I LOVE LOVE LOVE patent leather especially for Chanel and Dior bags. They are so durable and that’s what you want when you spend so much money on a bag!
I love my patent leather items, they have been very low maintenance and easy to use. I do have some minor denting and a couple items that are so dark that finger prints are an issue, but otherwise no issues! I do notice that pricing on the secondary market for patent is significantly less than regular leather.
Yes, the pricing on the secondhand market is interesting. I guess it's because patent leather is in less demand. But I love mine and I'm glad you love yours too!
Hi, thank you for the great video. I have a red Boy medium in lambskin, it is gorgeous and very smooth but does require me to look after it well & i find the chain a tad heavy for a bag that size. I have slanted shoulders, so the chain keeps slipping off my shoulders especially when I'm wearing silk/satin/jersey blouses, so a lot of time, I need to wear it cross-body. I seriously think the chain is heavier than the bag itself. I just got a pre-loved single flap jumbo in black patent leather, it is gorgeous! It's so light and reflects the light like a superstar! It looks vibrant and glamorous. Can't believe how different the bag looks compared to the same model in caviar. Caviar looks jaded next to it, even though its newer. The single flap weighs less than 2lbs. The chain sits better on my shoulder than my Boy. Glad to see your video on patent leather and to see that others are as enthralled with patent as me! Thanks!!
Thank you for watching! I agree, the chain definitely does feel heavy, heavier than some of my other Chanel handbags. I do have broad shoulders, though, so it doesn't usually fall off of me haha.
thank you so much, you have the best review of Chanel patent leather jumbo. I have a red Chanel patent Jumbo leather. At first I was worried that it was naturally sticky, but with your review, I don't fear the stickiness anymore.
I loved it when you stick the two jumbos together. My Chanel Jumbo also does that, now, I don't have to worry about that natural stickiness too much, thank you ssoooooo much..
congratulations to her! chanel doesn't recommend you do anything, except use the cloth that comes with it to wipe off dust periodically. some people use cleaners, but i haven't found that to be necessary
I'm considering adding a jumbo in patent leather as the prices are really good on fashionphile and I was wondering how it compares the LV patent leather or other patent leathers as far as quality? 💖💖💖
Hi Josie. I have a vernis LV cosmetic pouch and I'd say it's more durable than Chanel's patent. It seems to be slightly more scratch resistant, but they both show fingerprints equally.
Hey! Love your videos! Do you still have your patent Chanel? I just purchased an orange Jumbo pre loved and I’m wondering how yours is holding up. There’s minor wear and tear on the one that I purchased. It looks like the leather is peeling a little bit around the corners near the stitching. It’s not noticeable unless you really closely examine it. But I’m wondering if it will get worse.
Hi! I still my beige one, and it has no wear, but admittedly I don't wear it very often and don't wear it places where I would be walking closely to people/where it might get spills or anything on it. I've heard a few people say something similar about peeling at edges, but nothing about it becoming a larger issue--so I hope that's the case for you too!
I think patent is beautiful however; I have noticed it becoming sticky with age, to the point where the shine starts to dull. Now this was not with a Chanel bag so maybe quality is a factor!
Wow thanks girlabee 😘😘 I decided to go for reissue chanel large because of the weight, and go for the patent for lady dior. But thanks a lot for the video!
Great video, thanks! I wonder if you still have these bags, and if so, how are they holding up? I'm in the market for a patent leather Chanel bag and you are correct, I was not able to find very many videos.
Hi! I still have my beige, but I sold the black. The beige looks as good as ever! Admittedly, I have not worn it much in the past 2 years due to COVID, but I'd certainly still recommend it.
Hi! Thank you! The only thing I've done with these handbags is dust them off occasionally. I just use the Chanel cloth included w/ purchase for that. For more intensive cleaning, I would probably take the handbags to the boutique.
Hi! I also wear a lot of Black and I have not had an issue. I am more worried about blue jeans that I wear more than Black sweaters or dresses. But I will fully admit I don't wear this handbag as much as my others because it's a little dressier, so if you wear it more often you might run into issues. I hope you don't let that scare you away, though, because I see you're a fellow patent lover and they're so great!
I am thinking of getting black patent jumbo but the only concern is the weight. I am quite petite and I have kids so I don’t want a heavy bag 😅 how heavy is it? Can u let me know the weight plz?
How is your black patent leather holding on? I want to add this patent leather to my collection but I have been told it is a NO due to colour transfer and things like mounds I don't know how true this is ?
Hi Maureen. I sold my Black patent leather Chanel, but before that I had never had any issues with color transfer. I still have my beige patent and I've also never had any issues with it. That is actually why I wanted a patent beige instead of a lambskin, because with patent I've never had to worry about what colors I wear. I hope you're able to add patent leather to your collection!
@@girlabee I heard the can be sticky, you also mentioned that in your video. Do you put something in between the flap and the bag where it closes? Thank you for your video. I love patent but no one ever talks about it.
@@vkl0253 I keep the fabric material Chanel gives with purchase in between the flap and the handbag when I'm not using it, but when I wear the bags I do not put anything there. I think they still wear fine that way, but we'll see how they look in 10 years!
Thank you for this video! Thinking about buying a patent Chanel off fashionphile today but the description said something about the bag being “sticky”. Last thing I wasn’t to do is drop a couple thousand on a bag that I’d have to baby since the whole point of patent is durability imo. Thanks for clarifying exactly what that meant 🩵

The patent leather is so beautiful! I hadn’t even considered purchasing patent but now I kind of want one!
Yay! I think in the right color, patent looks so lovely. I hope you find the one for you!
I have a Chanel Boy Bag in black patent and it’s simply gorgeous. I love patent. I really like your cream patent bag too! Very nice!
Thanks so much! I think patent is underrated.
I just purchased my first patent leather Chanel bag. Thanks for your review!
Yay! I hope you love it for years to come!

Both are beautiful bags. I totally agree with you that patent leather need less maintenance. Great review. Have a happy Valentine’s Day darling ❤️
Thanks, friend! I hope you had a great V-Day too :))
my red Chanel Jumbo also has the same natural marks around the closure area due to closure of the bag, hehe thank you, thank you, thank you...
I love patent leather. I have a lot of patent items but mostly from LV. Love your bags. Great video
Thank you for watching :)
DDGLADIVA I'm the same, I have a fair bit of LV vernis and a Chanel reissue and I just love them.
I love patent leather. Especially shoes. Those are stunning bags ......love your scarf 🧣 ♥️🌟
Thank you! I think patent leather shoes are beautiful.
I just recently purchased my girlfriend a black patent leather jumbo. What are some ways to keep it in good condition?

Omg. that patent is stunning!
So shinyyyyy :))
Beautiful bags! I just ordered a dior lady patent black now I’m even more excited :) I was a bit unsure about the durability thank you!

Show us the bag Chanel Chain Around Maxi, I never saw before.
Hi Heloisa. You can find my Chain Around Maxi in my handbag collection video!

Are there any cracks? Like corners or where the sewing is?
Nope! :)

How do you clean patent leather ? Any special cleaners ?
I've only used the cloth provided from Chanel to wipe hand prints off. Chanel doesn't recommend using any cleaner.
What is the name of the color for the light bag?
patent beige!
What are the measurements of this bag?
Love the black, i have patented leather toed black sued Chanel shoes that would look great with that bag. 👍🏽🙏🏽😘🇺🇸
Those sound so pretty!
Hi. Are you selling these? Please reply🙏🏽
I've actually already sold my black one!
@@girlabee Awe what about beige color? I’m look a fashionphile and the real real now.

I store them the same way as my other handbags. Out of their dustbags (but behind glass) and out of the sun's reach
