I really like patent leather! BUT as much as I like them and they can have some fun colors, it’s not that durable. I know a lot of YTers say that but it’s not. They can get color transfer VERY easily (even from the black dustbag and the bag’s own chain!). I would only get them in darker colors. I have a Louis Vuitton Vernis bag that dyed from white to red due to transfer
I've tried on multiple occasions with patent leathers. After several fails, I've learned that it's a hard no for me. I'm just not careful enough. And being too cautious prevented me from really enjoying the bags and slgs. So now, they just sit on a shelf. They're very pretty and eye catching though. 😍

I’ve personally banned myself from ever buying it ever again, even if someone gifted it to me, I’d turn around & sell it & purchase something that will actually last. It’s definitely pretty when it’s new though.
I had several similar opportunities to purchase patent leather items but decided, in the end, not to. They’re beautiful but notoriously difficult to maintain, and once they’re damaged in any way there’s no repairing them unless you’re okay with recoloring. I don’t want to go through that sort of heartbreak, so it’s a hard no for me.
The mini reissue 224 is a keeper. Is unique so black and is under the boutique price. Chanel price keep increasing. U never loose money if u keep it and resell it in the future
Love love love the 224!!!! And the so black makes it even more cool! You must keep it! Although you have a few minis but I believe the 224 is a slightly different size and fits things really well, and it has 4 grommets as well which is so handy. I have two of them in different colours and it is my favourite Chanel bags of all time. You’re making me think of patent leather now....🙈

The bag is stunning! I love that mini size! I have had patent leather before and it was always hardwearing, never had to worry about it. It wasn’t luxury but still used it for years and was able to donate it when I was ready to let it go. The other two pieces are just beautiful!!

@@hellocatwalkcity 👍🏻 - I think it’s about being mindful of storing the bag. Iforgot that I have a Prada patent leather bag that was a gift back in 2003. Still looks just as good as the day I got it!! I keep that one in the cloth bag it came in, away from my other bags so nothing is leaning against it. Go with your heart, you’ll make the right decision! ❤️
Oh I love patent leather! I dont know of Chanel’s patent is different than other fashion houses but I love patent leather. I would not hesitate at all. I love this little reissue! My reissue (mine is the 226 black crinkled calfskin with ruthenium) is my favorite bag. I have a crinkled black patent toy loulou with SHW which they dont make anymore and I love it. It’s Really carefree. These are all Such cute pieces! Keep the mini! You will love the reissue. You can wear it anywhere! With any jewelry. If you change your mind you can easily sell it on your channel or IG. You won’t find it again at that price. I’ve heard you can shine it with wonder bread. The cardholder is so pretty also!

I’ve had several bags and several experiences with Patent Leather . they’re beautiful and I love the look, but I would say buy darker color ones, and truthfully no matter how good you take care of them in the end five 10/15 years they still deteriorate somehow someway, and get sticky and prone to fingerprints. so as much as I love the look, I try to stay away from them. And unlike regular leather caviar or lambskin, they cannot be refurbish... That is exactly what Leather Surgeons Gerry told me! they do not fix anything as far as spa or treatment to the Leather if it’s patent leather. Congrats on your new purchase.
I love patent leather. They are easy to take care of and can be wiped. But I only get them in dark colors. It's also not really suitable for humid weather because it tends to get sticky I'd you leave it unused for awhile
Chanel’s patent leather had never gotten my attention, but your hot pink pouch is so me. I’m always tempted to get the LV Alma BB in the vernis when I see it on Fashionphile, but everyone said it’s stains and scratches way too easily.
The pink is such a bright cheerful color! 💗 I think the high maintenance factor for patent leather is not for everyone. I’m not 100% sure I can handle it! 😆
Hi! Nice pieces! I have tow LV bags in vernis leather which is patent and a beautiful Dior flap in patent. No problems at all. I had a chanel patent card holder but I just never used it so I sold it but it was in perfect condition. Keep your bag!

With Chanel prices only going up, I’m sure (as others noted), you could resell it if you think your cost per wear isn’t worth it. How cute will that patent card holder look with that bag? So glad this video popped up in my YT feed today , sadly lately YT has really been weird and not notifying me when my favorite RUclipsrs post new videos . I literally just inherited a Chanel mini rectangular in patent leather , handed down to me from my Aunt who lives in Vegas . I have never been much of a Chanel fan , however when she asked me if I would be interested in it , I Ofcourse wasn’t crazy enough to say No ,lol . I don’t know what kind of leather it is , what series it is , how old it is or any of that because I honestly didn’t ask her . I guess I will have to , because I really don’t know much about Chanel .I only know it’s black with silver hardware and super shiny . All I did so far was try it on and take a look at it in the mirror and the fingerprints that I got on it , made me wipe it clean and store it right back in its dust bag girl . For me it’s a very dressy style bag and not something I would ever wear daily . My brother is getting married in February of 2022 , I think it’s definitely going to be my wedding bag for that day . Thank you for the tips on patent leather , I was going to start looking for videos on patent leather and girl you read my mind with this video ! Love that pink and the reissue is beautiful ! Now I know how to go check what series mine is later , thanks for showing that part on the card , I honestly didn’t even check the zipper pocket to see if she kept the card with the bag . She was ok with me selling it and getting a vintage montsoris GM instead , the bigger backpack is Aweosme for traveling . I plan to use it in June and take it on the plane with me to Florida !
I used to have light pink patent leather bag from high street brand. It was beautiful but only after year of using it the color faded n became slightly yellow. At the time I didn’t know how to take care of patent leather so I also got few marks on it. Black should be pretty safe though. I’d keep reissue n return all other items if money was an issue.
I love patent and so black is gorgeous. Don’t care for the re issue. What I don’t like about patent in lighter colors once it scuffs forget it. Not sure black should be better I would think with scuffing.

I have a vintage Chanel patent leather tote (don't know what series it is because the serial number is missing) but patent leather can develop this cloudiness. Ive been meaning to buy the specific leather condition for patent leather but for the meantime I've just been using my ordinary leather conditioner
Patent leather is definitely not for me (way too many bad experiences from way too many different luxury fashion brands), but the black mini 2.55 is a stunning bag. Hopefully Chanel’s patent leather is the exception (I’ve never had patent from Chanel), however I would keep your eye on it & keep checking the condition of the coating regularly regardless of how much you use it.

Hi! I have a brand new LV mini pochette in monogram made in France I’m saving for her, along with a Chanel zip card case in the very special green color (special meaning for her). I also told her that the Speedy 25 in mono is hers when she gets older but technically she can take whatever I have when she’s old enough! 😂 I bet your 1 yr old is super sweet. 💕 Mine is turning 11 soon! I saw a stunning crushed patent leather so-black medium flap at the Short Hills Mall NJ yesterday. I was extremely tempted! Patent is beautiful but I prefer carefree bags. I would not recommend patent in NYC. It's just too humid in the summer.
Keep everything! All of the pieces are gorgeous and unique! 😁💕 I too, had a little neglect with my red Lady Dior patent leather. The gold hardware that spells Dior is hanging and touching the patent leather and in result of that now I have a mark. So, as soon as I noticed it, I started putting a cloth in between while it’s resting on the shelf. It’s not noticeable when you look at the bag but only when I move the hardware. So, yeah certain things about patent leather you have to be careful and taught to. Of course, wipe it after a rainy day and keep it away from sunlight. Xox, 💐💕
Oh boy ... my first chanel was a rectangular mini light metallic blue patent leather and I was totally clueless ... yeah... everybody knows what happened next. I used it a lot and due to sun exposure / heat it turned green... really! The only part of the bag that remained blue is under the flap. I still love it tough I'll never buy patent leather again.

It’s a beautiful bag 😍I understand your hesitation though, Bcs u have two new minis. Why not put all of them in front in front of you, and see which one would be redundant with your wardrobe, style, etc? That always works for me. If it were me, I would keep the black and caramel, and sell the gold bcs it wouldn’t get much use in my wardrobe (I’ve tried 😂). Happy decision making!
I’m not a big fan of patent leather. I feel like it gets easily beat up. Smudges/scuffs are a constant on patent shoes and I imagine it would be the same issue on bags but to a lesser degree since you’re not walking on it. I love how it looks but not how it wears. Maybe in a SLG it won’t be so bad, but I would be devastated if my bag got beat up. BTW, that’s literally the only reissue that I like. It’s beautiful. Congratulations
I know what you mean! I used to wear many patent leather heels to work (when I was younger)... they always got scuffed or marked up after a while in a way that’s unique to only patent leather (white lines or scratches). I’ll be honest, this thought it lingering in the back of my mind...

I like small patent leather pieces. But for the handbag, I would not buy it. Over the time , you will feel sticky. I only have one vernis leather of Alma PM and wallet. My wallet starts to feel sticky. I will never buy any thing with patent leather. It is beautiful and shiny but it don’t give me luxurious feeling. Plus it is still very expensive piece. There was nothing wrong with the bag as far as I could see. In fact, it looked pretty new - it was stunning. I think if you love it, go for it!! I'm learning that the reissue style in any leather or size is just not for me, perhaps. Anyway, I just tracked the package and it states estimated arrival is tomorrow, Friday 4/23! So quick! Is beautiful. But Patent leather not for me here that has humid and wet weather all year round. But also try not to put both card holder and the pink one together. Apparently it will stick together if too long. The handbag looks beautiful too. Keep all if you really love it.

Is fashionphile really legit reseller? I have a friend of a friend that bought there and when she brought the bag to the store for repair, she was told its not authentic. That's why im super scared to buy pre loved. Counterfeiters are getting better at it.

Be careful! I had a big issue with fashionphile recently! they sold me a fake Chanel mini in black patent leather it was listed with tags but the tags on the bag did not belong to it!the tags said it was from 18A or something but i researched the serial number at it was from 2019 also under the chanel mini flap there is no stitching!!! they refused to take it back so I threatened to expose them online and on yelp and they returned it . Your bag also has stitching under the flap and none of my other chanel minis's have stitching under the flap! they also claim to check these bags so meticulously and they don't if they did they would have seen that the tags didn't even match! they are selling super fakes! I would return it!! in addition they put the bag bag up for sale after they received it back.

I guess don't understand why you would apply for a giveaway when you are fully capable of buying 3 Chanel purchases in one day. I’ve been a huge fan of Charis for many years and it was special to win something specifically from her. I actually use that cardholder all the time and it’s already beat up around the corners! 😆 After winning the cardholder, I haven’t entered any of her other giveaways exactly for that reason - so others have a greater chance to win. I’ve also done many giveaways to give back. But I disagree that giveaways are only for those who can’t afford it for themselves. The winners are selected randomly so it’s pure luck and that’s part of the fun!

Only dislike patent leather shoes. They will not stretch or mold to your feet. Do not own any patent leather bags but not mad at them

So glad this video popped up in my YT feed today , sadly lately YT has really been weird and not notifying me when my favorite RUclipsrs post new videos . I literally just inherited a Chanel mini rectangular in patent leather , handed down to me from my Aunt who lives in Vegas . I have never been much of a Chanel fan , however when she asked me if I would be interested in it , I Ofcourse wasn’t crazy enough to say No ,lol . I don’t know what kind of leather it is , what series it is , how old it is or any of that because I honestly didn’t ask her . I guess I will have to , because I really don’t know much about Chanel .I only know it’s black with silver hardware and super shiny . All I did so far was try it on and take a look at it in the mirror and the fingerprints that I got on it , made me wipe it clean and store it right back in its dust bag girl . For me it’s a very dressy style bag and not something I would ever wear daily . My brother is getting married in February of 2022 , I think it’s definitely going to be my wedding bag for that day . Thank you for the tips on patent leather , I was going to start looking for videos on patent leather and girl you read my mind with this video ! Love that pink and the reissue is beautiful ! Now I know how to go check what series mine is later , thanks for showing that part on the card , I honestly didn’t even check the zipper pocket to see if she kept the card with the bag . I hope so but if I know her ,she was never a stickler like we are for saving original receipts and stuff like that . I would keep that mini reissue , how cute ! Thanks for the tip on the chain storage ! Wow I better go figure a way to store the chain . It sounds like it’ll be the perfect accessory for your brother’s wedding! 💗 As for the fingerprints and high maintenance issue, I know what you mean. I’m asking myself if I love it enough to deal with the headaches 😂 and we’ll see. As for the series number, even if your aunt didn’t keep the card, the sticker may still be in tact inside the bag. I don’t see myself ever spending the money on 1 but I’m happy to have been given 1 for sure , my aunt is my mom’s Half sister so she is only maybe 15 years older than me and she never had kids , this is the 2nd bag she’s handed down to me so far ,1st was the vintage version montsoris pm . She was ok with me selling it and getting a vintage montsoris GM instead , the bigger backpack is Aweosme for traveling . I plan to use it in June and take it on the plane with me to Florida !

I used to have light pink patent leather bag from high street brand. It was beautiful but only after year of using it the color faded n became slightly yellow. At the time I didn’t know how to take care of patent leather so I also got few marks on it. Black should be pretty safe though. I’d keep reissue n return all other items if money was an issue.

I love patent and so black is gorgeous. Don’t care for the re issue. What I don’t like about patent in lighter colors once it scuffs forget it. Not sure black should be better I would think with scuffing.
The scuffing is definitely an issue with patent. I remember my patent heels would always get marked. It’s something to consider for sure. 🤔

I have a vintage Chanel patent leather tote (don't know what series it is because the serial number is missing) but patent leather can develop this cloudiness. Ive been meaning to buy the specific leather condition for patent leather but for the meantime I've just been using my ordinary leather conditioner

Patent leather is definitely not for me (way too many bad experiences from way too many different luxury fashion brands), but the black mini 2.55 is a stunning bag. Hopefully Chanel’s patent leather is the exception (I’ve never had patent from Chanel), however I would keep your eye on it & keep checking the condition of the coating regularly regardless of how much you use it.

Hi! I have a brand new LV mini pochette in monogram made in France I’m saving for her, along with a Chanel zip card case in the very special green color (special meaning for her). I also told her that the Speedy 25 in mono is hers when she gets older but technically she can take whatever I have when she’s old enough! 😂 I bet your 1 yr old is super sweet. 💕 Mine is turning 11 soon! Time flies. ✈️
Oh and the LV Palm Springs Mini backpack ... she knows that’s hers when she gets older as well! 😉

I saw a stunning crushed patent leather so-black medium flap at the Short Hills Mall NJ yesterday. I was extremely tempted! Patent is beautiful but I prefer carefree bags. I would not recommend patent in NYC. It's just too humid in the summer.

Keep everything! All of the pieces are gorgeous and unique! 😁💕 I too, had a little neglect with my red Lady Dior patent leather. The gold hardware that spells Dior is hanging and touching the patent leather and in result of that now I have a mark. So, as soon as I noticed it, I started putting a cloth in between while it’s resting on the shelf. It’s not noticeable when you look at the bag but only when I move the hardware. So, yeah certain things about patent leather you have to be careful and taught to. Of course, wipe it after a rainy day and keep it away from sunlight. Xox, 💐💕

Oh boy ... my first chanel was a rectangular mini light metallic blue patent leather and I was totally clueless ... yeah... everybody knows what happened next. I used it a lot and due to sun exposure / heat it turned green... really! The only part of the bag that remained blue is under the flap. I still love it tough I'll never buy patent leather again.

It’s a beautiful bag 😍I understand your hesitation though, Bcs u have two new minis. Why not put all of them in front in front of you, and see which one would be redundant with your wardrobe, style, etc? That always works for me. If it were me, I would keep the black and caramel, and sell the gold bcs it wouldn’t get much use in my wardrobe (I’ve tried 😂). Happy decision making!

I’m not a big fan of patent leather. I feel like it gets easily beat up. Smudges/scuffs are a constant on patent shoes and I imagine it would be the same issue on bags but to a lesser degree since you’re not walking on it. I love how it looks but not how it wears. Maybe in a SLG it won’t be so bad, but I would be devastated if my bag got beat up.
BTW, that’s literally the only reissue that I like. It’s beautiful. Congratulations
I know what you mean! I used to wear many patent leather heels to work (when I was younger)... they always got scuffed or marked up after a while in a way that’s unique to only patent leather (white lines or scratches). I’ll be honest, this thought it lingering in the back of my mind...

I like small patent leather pieces. But for the handbag, I would not buy it. Over the time , you will feel sticky. I only have one vernis leather of Alma PM and wallet. My wallet starts to feel sticky. I will never buy any thing with patent leather. It is beautiful and shiny but it don’t give me luxurious feeling. Plus it is still very expensive piece. You see, I was eyeing the EXACT SAME Chanel Patent Mini Reissue Flap Bag on Fashionphile (Item # 676164) around the same time recently. As a matter of fact, it was in my shopping cart... I wavered about the patent leather... paused to contemplate... attended to another task at hand.... then went back to Fashionphile... and *POOF* the item was no longer available: “SOLD OUT”! I did let out an internal whimper at the time: “Nooooooo!” 😢 Anyway, I am very happy to know that the bag went to a very nice home and will be loved by you! @@babylon2780 Yes really! I wanted to keep it so badly however sleeping on it for a day and after comparing it with the rest of my handbags, I couldn't rationalize keeping it. There was nothing wrong with the bag as far as I could see. In fact, it looked pretty new - it was stunning. I think if you love it, go for it!! I'm learning that the reissue style in any leather or size is just not for me, perhaps. Anyway, I just tracked the package and it states estimated arrival is tomorrow, Friday 4/23! So quick! I'm sure the bag will be re-listed in a matter of days so turn on your alert! :) Hope you get it and love it!! xx

Is beautiful. But Patent leather not for me here that has humid and wet weather all year round. But also try not to put both card holder and the pink one together. Apparently it will stick together if too long. The handbag looks beautiful too. Keep all if you really love it.

Is fashionphile really legit reseller? I have a friend of a friend that bought there and when she brought the bag to the store for repair, she was told its not authentic. That's why im super scared to buy pre loved. Counterfeiters are getting better at it.
That means your friend would get 100% of her money back from Fashionphile bc they have an authenticity guarantee.

Be careful! I had a big issue with fashionphile recently! they sold me a fake Chanel mini in black patent leather it was listed with tags but the tags on the bag did not belong to it!the tags said it was from 18A or something but i researched the serial number at it was from 2019 also under the chanel mini flap there is no stitching!!! they refused to take it back so I threatened to expose them online and on yelp and they returned it . Your bag also has stitching under the flap and none of my other chanel minis's have stitching under the flap! they also claim to check these bags so meticulously and they don't if they did they would have seen that the tags didn't even match! they are selling super fakes! I would return it!! in addition they put the bag bag up for sale after they received it back.

I guess don't understand why you would apply for a giveaway when you are fully capable of buying 3 Chanel purchases in one day. One would think that you would leave those opportunities for followers who could never dream of buying one piece or would have to save for years to be able to afford something that you don't seem that interested in.
I’ve been a huge fan of Charis for many years and it was special to win something specifically from her. I actually use that cardholder all the time and it’s already beat up around the corners! 😆 After winning the cardholder, I haven’t entered any of her other giveaways exactly for that reason - so others have a greater chance to win. I’ve also done many giveaways to give back. But I disagree that giveaways are only for those who can’t afford it for themselves. The winners are selected randomly so it’s pure luck and that’s part of the fun!

@@catnip4587 Hmm, interesting theory but doubtful. It was only a few months after I started my channel and I had probably less than 100 subscribers 😂 so I can’t imagine she even knew or cared. She certainly doesn’t need me promoting her - she’s pretty big time already. Giveaways, at least when I do them, are a way to thank supporters. I use random number generators or comment pickers... or ask my kids to pick 😂 so it’s fair. Hopefully everyone else does it that way too. 😉
