much to death. I'm so tilted lol
So apparently if you use ALL of your repair kits, you won't get an S ranked. I thought it was health based along with ammo. I had more ammo and did it just as fast but used my last repair get when I was at 4800 health because I was afraid of not getting the S. I was stupid.
Dude Thanks! I decided to do this. What a change! I demolished And Overwhelmed the chopper guard without being hurt by those heavy missiles! 😊 S Rank in one try!
It is entirely based on total expenses for this mission. I hit 32k and got an A but did 30 and got the S. Number of enemies killed means nothing (some missions does matter) save the ammo cost for boss and do your best to dodge the rest and you'll get the S. I even used 2 med kits (tutorial and boss) and got my 30k expenses run. Edit: Time does not matter I tried it with a slow boss kill (hiding behind stuff and popping out) and a rush kill, both got S so long as I was under 32k expenses. This mission tricks you into thinking you need to kill everything, but you only need to kill the boss. Remember, every shot hit or miss cost money! EDIT: Read my reply comment to this one, it's better explained since this one is only 1/2 right.
@@MegaDragonmark Okay, I think I figured it out, and it's not good news. The game reads your loadout and determines the max cost your weapons and AP can cost you. It then factors off a percentage of that for your rank and yes there is a hidden timer (thanks fromsoft for not showing the time on the score anymore) Score example: Total cost of weapons and AP could be something like 10% of your max potential cost for an S rank, but you also need to hit a time of 3min for the S as well! (Above is not exact numbers but it seems to be how the scoring works) This is why on the destroy helicopters (mission 4 or 5) I couldn't get an S even though I was using only a sword and had a 0 damage and 0 ammo exspense run. Speed had come to play. I got the first energy rifles (one for each arm) you could buy (900+ damage one) with a fast AC and got the S. I was almost as fast with the sword but not fast enough due to overheat time slowing me down. Edit: spelling and grammar

I S-ranked the NG++ final boss while tanking every hit, but even a clean run of Illegal Entry still gets me only an A rank. Wish they made the requirements more explicit.
It is funny how on most S-rank mission video they call that specific mission the hardest to S-Rank. And no, this one is quite easy to S-Rank...once you completed NG++ and become much more skillful at playing. Of course at the start of the game it may looks intimidating. In fact, it is quite easy to S-Rank compared to other missions like, for example, "Attack the Refueling Base".
My strategy followed a similar route but was more liberal with ammo. AB to the walkways above the first enemies to avoid them (you can make it to the right, then the left, and go straight for the door without redlining so long as you touch the walkway, and it's safer) melee the guy at the first door (that way I take no/negligible damage before I fight anything). Took the same license search route, but killed the MTs at the first license with my sword (trying to catch both mechs with the first swing so I can kill the shield one with the second swing) so they wouldn't damage me heavily during the access, used multi lock missiles twice on the helis with a handful of rifle shots to mop them up at the third objective and melee each MT there before I pick up the license, stick to the lower level and rush straight up when I'm close to the catapult. I got to the catapult without being seen by the nearby enemies, but just AB dodge after the launch if enemies detect you so you don't take damage just before the Boss. Instead of ABing at the start of the fight I just positioned myself closer to where the filtercopter becomes vulnerable to damage, and just boosted up a little normally. I brought his health to half before he even started to try to get away. I chased him once to get some extra damage, but then backed off behind a building so he wouldn't go outside of the arena and couldn't hit me. He still managed to stagger me once in the fight, which is where I had to use a kit. You can be slightly more liberal with your ammo than this guy, he took unnecessary damage which is way more likely to cost you the S rank than spending a few bullets or missiles before the Boss, because if you either die or take too much damage you have to start over anyway, so it's better to have a route that avoids damage before you start worrying about ammo. What messed me up most, and what probably messed a lot of you up, was the lack of AB kick, as I had begun using that as an extra melee after landing a full combo/charged hit. On my first attempt to S rank I caught myself trying to follow up my Pulse Blade combos with an AB kick, both against MTs and the Filtercopter, which definately messed up my damage windows. Used 1 repair kit throughout the whole mission on my second attempt and had 5800 health at the end. The second thing that likely messes you up is being used to having a better repair kit. The default is only 4k, which is enough for this mission, but being used to a 6k heal will definately throw you off.
I've just done it. Ignored every mob enemy, Assault boosted everywhere, used up all repair kits and finished the helicotper without dying. S-Rank although I took lots of damage from the helicotper.
s ranked first try this was wayyyy easier than i thought it would be. avoid all the trash and be super aggressive with the heli and melee as much as humanly possible
While this video is quite helpful and the route it shows is great to get S-rank, I have to say that the Heli fight shown was quite poor. But lets look it this way: if they give S-rank for such mediocre performance, it means that the criteria for S-ranking this mission are quite forgiving. Which I appreciate. Also: you can shoot down enemies while passing by, or while waiting in place for completing the access to a door / license. You gain 4 seconds for each MT, and 2 MT for every other enemy. Anyway, never stop to kill an enemy in this mission. It isn't worth.

@@thewolfking3054 It's not based on costs as i just did better than this guy did in the video and got stuck with a fuckin A.
@@Snulge Yeah. It's more of a mixture of costs and time
Amazing. Even with the restart
I was doing absolute crap runs then I pull out absolute perfection with S rank and 156,698 in total income lol
Why the restart at the start? This my last mission to s rank go figure.
WTF? I did this mission taking like 2500 total damage and got an A?! The ranking system in this game is really unclear.
Too slow in that case.
Is that new game++?
S ranking this mission has no reason to be this annoying
If i dont kill everybody the objectives dont spawn for me :)
Sounds like a bug my guy.
@@tenefen5456 it's having an ancient CPU. It's not all bad, on the wallclimber mission the gatlin turrets don't spawn in until after I cross the bridge
I'm a bit disappointed in how the mission ranks seem dependent on speed alone? That seems like lazy design.
It's based on expenses it seems not time. but it looks like it's time cause rushing means less targeted time.
Nah it's more related to costs. Only reason they were rushing in the video was so they could try and save on ammo
unless specified, destroying enemies only waste money, no extra score whatsoever
@@thewolfking3054 no it's not. you can easily confirm this yourself by waiting for a few minutes at the start of a mission then completing it with minimal costs - you will get a rubbish ranking because you were too slow. Some missions have essential requirements like beating certain optional enemies but speed is king.
@@Ebenezer563 it could just be dependent on missions then. Because when I've been testing different missions I notice if I rush or take my time but get roughly the same costs it doesn't affect my score. But if I end up having higher costs at the end of a mission no matter how fast I go my score ends up taking a hit. Maybe speed can affect the scores but I think overall costs also have a big affect
Oh okay so you don’t have to kill anything for the S rank good to know lol
First skill check in the game and the heli can cheese you from out of bounds (and with rockets that trace you around corners when in cover, no less). Loool. Maybe this is Miyazaki's revenge for all the cheesing Soulsborne players have gotten away with over the years.
But yes, this is a garbage boss fight...real low budget From Soft.
Apparently there's a battle log here? At least according to the replay mission screen. If it's there anyone knows where you could find it?
So far as i see there r battle logs in every mission but how you get is probably varies...vaati in 1 of his explanation vids says look for enemies with the battle log icon on the left side of the target log on the enemy itself...but Ive scoured the place n haven't Found any enemy with that icon
If you go the replay mission list it’ll tell you which missions have combat logs and which ones don’t, they have a little tag icon next to them if that helps
@@skruntfanatic oh, I know, that's why I was asking where you could find the battle logs in this mission. Unless they are the ones you pick from the wrecks?
I’ve gotten all of them don’t know where this one would unless you mean a data log then idk
This one is too hard
I think the boss it too strong
How the helicopter was hard for people I will never know, lol. I beat it in literal seconds 🤣
Hard for me people who arent aggressive with meele and don't fly 😂
I already want my money back! This is the worst AC ever. Only based on speed and not efficiency, or overall performance? Lazy programming! This first mission is already making me think I wasted my money. This boss at the end is outrageously impossible! I'm not sure you even have enough ammo to kill it! I was looking forward to this game. It is just an example as to why I have stopped playing games. All the new ones are trash.
Its not impossible lmao just assault mode into melee rocket and rifle. Repeat till dead
Try to stay under the boss, your energy sword does a ton of damage and stagger aswell so try to use it often, you'll get it eventually.
I can’t tell if you’re serious, but gamespot has a video demonstrating s rank in one of the earlier missions and the player is extremely efficient. You might enjoy the game more once you start obtaining parts that better suit your play style.
Ok I finally beat the first boss. The replay tool tip tells you to get S rank you need No retires, minimize ammo consumption, incoming damage and time taken to complete.
Yeah, just not at all my kind of game. A complete suck fest. I liked the earlier AC games. I would rather play something that is not so annoying it gives me a headache.
This is so terrible......
